Actually (though I am sure it doesn't happen) how awesome would it be if Margie and Luke were first?

Okay so TAR has not been noticed that much there.... my friend that lives in Stechelberg actually lives in the house next door to the Alpenhof hotel and she had no idea!  :funny:

The shots of the team being lost (at the river, is that Steve & Linda? Sorry I still can't put faces with names) is from Stechelberg. Puddin you are right on about the exact location (post #370). There can absolutely be snow on the grounds of Stechelberg, if it's cold enough for couple of days and nights it will stay fairly long even if they're not that high in altitude - I believe they were not reachable by train/ bus or car two or three days already this winter cause they're getting lots of snow this season compared to the past ones. There's as little as three or four hours of sun during the winter months.

Sorry my pictures aren't excellent for comparison, I only have them from either summer or very wintery, also were they taken a little more north than where that team is standing.
But you can see the outlines of the hills, the woods and the mountains in the background.

Well I think 4 teams made that 9:03 train. Victor/Tammy, Mark/Mike, Mel/Mike and Luke/Margie. They were all seen together at the cheese task. We know that Preston/Jennifer, Lakisha/Jennifer, Brad/Victoria, and Cara/Jamie. They were all seen at the cheese task too. That leaves Jodi/Christie, Amanda/Kris, and Linda/Steve.

Puddin said that Preston/Jennifer had caught up. Jennifer could be on her second cheese and Amanda on her first. So Preston/Jennifer could really be ahead. I think it will be determined on what trains the last 7 teams get on. If they are on the same train to Interlaken....it will be wild finish. It will be fun watching.
Shoot.  Then maybe it's Amanda & Kris fighting it out for last with with Steve & Linda, and Christie & Jodi and Preston & Jennifer fighting it out for eighth and ninth?

Damn.  And here I thought there was actually a chance Preston & Jennifer could be out of our hair right off the bat.

With Linda and Steve possibly being safe - Could there be two main groups of racers, and could Linda and Steve possibly have caught a faster train than the slower group (or a slower train than the faster group) and ended up in the middle of the two groups by themselves. This would explain the fact that there are no pictures of them in the same shot as other teams.

Okay, so Cara & Jamie come in fifth.  That's okay with me -- as long as they're not near the back of the pack!

The fact that we do not see Steve and Linda with the other teams, and that they seem to be alone hunting for someplace (the pit stop or somewhere else), could this mean that CBS and TPTB have completely hidden from us in the previews that the first ep contains a FAST FORWARD? and that Steve and Linda took it.  This could mean that they come in FIRST not LAST.

Just a thought, I know I'm not thinking clearly these days.

As for the last-place team, that might explain the picture of Christie & Jodi and Preston & Jennifer.  Maybe the flight attendants just beat out the daters, with the latter going home first.  Adn if so, it sounds like Steve & Linda could be safe on this first leg!

Absolutely right.

Wow!  This premier brought me back to season 1!
I think that they are trying to show the team's personalities more than the tasks!
This is definitely one of my favorite premiers!
The only thing that I don't like is that the airport footage was skipped.  If there was an hour and a half, than they would probably would put it in.

Let's check the departure times for Episode 2 since they're supposed to leave 12 hours afterwards (assuming we're going to see departure times this season).

but what if there's another unexpected twist?

I would love for twists that producers have been putting in these few seasons. First it was Intersection in Season 10, then it was U-TURN and Speedbump is Season 12.. it's time for another twist in season 14!!!!!!

 :funny:

A Roundabout when used by one team will force another team to go back to the previous clue and repeat the task again. (Something like U-TURN.. but this can work for Roadblock as well.. so much better than the U-TURN, which only works for Detour)

Imagine having to repeat drinking the hungarian soup in TAR6, the 4 pounds meat in TAR 7, bungee jumping twice!! :funny:

A barrier when used by one team will force another team to stop racing and complete an additional task which other teams do not have to complete. (Something like Speedbump, but not served as a NEL penalty)

A junction when used by one team will force all the teams behind them to stop racing. All the other teams when stopped by the junction, will wait for all the remaining teams to arrive before they can set off.

This should give the team who used it a sizable lead to gain a win (and piss off everyone).. = DRAMA. And this should also add to the intensity of the race since all the teams at the back are bunched together and racing to avoid elimination.

A rewind will force teams back to the start of the leg. (EVIL!)

Okay i think i'm crazy. :res: :sucks :wohoo: :jumpy: :hearts: :jam:

Everyone needs to be SURE to listen to Rob's fantabulous Interview with Preston and Jennifer (awww...loved you guys!) for some spoiler info about what happened at the end. Great Interview Rob!! :jumpy:

RFF download:  http://www.rffradio.com/podpress_trac/web/312/0/rffradio_ep190b.mp3  Interview starts at 49:20

Brief Highlights:

How did they get in last place to Locarno?

They were first off the plane in Milan, first into a taxi, first away from the airport.
Their cabdriver spoke no English.
Their cab did not have an toll speed pass, they were caught in a long line waiting to pay.
The route that taxi took was thru downtown during rush hour, that cost them another 45 minutes.
Their cab driver then took them to the wrong customs checkpoint at the border(the one their instructions said NOT to use)
They were then late to the train to Locarno.
That's when we see the minor spat on the train...
All in all, about a 3 hour delay from airport to Locarno church.

Leaving Locarno:

Had an advantage because while others were running into town, looking for taxis, they spotted the taxi rank right next to the church.
The first taxi stalled 3 times leaving the church, had to change.

Last Taxi: (after Cheese Hill)

They did not have enough money to pay, they were short 75 francs
Several of the other teams didn't have enough money to pay either
They had to beg, but other teams had already hit up the area
They spent 45 minutes begging for the 75 francs without success
Finally decided to take a penalty and starting running, ran the wrong way, turned around, and that's when Christy and Jodi arrived, Footrace from there...
From Preston: "Every team who took the second flight with us, none of us had enough money to pay the taxi guy at the end."
They arrived 30-40 minutes ahead of the blondes (Christy/Jodi) from Cheese Hill
Begged the taxi guy, who was also mad about all the mud and poo in his car

Bungy:

took a couple of hours to do
Preston's cable had to be changed due to his weight
there were others behind him at the jump
there were rocks only at the bottom, no water
awesome, but scary

Cheese Hill:

Jennifer: I think I peed in my pants watching, it was hilarious to see it (on TV)
The band wasn't funny then , but was to see later
The cheese wasn't cheese, had weights in it?
It was so steep it was a cliff
It was soaking wet, piles of poop everywhere
Backpacks were not meant to carry that much weight, cheaply made
Luke ran, and they were worried he was going to face plant
Some carriers were stronger than others, Brad and Victoria's didn't break
At that point Jen/Kisha, Jaime/Cara were behind them,
Preston's cheese rolled down the hill, that cost them time
But still 30-40 minutes ahead of Christy/Jodi at that point

Begged 45 minutes for money, decided to run, and take whatever penalty
Wish they had thought to do that 45 minutes sooner
At that point after cheese hill, they were so tired their brains weren't working

Elimination Station:

Maybe for the best for our relationship
Got to spend 3 weeks in Thailand together
Thailand was the best thing that ever happened to us
We got to do priceless stuff
Other teams were jealous of them and said We should have been elminated first, this is AWESOME
We didn't spend ANY money the first three days, other teams had bought pizza at the sleep stop in Locarno; then they were suddenly in luxury
We got to see a lot of Thailand, got to enjoy it, got to do some awesome things
Time of our Lives!
Got to see and explore Thailand

We want to do AllStars, OR a new TAR "Amazing Race Losers", first teams out race

Thanks to the RFF family for the "blog", the pictures, the good stuff about us!

===================

Thanks again Rob! AMAZING Interview!! :hearts:
