American Idol Final 3 Pre-Performance Discussion

*SPOILER ALERT FOR FINAL 3 JUDGES SONG PICKS

Danny Gokey - "Dance Little Sister" by Terence Trent D'Arby

Kris Allen - "Apologize" by Timbaland and One Republic

Adam Lambert - "One" by U2.

And, i've lost all interest in the show now with Allison gone. It's like getting the soul sucked out of my body.

:funny: Not that bad. But i don't like Danny because i think he's weird. I don't like Kris because i think he's overrated. I don't like Adam because i think he's really really good. (Is that even a valid reason????) :funny:

And so, i'm whining because Allison is GONE!!!!!!!!!!!! :(

But anyway, i'll only take an Adam win. Anything other than that, i'll be pissed.

I hope it's a Danny and Adam F2 now. Because Kris would hands down lose to Adam.. at least Danny can help make the finale more interesting.

Milwaukee (Including Grandma!) Cheers Danny Gokey’s Return

Danny Gokey is so busy these days that even his grandmother can’t get in touch with him. But she finally did see the American Idol finalist — along with tens of thousands of other wildly screaming, shouting, sign-waving, cheering fans — during his hometown visit to Milwaukee on Friday.

“Your grandma’s here!” a crowd shouted as Gokey emerged from an AT&T store, where a text message from judge Paula Abdul popped up on a tricked-out cell phone he was handed, designed just for the Idol Top 3, telling him his song selection for next week. “I don’t know that,” he said. “I’m going to have to learn it.”

When he saw his grandmother, Dottie Stelter, 73, all they had time to do was exchange hugs and “I love you’s.” “They keep him so busy I have no chance to see him,” she said. “The public deserves to see him too, but at least I got my hug.”

After early morning stops at TV and radio shows, Gokey, 29, appeared at Faith Builders International Ministries, the church where he served as a musical director and where, just 10 months before, the funeral service was held for his wife Sophia, who died four weeks before his Idol audition of a congenital heart defect. Gokey sang two Christian-themed songs, joined at one point by his friend Jamar Rogers, who had been eliminated from Idol competition in an earlier round. It was all part of the Idol’s tradition of sending the finalists home again, with Adam Lambert going to San Diego and Kris Allen returning to Little Rock, Ark.

“Pray for my voice,” a hoarse-sounding Gokey told the crowd of more than 800 people packed inside. “You want me to be honest with you? I’m not that good.” The crowd clearly disagreed, responding with thunderous applause and shouts of encouragement.

His jam-packed day also included a parade through downtown Milwaukee streets and visits to such city landmarks as the Harley-Davidson Museum, a bronze statue of Fonzie of Happy Days fame and the Milwaukee Art Museum, designed by renowned architect Santiago Calatrava. Thousands of fans lined the streets and crowded around him at each stop. Gokey also performed a mini concert at the Summerfest fairgrounds, belting out a handful of songs including “PYT (Pretty Young Thing)” and “September.”

More than 25,000 fans, holding an array of signs including eyeglasses-shaped ones in honor of Gokey’s trademark look and others declaring, “Go! Go! Gokey!” and “I love your scream!”, went wild when it was declared Danny Gokey Day in the state. “It’s amazing. It’s unreal,” said Austin Grandinetti, 10, as he rocked out with his mother and brother. “He just seems like a really cool guy.” Another enthusiastic crowd greeted the singer as he threw out the first pitch and sang the National Anthem before a Milwaukee Brewers-Chicago Cubs game.

“My success came from this city,” Gokey told PEOPLE. “It gives me more incentive to show up when I sing,” he said. “I want to win the gold for my city.”

Kris Allen Rocks Arkansas in Frenzied Hometown Reunion

“It’s him! He’s here!” squealed the teenaged girl.

Right on both counts. For 24 frenzied hours, the young woman and tens of thousands like her got as much Kris Allen as they could maneuver themselves to see, hear and touch. Fresh from the latest round of Internet balloting that left him as one of three American Idol contestants still standing, Allen had come home to Arkansas. “It’s great to be back,” grinned the diminutive singer and guitarist.

Allen had little time to savor the comforts of home. From the moment a chartered Gulfstream jet returned him to Little Rock on Thursday night, Allen’s breakneck schedule — seen to by a phalanx of security men, minders and Fox television crew members — afforded him not much more than a few hours of solitude with family and friends.

The jet’s engines barely had stopped screaming than a motorcade delivered Allen to hundreds of shouting fans awaiting him at the Fox affiliate at Little Rock, which made a Kris-fest of its evening newscast: a lengthy live studio interview, the presentation by municipal officials of keys to the cities of Little Rock and Jacksonville (a nearby suburb where Allen spent part of his boyhood), and, naturally, a quick performance. Allen and his guitar delivered the Beatles’ storied “Come Together.”

“It’s a lot of pressure, but it’s a lot of fun, too,” Allen told PEOPLE, smiling as he autographed his way to his limousine though the station’s fan-crammed corridor. Surveying the throng, he added: “It’s definitely more than I expected.”

Allen’s expectations of the following day were, by that standard, likely undersized. The audiences were not: More than 3,000 fans filled a Little Rock riverfront amphitheater to overflowing for a free, if brief, concert with Allen relying on personal favorites: “She Works Hard for the Money,” “Falling Softly” and “Ain’t No Sunshine.”

A half-hour away at Conway, Allen’s hometown, 1,200 tickets for a second free concert were gone minutes after the box office opened, dispensed to fans who began lining up before dawn. First in line were two 14-year-olds (escorted by the mother of one of them).

“You can tell from the way he sings and acts that he’s very humble and a good Christian,” said, Alexis LaPlante, who attends the same church as Allen. “He remembers where he came from,” agreed her companion, Brianna Swindle, also a resident of Greenbrier, Ark., near Conway.

“I grew up that way. My parents raised me that way,” Allen told PEOPLE. “It’s not trying to push God on people, it’s just being who I am.”

( Similar hoopla greeted the hometown visits of Adam Lambert in San Diego and Danny Gokey in Milwaukee.)

One performance remained in Allen’s homecoming, a finale that attracted an estimated 20,000 people to a downtown park and brought the small town to a standstill. Then came more official honors, from the Speaker of the Arkansas House of Representatives and the city of Conway, and more music: “Man in the Mirror,” in addition to “Softly” and “Works Hard.”

“He’s got the prettiest smile, and he’s just a nice person, “cooed Jean Dozier, 64, waving goodbye as Allen departed the stage. “He deserves every bit of this.”

Adam Lambert Gets an Idol’s Welcome from His Hometown of San Diego

Before Adam Lambert hopped into the stretch limousine that would take him all over his hometown of San Diego, the American Idol contestant was asked if he was ready for what the day had in store.

“I don’t know if I am,” he replied with a look of trepidation.

If Lambert, 27, wasn’t ready for the utter fan-demonium that lay ahead Friday, he handled it like a pro, from his 7 a.m. impromptu attempt to read San Diego’s Fox 5 News viewers their weather and traffic reports on a green screen, to holding up his limo’s departure from the Marine Corps Air Station in Miramar, to comfort a crying little girl who wanted to meet Lambert.

“I feel so much support and love,” he told PEOPLE at the end of the day. From the 7,000 screaming fans who turned up at Mount Carmel High School to the fans who pounded on the windows at the studio of his local radio station, 94.1, where he was interviewed by the station’s popular Jeff and Jer, Lambert got plenty of support — even from those who didn’t receive it (even literally) from him earlier in his life.

Alison Bretches, now the artistic director at the Metropolitan Educational Theater Network in Poway, Calif., recalled performing with Lambert when they were both kids. “I remember (doing) The Wiz. He was the scarecrow, and I remember him dropping me on my head,” she laughed. “We were doing a partnering cartwheel and he dropped me on my head!”

Bygones are bygones, and San Diego’s community was so thrilled to have Lambert return to his hometown that the city’s mayor declared May 8 Adam Lambert Day. (Frenzied crowds also greeted Idol finalists Kris Allen in his hometown of Little Rock, Ark., and Danny Gokey in Milwaukee.)

Lambert’s reaction? “I didn’t expect all this,” he explains. “We live in this little TV studio. I didn’t realize it was so far-reaching. I guess one of the things I didn’t realize is how people were so excited about me being who I am.”

While Lambert says he got choked up many times throughout the day, his mother Leila wasn’t able to hold back tears once they arrived at his high school. “I’m happy for him,” she said. “Everything he’s done. All the times I’ve been proud of him have built up to this. I’m so proud of him.”

Even though I don't really want Danny to last till the final two, I agree with Joab, the finale will be more exciting with Adam vs. Danny. That's why it's really weird that Allison got voted off. It just left us with the weirdest final three ever. One who really outshines the other two, leaps and bounds, in star quality. I thought Allison had so much more star quality than Danny and Kris. Oh well... Adam'd better win!

Would like to comment on the song choices. I'm glad that Simon chose for Adam, cos we all know Simon makes the wisest choices. I'm not sure about Paula's choice for Danny, but I think Randy's choice for Kris could potentially kill him. For one, that song is still relatively new, it's so, so, SO overplayed, SO popular, there's bound to be immense comparison. And I don't think Kris has the vocal capabilities to kill it, with all that falsetto. So unless he does a fantastic re-arrangement, I foresee him to be in trouble. But thankfully, there's another song choice for them. I wish they'd sing three songs though.

I'm utterly bored with the final three, I'm only looking forward to Adam's performances now.

Help me guys, we are traveling this weekend. Do we know the song choices by the judges? It seems like you do but I didn't see them posted. (Maybe I missed it??)   :umn:

OMG. I am still okay with this season & anyone winning, but funny thing is, I can see the judges' picks potentially kill all of 'em. (Yes, even Adam, although he'll pull it off in the end. ;))

And unlike Joab & Ruth, I don't want a Danny/Adam F2. There's a 50-50 shot of Danny winning there. At least with a Kris/Adam F2, Adam wins hands-down. And unless Kris pulls off a miracle, the Danny/Kris F2 is the least pleasing scenario for me.

I can see them all singing these songs.  (Unless Raymond is right and they kill em...)

At this point I don't know who will be Adam's competition, probably Danny but Kris has surprised me, making it to final 3.

Can't wait to see how they do!

I agree with Raymond, a Danny and Kris final two will be the worst finale ever, for me. Sigh if only it were an Adam and Allison final two. We know that Allison will lose to Adam for sure in the voting, but at least we'll have a very good show. We can't deny, Allison has always been performing really well. But well, I should stop thinking of that already. Can't wait to hear their performances!

i love kris and danny and kris could kill it in a good way with apoligise, it is very popular, to the point of over sung but if he does his kris spin on the song it will b fab i am looking fw to that song the most. he has been a big suprise i would love to see a danny/kris f2 i think that would b awsome and it would b a lesser slam dunk jmo. i think adam will win no matter who he is in the final with, i am goning to enjoy the last few weeks can't wait for tuesday night...

Personally I'm pulling for an Adam/Kris finale.....don't really care for Danny, don't get me wrong, he is good but he doesn't impress me as much as the other two. Kris really surprised me this season....he got better every week and I always enjoyed his stage presence. but I know Adam is going to win this hands down!

Hmm, Danny's the only one who can give Adam a run for the title now. I mean, we all know he has LOADS of fans! But maybe he'll do an Elliott Yamin and get cut at the final three. Yeah Kris doesn't really have the final two "swagger" but who knows? Or maybe Adam gets cut at final three and then I'll cry buckets.

:hugs: No need to cry buckets Ruth, Adam's not going anywhere. The fight will be between Kris and Danny. (Unless no one votes for Adam and spend their time voting for Kris/Danny!) :ascared

I just saw an interview from Simon, predicting an Adam win. I'm not predicting anything so as not to jinx anyone. It all depends on how well they perform tonight. (Danny and Kris, Adam has never had a bad night has he?)

Simon Cowell: Adam Lambert will win 'Idol'

May 11, 10:51 PM (ET)

CHICAGO (AP) - "American Idol" judge Simon Cowell says he thinks Adam Lambert will win this season of the popular singing competition show.

Cowell told Oprah Winfrey on Monday's episode of "The Oprah Winfrey Show" that his money is on Lambert because the contestant is fearless, unique and "he's got swagger."

Winfrey also featured Scottish singing sensation Susan Boyle, who is competing on "Britain's Got Talent." Boyle told Winfrey she's "loving every second" of her newfound fame.

The 47-year-old Boyle became famous after she shocked judges and the audience with her version of "I Dreamed a Dream" from the musical "Les Miserables."

One of those judges was Cowell, who wished Boyle congratulations and wished her "best of luck" on the rest of the competition.

After watching the performances, I gotta say: W.O.W.

And normally, I'd think that the own choice would lower their chances of winning, but it's actually been the opposite this time. I felt that the Top 3 shined more on the personal choices than the judges' choices. This is going to be an exciting finale.

And I can't wait to see who among the Top 13 could have successful post-Idol careers. I could see a great future for this season's Top 5. Who knows? Maybe someone like Sarver, Megan, Jasmine, Jorge or Alexis could make a comeback and have a more successful career than the rest of the cast. :D :D

W.o.w is right! I think it's too close to call for the final 2! I almost wish I hadn't listened to what the judges had to say and just enjoyed their performances.

This has been one of THe best AI seasons, you're right Raymond. A lot of them will be successful! This isn't the end of the road at all.

Danny Gokey
Judges' Choice - To be honest, and no offence here, I didn't really care for the song choice. It was a fun song, he did have the energy, but to me it all felt similar and unspectacular. And about the dancing, it reminded me of Taylor Hicks again, lol.
Personal Choice - That was a fantastic song choice, beautiful song, beautiful lyrics. I agree that Danny really showcased his vocals but at the same time, I thought that he neglected the emotions of the song. While I'm impressed by his singing, I didn't really feel anything and it's a pity, the song is so beautiful. Oh, and I love Danny's husky tone.

Kris Allen
Judges' Choice - Just as I expected, it wasn't a wise choice at all. While I agree that more than half of the songs sung on AI are very popular, I still think that it isn't wise to choose a song that is so new and still very fresh in everyone's memory. Unless the contestant really changes it up (like what Kris did with Heartless), it's almost impossible to impress. An example would be Matt G having done Viva la Vida. But back to Kris, he sounded strained and sound-alike. I disagree with Randy, Kris doesn't have a big voice. What he has is artistry.
Personal Choice - Well I actually almost flipped when I heard his song choice. For one, I don't like that song and for another, the same reason as above. But wow, I was really impressed with his rendition of the song! Yeah, that's what he should have done to Apologize, change it up and all. Really really loved what he did with this song, just put him back in the running for final two.

Adam Lambert
Judges' Choice - I loved that he put different touches to the entire song, starting it slow, then building it up. I thought it was a really intense and passionate performance, really enjoyed it. And LOL at Simon boo-ing Randy, lol. Adam's the only one whose song for the first round I prefer.
Personal Choice - I would have preferred him to do a slower number instead of another edgy song but does it matter? He did awesome as expected. Week after week he showcases his mad, mad range. I'm glad Simon made that point at the end of the show on not assuming that he's automatically making the final two. So America, please vote like mad for Adam, cos Kris and Danny's fans will be voting like mad after all the praises Adam has collected!

All in all, it was an enjoyable night of stellar performances. Yeah, we all know it's gonna be one of the hardest votes ever. And I'm thinking, the voting margin could end up being as close as that in season five. I don't care which of Kris or Danny makes it as long as Adam does. But if Danny makes it with Adam, it'll kinda be like last season. Danny's the Archuleta and Adam's the Cook. Lol.

VOTE FOR ADAM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I did not watch it tonight, but I have it on my DVR.  I didn't have enough self control to watch it later without results!
But I do think that the outcome is pretty good.  Adam's winning!

Adam and Kris did the coin toss after the broadcast tonight. Kris won the toss and selected to go second so Adam will be singing first next Tuesday. of course they both will be singing three songs.

I'm half surprised and half not at the results. Does that even make sense? Lol. Anyway, pretty happy that it's a Kris and Adam final two. Not cos I think Adam will beat Kris easily, but yeah, haven't really been a Danny fan since day one even though I agree he's a brilliant singer. Prior to this, I thought that if Kris made the F2, he'd lose to Adam totally. But after seeing how he's survived week after week, blossoming from the "guy-next-door without much confidence" to a "brilliant risk-taker", I'm thinking he could actually win this! What's more, there're only one million votes separating him and Adam and for all you know, Kris might be the one with the higher number of votes. So, let's not be too surprised if Kris really wins, although I wouldn't desire such an outcome and I'll still think it's a little weird.

Very happy with the results, Danny indeed left on a high note and he has loads to be proud of. While many were shocked, I guess from the instant that Kris was the first person through to the finale, no matter which of Adam or Danny left, it'd still have been a shock. Very thankful that Adam made it through, my heart was pounding like crazy when it was him and Danny left on stage. Big phew!

Congrats to the final two, congrats to Danny as well. This time, I felt the emotional connection. Well done guys! Sad that this season's coming to an end but I'm not geared up for an exciting finale!

The thing about Adam is that he is damn good and one hell of a singer and he has been a hot favourite to win this competition. But the thing is, his vocal range is wide.. but his voice does not appeal to the masses. For example, Fantasia can sing ANYTHING and EVERYTHING.. but she has not been very successful in her career, not just because of her image.. but also because of her unique tone which people either like it or hate it. For me, my POV for Adam is that he can sing and he wows me each time, but i do not enjoy his performance at all because i just do not like his voice and the way he sung his songs. It's just like how someone will prefer difference genre of music.. i think the reason why Kris has been surviving until today, is because his voice is of that of a recording artist and really really is soothing to the ears to many and appeal to the masses. And from what we know there has been a drastic increased in votes for the final 3.. with 88 million votes.. who knows whether a record breaking 100 million votes will be received for the finale or not.. and because most of the voted out idol fans will probably go to anyone but Adam because everyone would have expected him to win.. i suspect Kris has been garnering all the votes from the voted off contestants since people mostly like underdogs and would expect Danny and Adam to naturally do well and thus gives their vote to Kris, who managed to surprise everyone again and again after each and every week.

Going on to Danny.. i know he will not be in the final 2 since the beginning because of his image. The problem with Adam is that he lacks the voice to appeal to the masses, and the problem with Danny is that he hacks the image to do so as well. But look at Kris.. he possesses such a good and amazing vocal and has a really good humble attitutde and that makes people even like him more.

I am rooting for Kris, since i honestly thought he was a lame choice for top 12 and now, not only is he in the final 2.. but he has proved himself wrong each after week and proved to us what he can do as an idol. I'm so far impressed by him week after week and hope that he can continue to maintain this momentum on the finale.

Going back to the song choices.. love Kris's both songs, as usual could not understand Adam's interpretation and Danny's first song was crap while second song was what i think the best performance of the night.

With that, i'm rooting for Kris Allen!!! :hearts:

Lol, from the looks of this, I won't be surprised if Kris really wins. I think it'll be a huge shock if he wins. Firstly, beating Adam. Secondly, right from the beginning, he was just this very likeable guy with not much of a confidence and wasn't really expected to make the top 12. Guess the audience was pretty surprised when he made it. When he did, we wouldn't have expected him to last till the final 6, then final 4 (where I honestly thought he'd be gone) and now, final 2! It's really amazing and it's gonna be huge if he wins. I mean, he definitely deserves it, I love most of his performances, he's a very talented guy, very current and relevant, but I just feel there's something lacking in him. Stage charisma? Confidence? I don't know, but it's definitely gonna be an exciting finale. I agree about Kris possibly garnering more votes from the eliminated contestants' fans. Also, he could have a higher chance of winning due to Adam's image. For Adam, you either hate him or you love him. But for Kris, he's really humble and likeable, so... Yeah.

Having said so much, I'm still rooting for Adam. Lol!

And something I realised, for each season of this format, the final two have always been in the same group for the semi-finals. Kelly and Justin from group 2 in Season 1, Clay and Ruben from group 2 in Season 2, Fantasia and Diana from group 1 in Season 3, and Adam and Kris were from group 2. Okay, that was random. Lol.

Kris being in the final 2 reminds me of Season 3, where nobody expected Diana to even have a shot at the final 2 with big names like Jennifer, Latoya and Fantasia.. and i guess this format still works best for the show.. because the best people always has a better shot in making an impression..

Everyone makes such good points that I'm conflicted about who will win. (Or who I WANT to win!) I've thought since the final 12 that Adam would win but seeing the way that Kris has improved and beat Danny, it could go either way. I never thought we'd have a Kris/Adam finish.

All of them are tied contractually to the show so no one will really be free for several years to do what they really want to do.  Adam is at heart a stage performer; I think that is his forte. Kris and Danny don't have Adam's ability to perform but they both can sing, but thinking back, nothing really stands out as a memorable performance for either one.  For example, who can forget Fantasia singing "Summertime" or Katharine McPhee with "Over the Rainbow," Lakisha singing "Midnight Train to Georgia" or Chris Daughtry singing “Have You Ever Really Loved a Woman?"  OTOH, even if I don't recall a single song from Adam, I still remember his electrifying performances.

Well Adam could win cos of obvious reasons, him being the hot favourite since the beginning and I have no doubt he's gonna give fabulous performances again.

Kris could win due to Danny's elimination. I'd think that Danny fans would rather switch to voting for Kris than Adam. Since right from the beginning, there has been a Danny vs. Adam thing, so Kris could accumulate lots of votes there.

All in all, it's a tough call, really. I wouldn't mind if Kris wins but I'd prefer Adam, of course.

if u think of singers like bob dylon or neil young or even sting brian adams even though they were not all over the stage they delivered and kept u right with them , i saw elton john once and all he did was sit at the paino the whole time it was right after princess dianna died and it was total awsome. i would put kris in those memerable catogorys i have realy enjoyed how he has suprised use every week and his humbeness has been refersing to me,sp sry. any way adam is like the total opisit on stage he has the elvis/drama thing going for him he is allso very humble when he is done but he has a take no prisoner att when he is on stage, i am loveing this season,

I think Adam will win, but it doesn't mean he'll win hands down either.

Last season the judges gave the show to David A, saying he won hands down with all 3 songs.. but David C still win.. with a better popularity..

If America despises the hype (overrated or not), Kris wins.

I'm seeing a lot of speculation that, with Danny gone, Kris will get his votes so if you favor Adam, vote like mad; if you like Kris then vote like mad for him. It could be really close. (Unless one does a horrible job then all bets are off.)

Some big names will perform for the American Idol Finale. There are also rumors that Britney Spears will appear, but not confirmed.

Queen Latifah, Santana Set For 'Idol 09' Finale

Newsroom | Posted on 05/16/09 | Filed Under: Tours Gigs & Events, Queen Latifah

Queen Latifah, Carlos Santana and Cyndi Lauper have all be confirmed for Wednesday's anticipated finale of 'American Idol'.

Reportedly joining the Black Eyed Peas, Keith Urban, and Lionel Richie, the trio follows recently announced performances from David Cook and Carrie Underwood on Tuesday's episode.

Either Adam Lambert or Kris Allen will take home the title of "American Idol" Wednesday.

In related news, Jamie Foxx predicts Adam Lambert for the win:

"I told all of them—especially Adam because I think Adam has this thing. He has to be ready for that ride because if he gets the right record, he is going to go stratosphere."

"Adam is gonna win, I believe," Foxx told E!

`Idol' finalists: Focus on the singing

May 18, 10:33 PM (ET)

By DERRIK J. LANG

LOS ANGELES (AP) - "American Idol" finalists Kris Allen and Adam Lambert don't want to get personal.

The singers told a throng of media gathered Monday outside the Nokia Theatre, where the duo will duke it out during the show's two-night finale on Tuesday and Wednesday, that they hope viewers will base their votes for the next "Idol" on performance alone.

"For me, I hope that having the Christian vote doesn't help with anything," said Allen, a 23-year-old college student who has worked as a worship leader at the New Life Church in his hometown of Conway, Ark. "I hope it has to do with your talent and the performance that you give and the package that you have. It's not about religion and all that kind of stuff."

Lambert, a 27-year-old theater actor from San Diego who once worked in the Los Angeles cast of "Wicked," heartily agreed. He said he does not think the contest "has anything to do with your religious background, what color you are, your gender. It doesn't have anything to do with that. It's about music. That's really important to keep in mind."

The pair are scheduled to be joined on Wednesday's finale by Lionel Richie, Carlos Santana, Cyndi Lauper, Queen Latifah, Black Eyed Peas, Keith Urban, Jason Mraz and previous "Idol" winner David Cook. Allen teased that they may duet with some of those artists on Wednesday - but neither finalist would reveal any details about their finale performances.

"They're good songs," said Lambert. "I think everyone will like them."

To prepare for the two-night finale, Allen said he's been saving his voice by texting instead of talking while Lambert plans to order a "really big room service breakfast" on Tuesday morning. Both singers said they have become friends and felt like they have already won the popular Fox singing competition, pledging to support each other's music in the future.

"I know I'm going to be first in line to buy his album," gushed Lambert.

"Same here," added Allen. "Maybe you'll give it to me."

"You don't have to buy it," teased Lambert. "I'll send you a copy."

It's going to be a super finale!!! Here's a spoiler for you via MJ's Blog

American Idol Final Rumor and News Roundup: No Britney, Coronation Song, “No Boundaries”, Revealed

Published by mj May 19th, 2009
Spoilers:

    * Adam Lambert - “A Change is Gonna Come” (Like Patti LaBelle),  “Mad World” and “No Boundaries
    * Kris Allen - “What’s Goin’ On” by Marvin Gaye , “Ain’t No Sunshine” , “No Boundaries” via joesplace

5th Update: Paula Abdul tweets that she’s on her way to full dress rehearsal at the Nokia…so maybe we’ll be getting spoilers after all…

4th Update:  Kris Allen will perform “Ain’t No Sunshine” tonight as his personal pick. That’s according to our Kris spoiler, littlestd. Plus, according to joesplace, dress rehearsal has already started.  They only let in about 100 people…

3rd Update:  According to  Reuters, the Kara DioGuardi penned winner’s song, “No Boundaries” will get it’s first airing on AOL’s Popeater, moments after the winner is announced… The song was co-written with Cathy Dennis and Mitch Allen

2nd Update:  According to ET Online, Steve Martin will be breaking out his banjo to perform a tune from his album of banjo music.   No, I’m not kidding.

UPDATE:  The FOX 5 song spoilers I posted may be wrong.  I’m hearing that as of Sunday night, “Falling Slowly” and “Heartless” were not songs Kris Allen was rehearsing. My source is good.

Adam Lambert and Kris Allen are set to take the Nokia Theater stage tonight to sing 3 songs–Simon Fuller’s choice, Favorite song of the Season and the Coronationv Song. Plus, Carrie Underwood will take the stage to perform the Idol Boot song, “Home Sweet Home”.  Kris chose to perform second tonight, after he won a coin toss after last week’s results show. Adam will perform first.

Wednesday night is the big finale, with a host of celebrities set to perform.  The Top 13 will be reunited to perform once more, individually and in groups.  At night’s end, the Season 8 American Idol will be crowned.

In the meantime, I got all the news and rumors in one place, just for you!
