CBS's EMMY AWARD-WINNING REALITY FRANCHISES TO RETURN IN 2010-2011

Network Orders Two More Editions of "Survivor"

"The Amazing Race" to Make its 17th Sprint Around the World

CBS has ordered more editions of its Emmy Award-winning reality franchises-SURVIVOR and THE AMAZING RACE-for broadcast in the 2010-2011 season.

SURVIVOR will return with two more editions, marking the 21st and 22nd installments of broadcast television's longest-running reality competition series.

Last fall, SURVIVOR: SAMOA (7.8/12, 13.45m million viewers), the franchise's 19th edition, continued its ratings dominance, winning its Thursday (8:00-9:00 PM, ET/PT) time period in viewers, adults 18-49 (4.3/12) and adults 25-54 (5.4/13).

The series' 20th edition, SURVIVOR: HEROES VS. VILLAINS, premieres with a special two-hour episode on Thursday, Feb. 11 (8:00-10:00 PM, ET/PT).  SURVIVOR: HEROES VS. VILLAINS reunites 20 of the most memorable, heroic and controversial castaways from previous SURVIVOR seasons.  The series' best strategists will face off in their attempt to overcome - or embrace - the label placed upon them when they return to seek revenge or redemption, all in an effort to win the title of Sole Survivor.  Emmy Award winner Jeff Probst hosts.

The groundbreaking reality series, which premiered in May 2000, has anchored CBS's winning Thursday lineup since February 2001.  It won an Emmy Award in 2001 in the category of "Outstanding Non-Fiction Program" (Special Class).  Host Jeff Probst is a two-time Emmy Award winner in the category of "Outstanding Host for a Reality or Reality Competition Series."

SURVIVOR is produced by SEG, Inc.  Mark Burnett is executive producer and David Burris and Leisa Francis are co-executive producers.

CBS has also ordered the 17th edition of the seven-time Emmy Award-winning reality series THE AMAZING RACE, hosted by Phil Keoghan.

            THE AMAZING RACE recently concluded its 15th edition with year-to-year gains in viewers (11.91m, +7%), adults 18-49 (3.7/09, +6%) and adults 25-54 (4.7/10, +7%).

THE AMAZING RACE has won the Emmy Award for "Outstanding Reality Competition Program" every year since the category was created seven years ago.

THE AMAZING RACE 16 returns Sunday, Feb. 14 (8:00-9:00 PM, ET/PT).  Jerry Bruckheimer, Bertram van Munster, Jonathan Littman, Elise Doganieri and Amy Chacon are the executive producers for Jerry Bruckheimer Television and Earthview Inc. in association with ABC Studios and Amazing Race Productions.  Phil Keoghan is host.  THE AMAZING RACE was created by Bertram van Munster and Elise Doganieri.

Jeff Probst Signs New Agreement to Return as Host/Executive Producer

CBS has ordered two more editions of SURVIVOR to be broadcast during the 2011-2012 season.  These will mark the 23rd and 24th editions of television's longest-running hit reality competition series.

Additionally, Emmy Award-winner Jeff Probst has signed a new agreement to continue as host and as an executive producer for the 23rd and 24th editions.  Probst has hosted SURVIVOR since its inception.

This season, SURVIVOR moved from its long-established Thursday time period to Wednesday (8:00-9:00 PM, ET/PT).  The fall edition, SURVIVOR: NICARAGUA, continued its time-period-winning ways, placing first in viewers (13.61m), adults 18-49 (4.3//12) and adults 25-54 (5.6/14).

SURVIVOR improved the year-ago time period by +84% in viewers, +79% in adults 18-49 and +87% in adults 25-54, while also improving upon last season's Thursday performance by 1% in viewers and +4% in adults 25-54.

The current spring edition, SURVIVOR: REDEMPTION ISLAND which features the new redemption island format, continues to perform strongly opposite "American Idol," averaging 11.70 million viewers, 3.4/10 in adults 18-49 and 4.6/11 in adults 25-54 while improving the year-ago time period by +150% in viewers, +162% in adults 18-49 and +156% in adults 25-54.

The groundbreaking reality series, which premiered in May 2000, won an Emmy Award in 2001 in the category of "Outstanding Non-Fiction Program" (Special Class).  Host Jeff Probst is a three-time Emmy Award winner in the category of "Outstanding Host for a Reality or Reality Competition Series."
