If I see one more wishlist anywhere but the wishlists/destination threads that person will be banned! Cripes already!

pick one, anyone please!

Just for a refresher, what's the border between destination spec and wishlist?
The story so far:
In the beginning the Universe was created.
This has made a lot of people very angry and has been widely regarded as a bad move

Speculation: Where you think the Race will go this season.
Wishlist: Where you would wish the Race would go this season.

Yeah, I think a speculation and a wishlist is almost the same as one, can the admins expound on what we can write or not so that we won't see our messages suddenly deleted or "knocked off?"

I'll answer to your question, Caelestor.

1st confirm report: Santiago, Chile.

Speculation: I'm guessing it'll be 5 continents namely: South America, Oceania, Asia, Europe and North America (from south to westward w/c similar to TAR 13).

Wishlists: I hope they should go to Easter Island, Vanuatu, Australia, Philippines, Nepal, Qatar, Bahrain, Belgium, Luxembourg, Ireland and Canada after Chile.

note: I'd made a bold letter in the Phils. because I live there and hopefully they'll revisit there for this season. :waves:

We are talking about TAR 16 here...what is possible, observed, spoiled, practical.

If it is something you just dream up and think would be nice, or pull out of thin air...That is fantasy and belongs in the wish threads.

SPEC: Could they actually come up a race route consisting of South America, Oceania, Asia and North America only, like circling the Pacific?

Most of you have been here long enough to know that we loathe wish-lists in the spoiler threads. Like I wrote, there are plenty of wish-lists/destination topics already in the discussion thread. This topic is to speculate on the sightings not fantasy game wish-lists okay?  for example "I hope they come to Philippines!!!" o_O

Keep it about TAR 16...maybe it will help to think of this as speculation on the spoilers?? Not general all over the map ramblings.

Like poor tired peach is doing right now. :lol3:

So, is there any room to speculate while we know where the teams are exactly right now?

Not much specifically, only the general nature of the route (and perhaps maybe a potential meat-eating roadblock).

Yup, nothing specific  but timewise if what our wonderful sleuthers here gathered was right, the teams should be getting close to Chile right now, I'd say within 45 minutes of landing in Santiago.

Here's one for streaming video traffic cams at Vina Del Mar:

Although I can't get it to load for the life of me.

But this link worked:

Big thanks YY!! great find!! While I am not sure we can tell much from drive bys, camera 9 ave espana con ave marina is nearly to Castillo Wulff, so yes please, ya'all keep an eye out!

http://www.vinadelmar.cl/index.php

google map link:
http://maps.google.com/maps?f=d&source=s_d&saddr=Bus+Terminal,+Valparaiso&daddr=wulff+castle+Valparaiso+Chile&hl=en&geocode=FYC-B_4dIV-7-yH71hS3D5l9Qw%3B&mra=ls&sll=-33.033251,-71.447877&sspn=0.231701,0.527&ie=UTF8&ll=-33.028563,-71.573911&spn=0.028964,0.065875&z=15

As far as timing...teams on the Miami flight should be arr Santiago any time now, if teams slipped past us in Dallas (which I doubt) they should be on the ground now.

They then have to take a bus to Valparaiso, which is I think is about 80km (??) away...so allow maybe a couple of hours++ to get thru customs, catch a bus, drive there ?? Of course we don't know if this is a pull a tag and wait kind of bus either.

Someone mentioned the World Clock site for world time conversions last night, and I've had it as a bookmark since about 2001:

http://www.timeanddate.com/worldclock/

Santiago is currently 2 hours ahead of the eastern stand time in the US and Canada. They are currently om Daylight Savings Time in Chile, which accounts for one hour of the difference right there. For the Racers, though the change is five hours ahead of Los Angeles, or the same difference between the eastern time zone and Greenwhich time or UTC.

That site lists a number of major world cities, but it is possible to check intermediate locations as well.

A second source is our old weather history standby, Weather Underground (http://www.wunderground.com/). It will tell you the current time for any airport location, and any location that is covered by a weather forecast from a country's weather service. It also has astronomical information about sunrise/sunset times, etc.

Valparaiso weather information is based on the Santiago airport, and its sunny with scattered clouds today with a forecast high of 75F and a low of 53F tonight. Sunset is at 8"30 pm local time, so there should be plenty of time for a task or two before sunset tonight.  (Page link for the Valparaiso information (http://www.wunderground.com/cgi-bin/findweather/getForecast?query=Valparaiso,%20Chile&wuSelect=WEATHER)

So when do they land? or when did they land?
