What happened?! :ascared If the entire village burned down, then the Songwe Museum where leg 2 visited is gone too. :'( I've always wanted to go retrace the full Zambia adventure.

I believe it had always been a touristy thing rather than a real village.

What are some other places the race visited that don't exist any more? The Thu Thiem Cafe (TAR 3) was a wrecked shack when I visited five/six years ago - I'm not sure if it was a legit cafe in the first place though?

Traced throughout Chicago (homey :hrt:) already:

 Buckingham Fountain - went there a month ago for a friend's wedding photo op
 Chicago Water Tower - See it in the skyline almost everyday :)
 ORIGINAL Gino's East - live a few blocks from the place  :hearts: They serve great pizza, but the deep dish pizzas are rather pricey.
 P.T. Park (Ping Tom Park) - The only enjoyable park I've jogged in. :res:

I'm in Edinburgh right now and happened to walk by Niddry St South yesterday; it's got to be the most random place for a Pit Stop! A back-alley cul-de-sac with dumpsters and rubbish strewn around, let's just say it's not the Arc de Triomphe or the Great Wall of China!

Later yesterday evening I signed up for a night walking tour, and lo-and-behold the guide led us straight to... Niddry St South? The guide then opened a door I hadn't noticed before on the side of the alley, which led into the underbowels of the South Bridge: underground vaults supporting the viaduct above, later used for illicit activity and witch trials and torture...

Remember the greeter being Dr Jekyll/Mr Hyde? I'm wondering if they had the underground vaults on that street in mind when they chose the Pit Stop?

Neobie, I actually went into The Vaults for a tour and I was on the exact same street that the Pit-stop location last year this time. Obviously I didn't take any picture because I didn't think there's ANYTHING memorable about the place... :'( :gaah:

EDIT: I took some photos ZOMG. I went to my album and found some!! NO WONDER THAT ROAD LOOKS SO FAMILIAR. Gosh I'm such a failure. I've been to a Pitstop location and not recognizing it ON TV. :groan: )-**

What the inside of the vault looks like. With this, I think they actually wanted to have the pitstop inside the vaults? Could it be possible? There are really scary stories inside and I don't want to know if Phil's crazy enough to stay inside for hours to wait for the teams...

Omg, so excited right now!

I found a another race relic last week! Guess where?

(Unlike the race flag I stole in Bangkok this one has been around for a while, and cobwebs had started growing behind the arrow and the wall and over all the velcro. I wasn't going to pry it off!)
