Japan and Vietnam already for the first episode? Does this make 10 legs only?

Leg 1 Japan
Leg 2 Vietnam
Leg 3 Cambodia
Leg 4 UAE
Leg 5 UAE
Leg 6 Netherlands
Leg 7 Sweden
Leg 8 Estonia
Leg 9 CZ Republic
Leg 10 Las Vegas???

Or could Vietnam/Cambodia have two legs??? O_o I'm puzzled!

  • Is it really that time again?
I'm completely unfamiliar with the regular viewing schedule, but does TAR normally run for 2 hours (8:00 -> 10:00)?

If not, then maybe its a double length episode (or something to that effect)?

I seriously thought it will be 2 hours worth of Japan to make the trip worth it. :ascared

The two hour Intro came after the date change due to the Emmy shuffle, so we always thought the Intro would be two separate legs.
'The good news here is that we didn't miss anywhere! :yess:

Now...to make it fit: Blue is spec
Seems that either Tokyo is an extended Pitstop... OR there is more to VietNam than just HCMC (Mekong Delta??)

We have teams dep LAX 7/18
ARR Tokyo 7/19 (time change) between 403 and 417PM depending on the flight.
7/19 Get clues>>overnight bunch
7/20 Tasks >>Pitstop
7/21 either on to Nam or extended Pitstop in Tokyo
so Nam is either extended tasks 7/21 to 7/23 Pitstop
OR
dep to HCMC on 7/22 not 7/21

7/23 teams seen running to the Mat in HCMC

Mooyou, I think you may have it. Is there 2 eliminations in the first leg(Japan) and 1 in the second leg (Vietnam)? Precedent from AR10 suggests that there will be. Will there be a compensating leg added by doubling up elsewhere (other than UAE which is already slated by our thinking to be a double leg)? The most logical places to do that would be Japan or Vietnam, but the timing is not propitious. I think we will actually see only 10 legs: 8 elimination points (2 in the first leg), 1 final leg and the usual 3 NELs/TBCs.

I suspect it could be two legs in Vietnam. Prior visits to Vietnam have been two legs, IIRC, and a 10=week season would create a December schedule with no TAR.

Oh, no Kyoto then  :'(

Looks like Vietnam is in for two episodes as before (anybody notice the six-season interval between Vietnam visits and three-season interval between Japan visits). I sense a triple elimination.

Might wanna fix the timeline on the spoiler thread.

"Match the logo, not the number ... "

So they are given the state's license plate picture pattern?

Like Colorado has to Rocky Mountain along the top.  I see two California plates.

Where does luck come into it?

But I thought it wasn't the numbers...it was the LOGO.

Maybe he was confused.

I'm hearing 'find the correct plate' in the promo?

Maybe they get to look at the plate they are seeking and then have to run over to the fence to find it.

Love the title, looks like the teams are surprised when Phil announces the beginning task, but who could be first out?

Uh, so what happened to the 2nd pitstop in Japan?
Is the 2nd pitstop a virtual pitstop?
Are there 3 pitstops in the premiere?

I'm going to make the guess that the challenge was to see if teams would read the clue and properly interpret it.  It says to 'match the plate'.

So that means ignore the number on the plate.   That is why there are so many different kinds or plates from so many different states.

They have a picture of a plate from, say, Georgia and the number on it is 2SDF 764.  The correct choice will prove to be a plate from Georgia with the same peach stamp on it.  And that plate will have its own random numbers on it.

Fail to see this and you get to pick the best suite in Sequesterville.
