Can we speculate that CBS revealed the route to us for the past three seasons is because we can outright trace where teams are going?

If we could not trace where they are right now, maybe CBS won't release it?

Oh yeah, this TAR is very exciting with the lack of spoilers, maybe TPTB and WRP are making sure that no leakages would happen and giving out suits to anyone they meet seeing the teams race.  :cmaslol :cmaslol :cmaslol :cmaslol :cmaslol

I don't think they'll be using Bali anytime soon either.

Joy of joys, only one of these places are locked out due to travel warnings.
Following this from the sightings thread - cross off Russia - the sun will have set by 5:45pm. Same with Beijing.

You could actually cross a lot of those off due to the sun having set. In fact, the only place on that list that IS in the Southern Hemisphere is Australia. But, I don't know if it gets dark in the countries closer to the equator later or not.

Sunrise/sunset information is easily available through Weather Underground, http://www.wunderground.com, and from what I understand, other websites as well.

For December 15th:

Bandar Seri Begawan, Brunei Darussalam
(Bandar, Indonesia)
6:15 AM WIT     6:16 PM WIT

Perth, Australia
5:04 AM WST     7:18 PM WST

Shanghai, China
6:45 AM CST     4:52 PM CST

Hong Kong, China
6:56 AM CST     5:42 PM CST

Bali, Indonesia
Uses Jakarta, Indonesia)
5:32 AM WIT     6:02 PM WIT

Kuala Lumpur, MALAYSIA
7:10 AM MYT     7:07 PM MYT

Singapore, Singapore
6:57 AM SGT     7:00 PM SGT

Macao, MACAU
6:57 AM CST     5:44 PM CST

Taipei, TAIWAN
6:31 AM CST     5:06 PM CST

Assuming the longitude is being translated correctly, as well as the time, then quite a few of those locations would not match the bright daylight seen through the windows behind Phil in that photo.

That "bright daylight" looks to me as though it could also be artificial lighting.... like a well lit airport for example. If so, we can't make any intrepretations based on that.

Anyone else getting hungry from searching McDonald's pics?  :pickle:

The Changi Airport McDonald's looks the most promising to me so far with the red wall at the cash registers/lighting combo, but nothing concrete.

There have been some murmurs here about the Race being in Singapore, fwiw.

Today....the guy who posted it hasn't posted anything else remotely TAR related before though from what I can tell...only thing close is the picture of the Wynn that I posted in the Tweets thread which I feel may confirm him as a staffer since it should be around the time of 15's final.

TAR 15 was in Las Vegas around Aug 7 of this year.  The race hadn't even started in June when he posted that pic.

As for the artificial lighting, FWIW, the McDonald's at the Shanghai Hongqiao airport looks like it can be accessed from outside...

But I think woden is on to something with Changi!! The background behind Phil is juuuuust barely visible behind the fence...plus the skylighting could definitely give off an outdoorsy feel!

Yeah, Singapore could be the location of where that photo was taken.  I looked at pictures of the singapore airport mcdonalds on flickr and its very similar.

Neobie will be back online later tonight...but meanwhile he says that THIS:

Quote
yup, its in singapore. today a girl come to my store kinokuniya at takashimaya to ask me some questions regarding the race. ( how much is spent ) but didn not see a filming crew though.

>>is a bookstore on the 4th floor of a mall, and can't imagine why the race would be there.

Also:

THIS:

Quote
the amazing race cluebox at bukit batok, between bukit batok and jurong east

>>is apparently an out of the way spot with nothing major for racers either.

More from him later, but this doesn't sound very promising.

mj...why don't you post some of those pics? That would be helpful.

I just read something about the McDonalds staff with red shirts in one of the other threads.

I don't know if this helps, but here in Sydney, Australia, they wear brown shirts at the McDonalds. It could be different for Perth though. :cmas5
I'd rather walk alone than let them throw dirty confetti. ♥

I don't post here very often but always check out this site when the race in on. I'm from Sydney.

Two points I would like to make:

1. Photo of the McDonalds looks very Asian to me, looking at the people in the background and the layout etc. Could be a McDonalds in Kuala Lumpur airport cause I was there for 3 hours in transit a couple of years ago, I didn't recall a McDonalds there at the time but there was a Burger King layout very similar to that in the pic, a lot of the stores were enclosed rather than "open plan" stores. Perth airport is an open layout food court I think, so I wouldn't think its there. The major SE Asian airports are major hubs too so it could just be a transit thing. Hope they are on their way to Australia!

2. Germany speculation could be just Frankfurt airport which is a major hub airport so they could have gone from South America to Africa via Frankfurt.

I am new here. I was looking for Singapore Mcdonalds airport. Than I found it was at terminal 3 and then I found this persons picture. It looks like the chairs could match and the wall off to the right in the photo. I am new here and not as good as you all are so wanted to post and let he "experts" take and look and let me know what they think. Here is the link to the flickr and photo.

http://www.flickr.com/photos/danwoo/2317634535/

And in the tags it lists singapore, changi airport, mcdonalds, terminal 3. Hope this helps
