Still speculating on the term "blind u-turn". Perhaps TPTB mandated that the first team arriving at the u-turn option MUST u-turn a later team--they would then select next, 2nd 3rd, etc.   :duno:

I did not see this mentioned in the thread but i might have just missed it.

What if the Blind U-turn was this.

If you chose to use the U-turn this season you do not get to chose who you U-turn. Instead you have to reach in and pull someones picture out of a box. Hence the "Blind" part.

:welcome2: to RFF Max and Smith!

We do know that of course about the credits, those are both old.

You can see more about that here:

http://forum.realityfanforum.com/index.php?topic=18413.0

I'm not sure if the term blind would refer to not knowing who you were going to U-turn? OR who you were being U-turned by?  Either could be dramatic!

Well, I don't think you wouldn't know WHO you're u-turning, because that could lead to a possibly very anti-climatic introduction of a "new  twist" if the team that chooses to u-turn accidentally pulls the picture of a team ahead of them.

"picture pulling" or "number selecting"--either way would work.   This would avoid the neutralizing effect of selecting a team in the forefront (ala Kynt and Vyxsin selecting Don & Nick)

If the first team to arrive at the u-turn MUST select a team to be u-turned, you could not select a team that was ahead of you.   Whether it is a random picture pull or a deliberate number select, the result could impact the outcome of the race.

I wouldn't like it if a U-TURN becomes compulsory. I'm pretty sure it might just be a team using their U-TURN on another team for no particular reason. That would be pretty blind and stupid. So i can say Tammy and Victor or any of the top pack teams won't get U-TURNed because it would have then be seen as a strategic move and not a "blind" move.

Does this mean Christie and Jodi are safe this week, if they're somehow in the front of the pack?

Joab,I know we're a little off topic here since this thread is about the next episode--but my personal opinion is that each racing team should use all the devices available to enhance their standing in the race.  In the last few seasons racers have demurred from using the u-turn or it's predecessor "the yield" because they did not want to incur any hard feelings.  It's a race, you're in it to win! Use whatever is available. And sometimes things have to change to keep things moving and interesting--like each team member doing an equal number of roadblocks.   :2cents:

Anyway, it's only speculation.

I know, i just don't like it when people play dirty. If you're good you'll be first anyway without having to slow down another team with the U-TURN.. i know you're talking about scenarios where you're in nearly last and wants to put teams further down.. but i'm now talking about if the U-TURN becomes compulsory for the first team reaching the U-TURN mat.. it will be.. pointless and unfair because you're making the top team who has a considerable lead use your U-TURN.. which maybe the team wants to save for future legs for a more strategic use?

I don't think they will force people to U-TURN.. :duno:

I do understand your point of view, Joab.  I know strategy wise it is better to get the last team out of the way. But the random selection adds an element of surprise and suspense that may not be available otherwise. 'Nuf said.  I guess we'll find out what the "blind u-turn" is on Sunday.  Can't wait.

Maybe the blind U-turn refers to doing both Detours blindfolded. Now that would add an interesting dynamic.

Phil: The U-Turn only shows up once in the race. In this U-Turn, the teams must drive blindfolded to the task. Once there, the blindfolds will remain while both team members saw a log in half.

When they finish that task, the team will once again drive blindfolded to the next Detour where they must walk on hot coals and still keep their blindfolds on.

It would be even harder if it was Luke. Imagine being deaf and blind.

I'm not laughing at the thought of Luke being blindfolded, just the all over idea of a team being blindfolded and doing the detour and what TARAsia wrote ......

Yea, i laughed at it. That would literally be a blind U-TURN. The comment with Luke though evil, was hilarious. (Don't mean to be rude.. but it was really funny) :funny:

Hi guys! Based on everything that the press released, even saying that there would be new twists even before this episode, I think of the following

First placer team experiencing dead last - that more or less must have been Margie/Luke, we see Luke struggle so much in the Roadblock, that must have been them, further, I think that the roadblock itself is a first come first served basis, that is why they suffer being last.

And the new twist is not actually new, rather somehow, a modified version of the u-turn where the first team who reaches the u turn marker is forced to make a mandatory u-turn of another, and that they must randomly pick only one team... I may be wrong and it would actually be like K/V u turning N/D in Season 12, or in TARAsia3, G/T u-turning AD/F not because they hate them, rather to gain time...

The new twist may actually be a new twist?... We'll all find out next week...
