premier

I have a pet peeve about this word. As spelled, it means the head position in certain forms of government, sometimes used interchangably with "prime minister."

The word you are lookimg for is "premiere."

I really don't want to undermine the schnauzers point because I believe in good spelling and grammar and use of the correct word. However, the word premier in its current usage can occasionally mean first, which for an event is also the main definition of premiere. In the case in question which started this line of logic, the word "premier" was mixed with the word "premiere." I consider that unacceptable and with the schnauzers I strongly prefer the use of "premiere" for such events.

From the CBS TAR site linked above^^

Is this an unaired task from last season?  I seem to recall Luke telling us about it.

2old4tech,

You are looking at the "missing time frame" for the AR14 Guilin leg. We know that teams arrive there early enough to accomplish something that evening yet no tasks were televised. The production plan had them walking up the Folding Brocade Mountain/Hill to apparently sleep outdoors somewhere near the top, then descend the next morning to get to the beauty salon. Your photo is on the walk either up or down Folding Brocade Mountain/Hill.

So I figured that this is most likely the best place to discuss this question: When will the cast release be? We may already know who they are (see spoilers), but for me it is still very exciting to "officially" meet the cast for the first time.

I seem to recall that previous releases were usually on a Monday, thus I would think it would be tomorrow (Monday), but the problem is Labor Day. Do we think they will do it on Tuesday instead, or go ahead with Monday regardless?

Or will they pull something drastic on us and wait until the day the show begins? :ascared

Hooky, it's senseless to lose any sleep on something you have no control over. We are inside of 3 weeks prior so it could be any of the next 20 days, but unlikely to be in the week starting Sept. 20.

I'm not trying to "lose sleep" or bring forward whatever unusual idea about my question you may have, I'm just trying to address the fact that even if the cast were released now it would be a rather late release, wouldn't it? Anyone who has expertise in this area want to enlighten me?

Am I to assume that they'll be unveiling the route map again along with the teams?

It would certainly help with some parts (leg 2, another possible TBC).

'The Amazing Race': Is UCF's Miss America taking part?
posted by halboedeker on Sep 8, 2009 8:16:20 AM

Is Orlando native Ericka Dunlap -- Miss America 2004 -- on "The Amazing Race" this season?

That's the hot rumor on the Internet. CBS won't announce the cast until tomorrow.

Dunlap earned a degree in advertising and public relations from the University of Central Florida. She was the first African-American to win the Miss Florida title. (Dunlap is pictured enjoying her victory after being crowned Miss America in 2003.)

According to Internet buzz, Dunlap and her husband, Brian Kleinschmidt, are taking part in the CBS show.

The 15th edition of "The Amazing Race" will have a two-hour premiere at 8 p.m. Sept. 27.

The author of the article you cited is a good reason to keep a few grains of salt (or a whole bag) with you at all times. See here about the misinformation (polite word) spread by producers about TAR12. (But I still agree: Peach is right)
