dslaybaugh: Here @ LAX & a couple from the show "Amazing Race" came rushing to the AA counter. Cameras & all. How fun

I think roflitsmel flies to London via Newark/Miami/Chicago/Toronto or (most likely) JFK with AA. And teams are flying to the destination Unknown with the same AA flight. We need to contact roflitsmel and ask for more info.  :yess:

gvelita seems like a United Airlines worker given an older tweet from 6/21: "Dennis [sic] Richards looked cute boarding UA flight to Maui with familia". Could be wrong

The Amazing Race 15 Location Spoilers

Okay.  I guess I will get the ball rolling:

Teams are on two flights out of LAX to Tokyo.

The best flight is American Airlines 169 leaving LAX at 12:45 pm and arriving at Tokyo NRT at 4:00 pm.

(there is a second code-shared AA flight but its arrival time is not consistent with "and they're only 30 minutes apart" overheard in shuttle regarding the arrival times of UA versus AA)

The other flight is United Airlines 891 leaving LAX at 1:13 pm and arriving NRT at 4:30 pm.

I only got a display capture for the United flight:

It's looking like there was a small startline task that teams had to complete before getting their clues:

Would love Bali, but after this week Indonesia doesn't seem like the place to be....   :(

The bombing in Jakarta is terrible and I give my grieving to the people hurt in the attack.  But this took place inside the capital city of Indonesia.  Last time I checked, Bali was attacked by bombings several years ago and nothing bad has happened since then.  So Bali is safe for teams if they ventured out to the countryside like to the open beaches, forests, parklands, and ancient temples/shrines.  Indonesia is safe because their government is trying hard as they can to make it a safe for tourists to enjoy the hospitallity of the islands.

We believe that teams left Narita by TAXI and proceded onto Shiba Park and Tokyo Tower.

They may have been looking for a "studio"  "green room" within Tokyo Towers.

The only "green room" reference I can find is for a Tokyo Tower Lounge by Curiousity, a studio house design featuring a contemporary green motif.

While the observation deck is open until 945 PM, which the racers should have been easily able to make after their 4-ish plane arrivals... I am not sure of the hours that the lounge is open? It is located on the 54th floor. General tower hours are 9AM-8PM.

The hours of op could determine if they would be sleeping in the Park or heading for another clue... :lol3:

And hopefully they all changed lots of $$, as the fixed taxi fare from Narita to that area would be Y210,000, which would be approx $200.

Wonder if teams needed to pay their entrance fees? 1640 yen for both adults. Their opening hours are 9am to 10pm, so i think every team should be able to make it to the tower within the time limit.

If TPTB are trying to save money, taking a taxi from NRT to Tokyo proper sure isn't the way to do it.
