Not sure if these tweets are anything but i saw them today:

@amalinavina
im so pooped from the amazing race today. i have no idea being a station master can be this tedious. gawd.
about 6 hours ago from web

From someone in Buenos Aires,
@bEluM
En the amazing race están en Xcaret Cacun!!! Yo estuve ahí!! Es increíble
about 15 hours ago from Twitterrific

Transalted: "In The Amazing Race are Cacun Xcaret! I was there! It's incredible"

but she follows up with:

I may have lied about something I said earlier today..
about 15 hours ago from Twitterrific

and this

Truth is, there's a pair that caught my attention the moment I laid eyes on them.
about 14 hours ago from Twitterrific

But why would there be a sighting if them STILL in South America?

The first tweet seems like someone who was doing something with a group, company or church. the second person is saying something about another amazing race on tv, they were in cancun and see visted there before. nothing to do with our TAR... IMHO

I think it was for TAR: LA

looks like the person misspelled Cancun in haste

that race was in Cancun for the previous leg, which aired on Sunday

A re-run was aired today
The story so far:
In the beginning the Universe was created.
This has made a lot of people very angry and has been widely regarded as a bad move

Does this mean anything?

Um highlight: ter visto uma etapa do Amazing Race de algum canto do mundo acontecer na minha frente no aeroporto de SP.  :cmas5

I Googled the translation and it is Portuguese:
highlight: seeing a step in the Amazing Race in any corner of the world happen in front of me at the airport of SP.

Is it common to not have many clues or sightings. This is my first year following spoilers while they race so not sure if this  is common to not have very many sightings

It tends to vary between seasons.  Last season had pretty much every leg spoiled (only 2 legs technically weren't officially spoiled IIRC: Cai Be, Vietnam and the second leg in Dubai, UAE).  Season 13 had a decent amount of spoilers, but there were even more legs where we had no clue where they were going until the map release.  So this season is just a little dry.  It happens.  Spoilers might not start leaking in for weeks, maybe even until right before CBS releases the map.

No idea, I see people have tweeted the guy and got nothing I am thinking he is staff maybe and so he wouldn't be able to tell us where they are, if I had to guess I would guess it was an airport and looks like maybe it is in Asia.

Strange - the picture was taken and sent from a Blackberry - so no gps info. EXIF says photo taken 2009-12-14 00:45:05 -05:00 .
But the user does have a IPhone gps location thing on his twitter account - which gives us 34.428921,-118.553894 - somewhere in Santa Clarita CA.

Location iPhone: 34.428921,-118.553894

Could they be GPS co-ordinates, etc?

fwiw I punched the number into google maps and got a location in California.

Hmmm....

If somebody can enhance the photo and get a good look at the watches, then at least we'll know what timezone they are in?

5:45?  :duno:

If it is 5:45 and the exif data can be trusted, we are looking at +17 hours PST (e.g. Tokyo, Seoul, etc).

If we take the time as 5:45 (Assumes PM due to the brightness outside) Then that gives us a time offset of about 8-12 hours from walkingpneumonia's time. Assuming that the time given from WP is Toronto time (the location listed on your profile) It could be anywhere from about Bangkok, Hanoi and Jakarta all the way across to Auckland, or anywhere in between.

Are there any countries we can cross out for security reasons and alike?

Clearly, I don't know enough about international relations

EXIF says photo taken 2009-12-14 00:45:05 -05:00 - which is the time and timezone on the camera. You're still correct though - it would be east coast time (EST) if they haven't reset their camera time to wherever it is they are.

If it really is 5:45 local time - it is probably in the southern hemisphere - the sun has long since set in - for instance Russia...
