I'm watching 3 flights from Prague today:

DL 63 to Atlanta - arrives 15:35 -
OK 50 to JFK - arrives 14:15 (currently 34 minutes late)
OK 102 to Toronto - arrives 14:03 (currently 27 minutes early)

I'll be waiting by the exit from immigration in Toronto... you just never know what could happen. :colors

I'd have to buy a ticket to somewhere to be on the concourse here ...but with the slightest clue I will! :jumpy:

You don't have to be on the concourse,  all international flights including DL63 would have to arrive through the International Arrival Gate in the North Terminal (T) which is open to all without a need for a ticket.  After exiting International they would then proceed to a connecting gate or to the taxi line.  But I think that if they arrive in Atlanta, they would stay in Atlanta.

I still like Swan House or Bobby Dodd Stadium as possible final pit stops.

see the spec thread GMan! :kuss:

Just did, don't forget your camera.  I'm with you on Atlanta as a final city.  I just have a gut feeling about it, chemos or not.

Nope, doesn't work that way here GMAN.

I can go, but I can only see if they exit the concourses heading to ground transport. There is one exit spot for that which would cover all except for one terminal... If they transit, I need a ticket but could def be right at the INT exit/customs point.

To go onto INT or any concourse, requires a boarding pass, trust me. And if I could find a cheap flight for today, I would even do that, but CHEAP is the operative word, lol.

If somebody can spot a cheap one way ATL to nowhere/anywhere, let me know. Soon.

Peach, I have met many foreign TV crews arriving in Atlanta and I always could meet them right outside the INT/Customs exit.  I never needed a boarding pass to do that. And I don't think that they would be connecting to anywhere, if they arrive in ATL, they will stay in Atlanta.

Can't do that anymore GMAN. :(

INT is behind security now, in the most distant terminal. I fly via there a lot.  Need a ticket to anywhere to go past securty. But could hang out in arrivals, all except the T gate exit one place.

OK, Peach, take your word for it. :hearts:  Admitedly I haven't been at ATL in awhile, and a Diplomatic passport did help me get around.  But I think arrivals will be your best bet; if they arrive in Atlanta, I am sure they will stay in Atlanta.  Especially if the arrive at 3:35 it would not leave them that much time to do a task or two and still arrive at the final mat while it is still daylight.  How is the weather besides being hot?  Rainy and cool up here in Virginia today. Go early and you will have time for a pint or two  :jam:

Twitter is currently experiencing a DOS attack - so they say. I would have expected someone to twitter about our racers today...
Maybe its TPTB trying to throw us off the scent.

Assuming a flight to Atlanta is direct without any connectionsw in the US, then teams have to go through Immigration and Customs Enforement before teams and crews can grab taxis, a pre-positioned rental vehicle, or the subway/ (And there is a subway station inside the airport terminal.)

IIRC one would need three people to cover the choke points for people coming out of ICE to reach the three alternate forms of transportation going out from the airport.

out of ICE IF I had a ticket, I could 100% see them.

I think there may be an 85% shot or better just in arrivals.

Okay...so who else wants to play 007? We need someone at LOGAN, DULLES, JFK,  Miami for sure....

I'll laugh if it is Atlanta. In happiness for Peach of course, but more because they'll be ending it in the hometown of one of the boards most prostegious members after we got the starting line on tape and camera!

They've already ended in NYC twice since 2001.  Boston would be nice though since it really hasn't been common to end TAR there.  That's not to say that they shouldn't.  I think the problem is that TAR is so big now, that it wouldn't be easy to keep things undisclosed in such a big city.  I think it'll happen in Boston someday, and maybe they'll save NYC for TAR18.

Take it for what its worth I was just over at http://mauritius1.webs.com/ to see if they had any updates, on the race being there, and what i found is this:

From our sources the route of the Race look like:

Leg 1: Los Angeles USA To Tokyo Japan

Leg 2: Tokyo Japan To Wonju South Korea

Leg 3: Wonju South Korea To Saigon Vietnam

Leg 4: Saigon Vietnam To Phnom Penh Cambodia

Leg 5: Phnom Penh Cambodia to Dubai, UAE

Leg 6: Dubai UAE to PORT LOUIS MAURITIUS

Leg 7: PORT LOUIS MAURITIUS To Bengazhi Libya

Leg 8: Bengazhi Libya to Zoutkamp, Netherlands

Leg 9: Zoutkamp Nethrlands to Stockholm Sweden

Leg 10: Stockholm Sweden to Tallinn Estonia

Leg 11: Tallinn Estonia to Prague Czech Republic

Leg 12: Prague Czech Republic to Toronto Canada to

              Atlanta, USA

This would imply that South Korea, Canada and Libya would be visited.

totally random and off topic but, i was just thinking:

what if this season doesn't have an NEL?

there is a slight chance of it happening but, only if all of these were the case:

a. There are in fact 12 teams
b. Two teams ARE NOT eliminated on the first leg
c. There are only 11 legs on this race
d. One pit stop ends up being the midpoint for a double length leg

it could look something like this:
Tokyo, Japan: 12th place
Leg 2: 11th place
HCMC, Vietnam: 10th place
Phnom Penh, Cambodia: 9th
Dubai, U.A.E.: 8th
Leg 6: 7th
Groningen, Netherlands: 6th
Stockholm, Sweden: TBC?
Tallinn, Estonia: 5th
Prague, Czech Republic: 4th
Final City, U.S.A.

NOTE: TBC could be anywhere, but i just stuck it on the sweden leg

this also works in favor of last team to complete starting line task not getting eliminated, but Speed Bumped, because there would be no other opportunity for that with no NEL's, and it would be a lovely twist, as opposed to the alternative.

Have TPTB hacked into Twitter to shut it down today so that the good, ole RFF detectives could not track the final three teams on their way to the USofA?  Atlanta still looks good.  Hope Peach can spot them.
