Here we go then, 2 teams:
Team 1 - Casilda & Casilda (Mexico)http://www.tudiscovery.com/race/los_equipos_1.shtml
Casilda Creixell de Pérez de SalazarAge: 55 (mother of 3 daughters and proud grandmother of 3 grandchildren)
Occupation: children's events planner (the actual word used is "businesswoman" but I think it sounds awkward)
Personal characteristics: organized, intuitive, seasoned traveller, sociable
Casilda Pérez de Salazar CreixellAge: 30
Occupation: public relations (literally the actual term used is "communicator", which sounds REALLY weird in english but basically means PR or advertising or the like); currently takes care of her children (Xaviera, 2, and Jerónimo, 10 months) full time
Personal characteristics: strategic, daring, sociable, determined, tolerant
Even though Casilda, the mother, was initially reluctant to participate, her daughter's enthusiam (she's a fan of TAR) ended up infecting her. They both enjoy their family and believe that the personal skills that each of them will bring will be complementary.
Expectations: They hope this trip will be a time to enjoy their relationship, have intense experiences and learn about different cultures. For Casilda daughter it is also an opportunity to embark on a personal project after 2 years dedicating herself completely to her children.
Their relationship is very solid and they hope to complement each other. They've traveled together on several occasions and know they can resolve issues or problems together. Additionally, they are both tolerant ("we're both moms and so we're used to making sacrifices")
For Casilda mother, the competition is an opportunity to prove to herself that she can still take on new challenges.
Preparation: Casilda mother took up power walking and biking in a light training program. Casilda daughter decided to swim more often. They both read up on Latin America and watched several episodes of The Amazing Race. Casilda mother trained mentally to not dwell excessive on the what is ahead ("if you think too much, you end up not doing anything") y maintains a positive attitude.
What they fear most: Tasks requiring physical strength. Casilda mother doesn't like heights.
Prize: Casilda daughter wants to buy a home, ensure her children's education and donate part of the money to underprivileged children. Casilda mother will share the prize with her daughters and will put part of it away for retirement.
Team 4: Anna & Rodrigo (Brazil)http://www.tudiscovery.com/race/los_equipos_4.shtmlRodrigo Fernando AlegroAge: 29 años
Occupation: biologist
Personality: rational, practical
Anna Claudia Arestivo ArestivoAge: 28 años
Occupation: biologist
Personality: strong personality, determined
Anna and Rodrigo met 6 years ago on Christmas. Since then, they hope to spend the rest of their lives together. The best memory they share is the hard-earned opening of a salt-water aquarium shop (Solar Reef) that they co-own in Sao Paulo's Campo Belo neighbourhood.
Expectations: They hope to strenghten their relationship even more. They signed up looking to win and they openly admit that the prize is their biggest incentive. Anna considers herself a shy person and never thought she'd be part of a tv show ("I've come to have more faith in things, this experience is going to help me improve myself and to go after what I want")
Preparation: Anna is a tireless runner. She frequents the gym and is physically well-prepared. Rodrigo likes cycling. Both have seen every season of the (US version) of the show and believe that Rodrigo's strong suit will be the intellectual tasks. They also believe that the physical tasks may be their weakness.
What they fear most: They will both have to control their fears. Rodrigo has a tendency to get angry when he gets lost, and Anna thinks she will feel pressure from him to do things faster. They know there will be conflicts but hope to get past them quickly.
Prize: It will be used to pay bills, buy a house, extend the aquarium shop, and give them the financial peace of mind to allow them to plan for the arrival of their first child.
