:sucks  looks like a match on the chairs and table at this similar foot massage chain in Beijing.

...I believe we're talking upscale establishment, given the decor and uniformed personnel

:sucks  FWIW, the decor of the Liangzi Foot Massage chain in Beijing seems to match the racers location.  ;D

At the southeast of Jianguomen Bridge, there is a Liangzi Foot Message Branch. Liangzi is a foot massage chain that possesses more than five hundred branches in China. The brand Liangzi means sons and daughters from decent families make money with clear conscience by good medicine, superior technique and quality service.

According to ancient Chinese medicine record, China has a foot massage history of 5,000 years. A man’s feet just like the root of a tree. Root failed before a tree withers, and feet failed before a man ages. Therefore, as the second heart of a human being, feet exert an vital influence on a person’s health.

This Liangzi Foot Massage Branch comprises two floors underground, including 68 foot massage rooms in Chinese, European and Japanese styles. Female receptionists will greet you warmly and show you the way. A foot massage, which costs RMB 138, will take you some 90 minutes during which your ‘second heart’ will be soaked in hot water emitting aroma of Chinese medicine in a wooden basin for 20 minutes, then a well-trained attendant will show her normative massage techniques, surely will you get a wonderful experience. The process will eliminate your weariness, kill germs, ease pain, prevent you from skin diseases of foot, stimulate metabolism and strengthen immunologic function. You will feel very relaxed after that. If you take a whole body massage, it will take you about 60 minutes and RMB 168.

It's a chain store for pediluvium (my new word for the day); Jianguomen is described as their flagship store (map).

I usually don't post any spec.  The rest of you are always way out in front of me; and better, too.

But look at the beverages in Boingo's comparative photos above.  In the stock photo: cold beverages.  In the Race screencap: cups and mugs (coffee? tea?).  Does this indicate an A.M. task?  At least for K/J.  :duno:

Good catch!  However, could the choice of beverages just be the difference between a summer vacation photo and a TAR 14 in winter?  Instead of an AM vs PM activity.  Remember, we keep seeing them in jackets, vests, sweaters, or pullovers, so they seem to be always a little cold.

;D  Just throwing this out there... not saying it's a match or anything...BUT!!!!

the roofline does look similar at this pool ...and the description below says it was used as a practice pool for the Olympics...   :duno:

In order to provide adequate training facilities for the Chinese National Aquatics Team, the General Sports Administration of China and the Beijing Organizing Committee for 2008 Olympic Games (BOCOG) decided to revamp the MuXiYuan Sports Academy and make it their main aquatics training base....

Awesome work! And I thought both the reflexology parlour and the swimming pool were hopeless!

Here's the Guangcai Sports Complex (光彩体育馆) in Muxiyuan, training ground for the Beijing swimming and synchronized swimming teams.

Address: 2 Guangcai Rd N, Fengtai District, on the south side of town.
Oh I love Edushi's graphics.

Curved roof with blue bands matches, but it certainly had a facelift...

(My mum lost it when she saw the preview - she does the exact same expression as Cara when she goes for her foot massage in China!)

... Teams swim the same distance that Michael Phelps swam in the 400 meter individual medley,... .

Individual medley, one swimmer does 4 different strokes during the race.  So, Phelps did all 400m of the race, so 400m = 8 laps of an Olympic size pool.  (8 x 50m = 400m).   :groan:  Not an easy task even for an average swimmer.

The press release makes it seem like doing the Olympic-themed task is something they all must do don't you think?

An Olympic task leaves racers gasping for breath. Animosity grows as two teams continue to hold a grudge against each other. One racer is paralyzed with fear-after coming this far, will they choose to go home? A Chinese foot massage puts racers through more pain than pleasure.

The Olympic task is most likely the swimming task, and Jen's obviously the one paralyzed by fear.

The Roadblock looks really tough!

As for the animosity between two teams, that's obviously LaKisha & Jen and Margie & Luke.

Beijing is 1340 miles from Guilin, much more north than east. It is much cooler than Guilin in November.

Beijing in November has an averagte high of 49 to 52 degrees F and an average low of 29 to 33 degrees F.

On Nov. 19, high temp was 39 and the low temp was 15. This is why teams needed warmer clothing.
On nov. 20, high temp was 57 and the low temp was 19.
On Nov. 21, high temp was 53 and the low temp was 28.

Yeah, it does. That explains why Kisha & Jen were doing it.

If we are going to have another U-Turn in this race, it will surely be in this leg, not later on, right? :duno:

Kisha and Jen appeared to have pissed off Tammy/Victor, maybe they will u-turn them resulting in them doing the other detour...

How on earth did that happen...infact t/v were so happy for them on finishing first...i'm very much sure it has to be c/j returning favour to m/l by u-turning k/j...but i just hope that doesn't happen :snicker:
