Okay...my guess is that this was originally intended to be a RB in ep 11, but was moved to this ep for some reason.

Is it a detour option or a Route Marker? ???

And Jet/Cord sure seem relaxed...like they know they have some time. And from their comment, we can be sure that Dan and Jordan were behind at this point, and since we later see Mike and Louie together with Dan and Jordan, they are behind at this point as well.

Whatever point it is.

Okay........are you saying that you think it was orginally filmed as an Ep 11 task, but now has been edited into Ep 10?

No...it was originally scheduled to be an ep 11 RB, we think, that may have been changed to ep 10. Otherwise there is another Fashion task in ep 11

Screencaps coming up...see if y'all think Jet is holding a Route Marker towards the end??

I have a feeling that Jet-Cord get through this much more quickly than the drums in Singapore. This task primarily requires good eyesight since they have a drawing of the clothes ensemble with them as they look.

And the clue looks like a route marker, with a white explanation sheet.

I looked through the episode for editing tricks (the same tricks they used to make Wulff castle disappear), but it seems straightforward. At the top of the bridge, there's a clear shot of Mike's face when he says "find Tian Zi Fang."

I think they just did a last minute task shuffle.

Did we see a scheduled ROUTE MARKER: in Lu Zia Zui Park in Pudong?? I need to rewatch but I didn't think so. If not, it is possible that that could becaome our RB next ep? ??? That's the mysterious escalade one...toy cars, climbing something, who knows?

BVM has always bragged he could change things around on a moments notice......guess he did.

I think it was to make up for the lack of a RB on Leg 5. The reasoning is that it actually cuts out the need to plan another Detour from the entire season, thus saving money while making an unprecedented twist. I don't believe it was a last minute switch, but who really knows?

There are a number of possibilities that could explain why two ROADBLOCKs were in one episode. The one that appeals most to me is that Bertram van Munster has finally discovered that  many of his approaches have been too predictable. It's like an NFL football team measuring the tendencies of their next opponent. BVM wants to be less predictable and surprise his audience, particularly that part of the audience which studies his every move and tries to discern the underlying patterns. In other words, he wants to "break the mold" so we and others cannot track him as easily in the future.

I personally believe that we'll be seeing more RBs and fewer detours in the future. Detours are obviously double the cost of RBs (unlike they're located close to each other). Plus the fewer the teams, the more likely that one option will be completely dismissed (at least detours are considerably more balanced than they had been previously).
