Buses to Vina del Mar are *very* frequent; perhaps TPTB wanted a way to separate the teams (though it's due to taxi luck  :groan:)

I have to think there's some other way that the teams will be separated, be it something in the start line or something in Santiago.

remember this is leg one.... so there's going to be major bunching early in this leg due to the mandatory "first leg mandatory rest period".  At most they will be separated by 15-30 minutes after the rest.  Also, given there's only one major task in this leg, it's going to come down to a major slip up or footrace to the pitstop, IMHO.   ;D

This HAS to be another Dep. Times. I think it should be obvious to have some buses/clues given at different times the following day, after their arrival. We just have to locate some things more, as usually, the first leg of the race is the one with the less clues, no DT or RB...

However, if they are arriving at noon or 1 or 2 PM, that's not the usual times to grab departure times. Should we think that TAR 16 break that "rule"??

Okay...the Dallas flight to Santiago has left the gate...and NO teams were spotted there.
???

I CANNOT believe I'm spoiler-ing again. I told myself not to. Stupid curiosity. I blame the Sucks posters for posting a Chile TAR16 spoiler in the TAR15 spoiler thread. :funny:

Is there a chance teams took a flight going thru Buenos Aires?

Raymond, I originally thought your idea was far-fetched because Buenos Aires is 1 times zones and about 1000 miles east of Santiago. However, working backward there are 2 flights which have already departed from EZE by now (AR400, LA 4630) which land before or at the same time as the flights indicated from Miami or Dallas. If continue backward you find that the only find which can connect with them is based on AA4473 from LAX nonstop to Lima. Since that flight continues direct to Santiago, there is little possbility that teams got off and went 1000 x 2 miles out of their way to get to Santiago. so, the bottom line is that your idea has greater than a 0 probability, but is very unlikely.

Problem is, it's Wikipedia. I could go on there and edit it to have them going to the North Pole to visit Santa, but that doesnt' make it so.

Don't look at that. I was looking at that last night and it never moved from the Carribean for over 2 hours so I went back to Flight Tracker and low and behold they were crossing Panama almost into S.A haha

What do you think about teams going to Canada, through Denver and Detroit, and be asked to make people think they are going to Santiago by looking for flights/info in some places in Chile? Maybe they are told to "decoy" themselves this way??

Peach told that no teams had been seen in a flight to Santiago??

We KNOW they went to Santiago.

We KNOW they used the Miami flight.

They were not seen in DFW however on the expected flight....but there is a maybe 1% chance  they could have been preboarded not via the gate itself...PURE SPEC!

There are just no other good flights that fit the necessary time frame ... esp as all teams were seen in the AA area at the same time in LAX.

And don't forget the dude at LAX who had his laptop used by a team to research Chile, somehow I doubt producers told them to do that to throw people off. And I also doubt they were bored and decided to research Chile if they were really going to Canada. I know if I were on that race and going to Chile, specifically directed to a certain place and had the time, I'd be researching the hell out of it to figure out how to get there and such. I might even be calling ahead to find a good cabbie that could get me there quick.
