Funny how I thought the Top 4 episode came early. :funny:

I'm cool with that, but I'm afraid of her getting compared to Fantasia (in a bad way).
I'm baaaaaack!

But again, if she held her own or outperformed Fantasia, it will be HER moment.

And this is exactly what she needs to do now to win..

Man, if last week was bad, this week's worse! The only great parts of tonight were the duets, honestly. Crystal's performance was obviously the best of the night but even so, it didn't really WOW me. I'd like to think that Lee is safe, but somehow Idol is always unexpected. I think that Crystal should be safe and other than that, any of the three could be going home. I really loved the duet with Lee and Crystal, but I get a deja vu from last season when they paired up Adam and Allison and one of them went home. So I have a bad feeling about this but I really, really hope that Lee is safe. Geez.

Bottomline is, I think Crystal will be safe, and tonight's vote will be a tough call. Sigh.

My prediction is Mike goes home.  I think it should be Casey going home but he has a large following because he is nice to look at.  Still hold out hope Lee can win this but then again on most reality show the person I pick loses.

Last night was boring.  Loved Crystal and Lee duet.   :hearts:

I agree with you both. I didn't think anyone truly sang something that will be memorable but I thought Crystal was the best last night. I did love both duets.

What I didn't care for was Randy starting the young guy, cougar thing up again. Even if Casey isn't my favorite, he deserves to be judged on his performance and nothing else. It was evident last night when he played his guitar during the duet that Casey is truly a musician and singer second. He loves to play and perhaps this is why he isn't as energized or appear to really want to win AI. I liked his song choice, it suited his voice and was his 2nd best performance for me.

Who is going home? I just don't know. Mike and Casey bottom two, but hopefully not Lee. I think Crystal is safe.

You guys got it, Mike sent home which surprised me. I thought for sure it would be Casey. I see that VFTW was pushing votes to keep Casey. How powerful they are I don't know.

What's up with Crystal being along side the person going home for the 3rd time when I am certain she was NOT in the bottom 3? Is it to undermine her by implying that she is a loser? Just asking...

I think you are on to something, if you remember, Ryan did say it was in Random order.  We will never know, but to keep it interesting I bet Mike and Casey were in the bottom 2, I would bet money on it that Crystal was not even in the bottom 2.  Especially since Casey was also sent to the couch before Lee.

I had this bad feeling when Casey was sent to safety first because if you remember, Kris was sent to safety first last season and he went on to win. Casey has been a dark horse in this competition, with a few strong performances and other forgettable onces, just like Kris. So at that moment I was thinking, hey, could there be an upset again this season and Casey makes the final two and perhaps even win? But I realised, the person that VFTW picks usually doesn't win, am I right to say that? Hmm.

Oh, and wasn't this the first time Crystal stood alongside someone who went home? Last week she was with Casey and that pair was declared safe. Two weeks ago she was with Aaron and that pair together with Lee was declared safe too.

Gosh, I hope that VFTW doesn't get their way and put Casey in the final two. I don't know, such upsets DO happen. Look at last season when Adam and Danny seemed like the "obvious" final two. This season, Lee and Crystal are the Adam and Danny. Oh no, it's gonna be exciting! Geez.

And I'm SO GLAD that Mike is finally gone. Up till now, I still wonder how he lasted so long.

IMHO, i think AI WANTS CRYSTAL to win. That is why they want her fans to BELIEVE that she is in EXTREME danger and vote for her crazily the following week.

Trust me, seriously.. Crystal must have gotten the most number of votes in one of these weeks she was along side the person going home...

Since the Top 20, i believe Crystal will win this season.

I've been her fan all season long and if she doesn't win. You bet i'll be darn disappointed. Come to think of it, i never had an american idol favourite whom i supported from the beginning till the end and won.. except for Jordin Sparks.. but i only started liking her at the Top 8/9.

Tonight on our local Fox news showed Casey going to the Fort Worth Stockyards to meet his fans and the crowd looked huge. He performed at Key's Lounge with his band and he was on fire, playing his guitar. His mom also sang a song with Casey accompanying her. I hope AI shows her singing. She's pretty good. Someone at the lounge said  he should let go and play on the show like he played there.

"American Idol" contestant Casey James has come home to North Texas before the grand finale, and he visited FOX 4 on Friday morning.

Casey, who made the 'Idol' final three on Wednesday night, was live on FOX 4's "Good Day" from 7 a.m. to 8 a.m.

A t 10:30 a.m. Casey's busy day continued with a meet and greet at a Grapevine AT&T store.

He then moved on to his first public performance  -- a small show at the packed Keys Lounge in Fort Worth , where Casey has a history of performing. A crowd of about 200 watched the jam session, and about 50 people, who could not get into the venue remained outside. During the show, a comfortable-looking Casey sang and performed guitar solos. He told the crowd it was great to be back. Watch a raw clip of the event below, shot by intrepid FOX 4 reporter Brandon Todd. Scroll beyond the video for more details on Casey's upcoming appearances.

Our local news also had a piece about Lee showing him throwing the first pitch at Wrigley Field, looked like he did a good job getting the ball over the plate.

'American Idol' finalist Lee DeWyze comes home

Lee DeWyze's Chicago-area homecoming has begun.

The Mount Prospect native and "American Idol" Top 3 finalist kicked off his hectic day on Friday -- which includes throwing out the first pitch at Wrigley Field, a parade in his hometown and a performance at Arlington Park -- with a visit to various Chicago radio and TV outlets.

"Being in Chicago ... I've been gone -- it feels like it's been forever," DeWyze told FOX's "Good Day Chicago." "To be back, it's just like ... this is home."

DeWyze is scheduled to appear at an AT&T store in Skokie at 11 a.m. and will visit an unnamed high school later in the day. He told "Good Day" he will play an original song, a cover and something he performed on "Idol" during his mini-concert.

AT&T store in Skokie

Around 200-250 fans showed up for DeWyze's 11 a.m appearance and was said to be "very appreciative." From what I hear, the first fan showed up at the store around 5:30 a.m.

First pitch at the Cubs game

DeWyze hit the field shortly before 1 p.m. (thanks to the help of a police escort), and briefly spoke with Cubs chairman Tom Ricketts. "This is awesome" DeWyze told Ricketts. I asked him if he was able to sleep the night before and he simply responded, "No."

After throwing out the first pitch, DeWyze pumped his fist (the pitch was good, but it wasn't fist-pumping good) and then walked up to the "American Idol" TV crew. "Wow, that was crazy," he said into the cameras. DeWyze left the field after that and was followed by the camera crew, photographers and, of course, screaming fans.
