:yess:  Nicely done. Voodoo doughnuts is 22 s.w. 3rd; all N/S all have to do is turn right and head down the block. An early guess? They have to eat a signature creation, like the bacon maple bar, to get an info clue. (once you get your mind used to the idea, it might taste OK)

These two photos, Ken & Tina are standing in front of the Benson Hotel, at 309 SW Broadway. That's about two blocks south and two blocks west from the gas station. From the gas station, it's two more blocks east to Voodo.

How could you tell?   ;)

The area around the Benson is where the spoiler photos were taken. Most likely where production stayed.

That photo is the Hotel Vintage Plaza. One block south on Broadway, and across the street (422 is the street number).

Is anyone here familiar with Newberg?

Newberg is a town south and west of Portland. In the middle of wine country. I believe it was discussed early on. There's really nothing else that would apply to.

Nothing in the previews seems to indicate they really went there. The shots in the woods, the bridge, etc. are all in the Gorge.

Attractions in Newberg:

Champoeg Park - Champoeg offers nature and recreation at its finest. The park provides camping with all amenities: picnic sites, an amphitheater, and bike and hiking trails along the Willamette River. Champoeg's past is preserved in buildings and historical sights. There is an annual Champoeg State Park Pageant.

Herbert Hoover House - This is the boyhood home of the 31st President of the United States, Herbert Hoover. The house is open daily for tours.

Wineries - The Willamette Valley is home to some of the finest wineries in the northwest, many receiving worldwide recognition for the variety and quality of their wines. Yamhill County has over 25 wineries.

hi all - great site! i just watched tonight's episode and recognized portland from the brief one sec trailer of Nick & Starr outside the hotels...anyway I decided to learn more and my google search brought me here.  What awesome sleuthing!

I read through a lot of posts and am still learning how the producers plan out the itineraries but thought I might be able to help answer Qs about portland.  BTW I live very near Pittock and work a few blocks from where the downtown scenes were filmed...unfortunately when TAR was in town I hadn't found RFF yet!

Newberg -- is more than an hour from PDX, and very unpredictable with traffic.  The distance doesn't fit for teams getting into taxis at PDX. Unless TAR filmed a race day in Portland had a pit stop than did a short detour before racing to the finish line, I think Newberg is an unlikely location to send the teams.

Hi Enrico! Great to see you! :waves:

We covered the hotel name the day of the finale so as to protect production, but here is the Hotel where they stayed as filmed by our on site photographer on 5/13: (the red-headed woman is production)

Wow. Look at Kelly and Christy's body language at the finish line. I would be placing all my money on Nick and Starr for the win.

Are you sure about the time at the finish line being that early? The sets fairly late in Portland, and they're facing due west.

It is definitely not the Oregon City Bridge, which is concrete. There's no question it's the Bridge of the Gods (though the yellow paint has faded since that picture).

Yeah, the final mat shot was probably taken before any of the final three reached it.  It may be just minutes before  :duno:

Enrico, awesome to have you with us!  They are facing an azimuth of roughly 248 degrees where 270 degrees is due west.  North is straight up in the GE image.  The Sun sets with azimuth 298 degrees at 8:35 pm.

Maybe we can get the sighting times together to figure when the contestants actually gathered for the actual pit stop :)
Maybe between 3:00, 4:00 pm?

At PDX
around 12 noon

in downtown Portland:
2:30pm to 3:00pm
around 4:00pm
around 6:00pm

Bridge of Gods/Port of Cascade Locks
teams wrapping it up approx 2:30pm

Looks like there was 7 teams on the final mat, so Toni&Dallas didn't make it. Is this correct  :duno:

There is no way that toni and dallas could have made it back to get new passports at the U.S. Embassy it would at least take 48 hours and probably longer.
