And if you think I can do PowerPoint or iMovie, you have a much inflated opinion of my skills! :lol3:

I feel ya, GP. I swear I make the firm IT guy and all the paralegals cry - "Say, Claire, can you remind me for the 1524th time how to work this Lexis-Nexis thingie?" And Fred, the IT guy, stopped returning my calls  :funny:

I've a feeling we're gonna uncover people crazier than me!

But here's one location I feel for, heck, it's five minutes away from my apartment!

Destination: Old Kennedy Town Police Quarters
Route Marker: Roadblock, Hong Kong TAR 11
Pictures taken: August 2007

This place used to serve as a police dormitory, but as I recall, it has been abandoned ever since I started going to kindergarten on the same hill (back in the early 1990s). For some reason the government never decided to demolish it, instead leasing it out for random film shoots like Hong Kong police/thief dramas.

The MTR (Hong Kong's subway) recently announced plans to extend the Island Line west, placing a station right about where the buildings stand. As of now, they're slated to be demolished the first half of next year, victims of Hong Kong's perpetual property boom.

Which brings us to the trip. With the three blocks doomed to the wrecking ball, security is tight and a couple of survey teams and construction workers mill about throughout the day. It's guarded by a gentle but firm Sikh, and apparently 'student wishing to take photographs of Hong Kong's cultural heritage before it is destroyed by the soulless government' didn't work very well as an alibi.

So I sneaked in by walking along/inside a drain and sliding down an unfenced concrete reinforcement wall behind the complex... strolled out nonchalantly through a workers' entrance when I was done!

It's one of my big :groan: moments... While Dustin/Kandice and Charla/Mirna were pulling junks across the model boat pond, I was in the library across the park on my laptop, reading about them escorted by Izad in Kuala Lumpur the day before.

No actual encounters or Dustin/Kandice would have beaten Oswald/Danny to the Pit Stop.

And all day I was listening to Westlife's version of Total Eclipse of the Heart: "Turn around, bright eyes..."

I'll be at Aberdeen Bus Station from season 3 on Friday so will take a photo then, but it's just been redone so looks a whole lot different, may take a trip down to Dunotter Castle on Sat as my g/f hasn't seen it yet and Stonehaven is a pretty cool village to take her to see.

Literally retracing a part of Season 14 and a crossover with Season 3

Going from Salzburg to Münich

Some views of Castle Neuschwanstein (Pit Stop for Leg 7 in TAR 3)

The story so far:
In the beginning the Universe was created.
This has made a lot of people very angry and has been widely regarded as a bad move

:groan: So all the places I have ever lived in/visited have not been used in the Amazing Race yet:
NorCal ( i guess they've been to San Fran, but I don't have pictures right now... :'()
Reno/Lake Tahoe
Anaheim
San Diego/Tijuana
Baja California
Nayarit, Mexico
Pittsburgh area
Guayaquil, Ecuador (why haven't they gone here yet?!  (:;))
Chiclayo, Peru
Iquitos, Peru

I have been to Miami, L.A., and Phoenix, but most times they were just stop overs or just passing thru, so no pictures here

I will be going to Rome in March, so I'll be sure to get some monuments they used there  :yess:

Bringing up this old topic - inspired by the Perth topic. Here is the Kappeli Cafe in Helsinki from season 10. Picture taken in May 2, 2010.

And here is the Olympic Stadium from Helsinki. Picture taken in May 23, 2010.

In case you're wondering why the photo taken was so dark.. it's because it was going to rain. It was taken on my last day in Taiwan and after I returned back to my home country, a series of monsoons hit Taiwan..

Stonehenge, Route Marker TAR 17
"Three naked men" of Hammersmith, Detour TAR 7

Neobie, stop making the whole world be jealous of you all over again.

Anyway, i'm currently in Phuket right now.. but no, i'm not going to Phuket Zoo to visit Esso the Tiger nor the pitstop for the leg at some temple or what.. those aren't even local attractions. Don't even know why TAR chose to visit these places..
