Do you think Wayne Newton will actually appear on TAR?

According to the description from Directv:  The final three teams count out a large amount of poker chips and race to see Mr. Las Vegas, who holds the final clue to the $1 million prize.

I take it Wayne Newton hands them the final clue to his home, Casa de Shenandoah.

On a side note...I didn't know that was his house!  I've passed by that place a few times!

Puddin, can you grab a frame in this taxi clip that is as clear as this one but later on, like the last one before the clip ends?

Thanks Puddin!  That is a very good picture.

This shot was taken between 2:03 and 2:14 pm (assumes August 7th).

It's just a rhetorical question, but how in the world did they send people rappelling down the side of a roughly 20 story building amidst thousands of tourists with video cameras and still cameras and have nobody notice it?  :duno: :duno: :duno: I suppose it's possible that people did see it and didn't connect it to the Amazing Race, but still, I would have thought that the word would have gotten out somehow.

Are you kidding?  They film stuff here all the time.  And weird stunts are performed every day 24/7 here on the Strip.  Probably didn't connect it to TAR if it was seen. All they do is block off the street or parts of the hotel from tourists or traffic. This video appears as they are in the back or one of the sides at Mandalay Bay rapelling down.

The fellow at Graceland might be Brendan Paul. I'm curious about the task there; if it's just witness a live wedding (or even a fake wedding), then it's a FiFo task that doesn't allow any team to move ahead.

It was a fake wedding with employees acting as the bride and groom.

After giving it some more thought, I believe you (and Chateau, who made a similar point) are right. It's been about 15 years since I've been to Las Vegas and I can recall that the front of the hotels along the Strip was alive with people and activity. However, if you were on a side street a block or two over from the Strip and behind a hotel, there wasn't much going on. Since they were repelling down the back side of Mandalay Bay, that probably kept the onlookers to a minimum. For all I know, 50 people posted tweets and blog entries about they saw stunt men repelling down a building for a movie being made in Las Vegas and we would never have spotted it since they didn't refer to the Amazing Race.

Vegas is a zoo, circus and roman feast all in one. It is a perfect place to "hide in plain sight." It is so hedonistic and me centered, its amazing to me that we got as much info as we did from that leg.

ANTM13 already visited Cirque do Soleil  ;D

I also think, there's no roadblock? or it's the poker chips?

So do they go through immigration/customs at McCarran?

I'm making a complete guess here:

The teams de-plane UA 551 at Terminal 2 by a special arrangement with the airport and airlines.  Then the flight continues to its regular gate in Terminal 1, thus making it 28 minutes late.  It's scheduled arrival time was 1:39 pm and its actual arrival time was 2:07 pm.

I made some preliminary shadow estimates of the time and they support this scenario.

Great brainstorming there Chateau.........it will surely be interesting to see what actually unfolds. Its going to take a lot of Jet fuel to move that plane from one terminal to the other. I did think it was possible that they changed gates/terminals for TAR and then let the teams deplane first and use the immigration/customs chute to bypass the other people in the regular part of airport. It will be fun to see if United Airlines gets a lot of free advertizing on Sunday.....

Notice that none of the racers hailing cabs at the airport have their large backpacks with them - just small daypacks.
Compare that with the decoys in Vegas - they had their full backpacks with them.

Where are their bags? Still at the baggage claim?
From there to here, and here to there,
funny things are everywhere

YOUR call????  lol

Chateau was the only one to guess the right chapel VS

I know there are several Elvis wedding places but I 'm going to put this one out as the one:  Graceland Chapel

Its location:

619 Las Vegas Blvd. South
Las Vegas, NV 89101

Google maps says it is 14 min from the airport

The flight from Chicago UA 551 (fastest route from Prague) landed at 2:07 pm.  If things going likitysplit then I can see them getting up to this chapel by about 2:30 pm.   :jam:

Maybe I guessed right!

You are correct!!
