NBC GIVES NEW SEASON PICKUPS TO POPULAR SERIES 'THE OFFICE,' '30 ROCK' AND 'THE BIGGEST LOSER' FOR 2009-2010

NBC Press Release

NBC has renewed the popular series "The Office," "30 Rock" and "The Biggest Loser" each for an additional year through the 2009-2010 season, it was announced today by Angela Bromstad, President, Primetime Entertainment, NBC and Universal Media Studios, and Paul Telegdy, Executive Vice President, Alternative Programming, NBC and Universal Media Studios.

"These renewals represent our faith in 'The Office' and '30 Rock' as they continue to represent the gold standard in acclaimed and award-winning series," said Bromstad. "We want the devoted fans of these series to know that we are thrilled that these quality programs will be back with the same high-caliber episodes that viewers have come to expect."

"'The Biggest Loser' is a positive, life-enhancing show that has resonated with our audience and has created a solid and loyal fan base," said Telegdy. "This inspirational franchise series will continue with fresh ideas and heartwarming stories."

"The Office" is the season's #1 comedy in adults 18-34 and is tied for the #2 ranking overall, according to "most current" averages from Nielsen Media Research through the season's opening 16 weeks. The acclaimed fifth-season comedy also has the most upscale audience for a primetime series on any broadcast networks in terms of its concentration of adults 18-49 living in homes with $100,000-plus incomes. "The Office" is averaging a 4.9 rating, 12 share among adults 18-49, a 5.8/15 among adults 18-34 and 9.4 million viewers overall. .

Recent multi-Golden Globe-winner "30 Rock" is enjoying its best ratings season yet, having delivered its four highest-rated telecasts ever in adults 18-49 since returning to the NBC Thursday night lineup October 30. Versus last season, "30 Rock" is up 26 percent in adults 18-49 and 20 percent in total viewers, averaging a 3.9 rating, 9 share in adults 18-49 and 7.9 million viewers overall through the first 16 weeks of the season. "30 Rock" is tied for #20 in adults 18-49 and is #9 in adults 18-34 so far this season.

"The Biggest Loser's" seventh season launched on January 6 with the strongest results ever for a "Biggest Loser" premiere with a 4.5 rating, 11 share in adults 18-49 and 11.9 million viewers overall. Last Fall's "Biggest Loser" delivered year-to-year gains of 3 percent in adults 18-49 and 6 percent in total viewers and culminated in a finale 4.6 rating, 12 share in adults 18-49, 11.8 million viewers overall on December 16.

NBC Press Release

NBC'S HIT WEIGHT-LOSS SERIES "THE BIGGEST LOSER" LAUNCHING NATIONWIDE, 14-CITY SEARCH FOR NEW CONTESTANTS AND CERTIFIED TRAINERS

Casting Call Auditions For Season Eight To Be Held in New York City, Oklahoma City, Louisville, Chicago, Dallas, Detroit, Charlotte, Nashville, Houston, Miami, Columbus, Phoenix, Los Angeles and San Diego

NBC's popular reality series "The Biggest Loser" is launching a 14-city cross-country search to find new contestants for the next edition of the hit show. Both individuals and teams are encouraged to apply for the new season, which will air in the fall. To keep creative options open for the new season, producers are also looking for certified trainers.

Outgoing and charismatic individuals or teams of two are encouraged to apply, especially those who have the personality, desire and competitive edge to vie for this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to lose weight, change their lives forever and compete for a grand prize of $250,000. Teams can include family members (siblings, cousins, parent and adult child, etc.), spouses, dating or engaged couples, grandparents, co-workers, former teammates or athletes, best friends and college students. Candidates must be at least 18 years of age and legal residents of the United States.

Producers are also looking for certified trainers with strong personalities who have a solid track record of taking the weight off of overweight clients. Nutritional credentials are a plus, and trainers applying must provide references.

While they will try to see everyone, "The Biggest Loser" casting teams will do their best to see the first 500 people in line. People will not be allowed to line up prior to three hours before the start of the open call. Candidates should bring a non-returnable photo of themselves (and their partners if applying as a team).

'The Biggest Loser' Casting Call

"The Biggest Loser" has been going coast-to-coast to uncover contestants for the upcoming fall season of the hit weight-loss series -- and ET is behind the scenes at the Los Angeles tryouts.

When the next season airs -- the theme has yet to be announced -- the teams will be made up of a cross section of America as "The Biggest Loser" held auditions in New York, Oklahoma City, Louisville, Chicago, Dallas, Detroit, Charlotte, Nashville, Houston, San Diego, Miami, Columbus and Phoenix, as well as Los Angeles.

"I think the number one most important thing is the motivation to lose weight," Brandon Nickens, "Biggest Loser" casting director, says about the show. "This is the opportunity of a lifetime. Sometimes people don't realize what they're getting themselves into. They watch two hours a week and little do they know that's eight to ten hours a day. So it's pretty intense. You have to be willing to make the commitment and we look for that, the fire burning."

SPOILER ALERT: "The Biggest Loser" is also holding auditions for new trainers -- not sure if this means anything about Jillian Michaels and Bob Harper's future with the series, or if there will just be more than two teams next season.

Watch the video to hear the hopefuls share their stories and explain why they want to lose weight.

Tune in next Tuesday to find out if the tension continues between Jillian and her Black Team members -- Sione and Filipe -- or if the situation is resolved. "The Biggest Loser," hosted by Alison Sweeney, airs Tuesday nights at 8 p.m. on NBC.

On another board, they are saying that Bob and Jillian are staying and that the new-trainer casting call is for a third trainer.

I don't know how they know that or if it's true, but that's what they've concluded.

:)  Thanks catzoid

It's interesting reading everyone’s speculation many are also saying that Jillian has lost interest I can’t blame her no one wants to be on her team

I can't wait for the official details to be released
