:)
It sucked to see the boys go, but I'm so glad the girls made it....
I know this is so hard! I'm telling you this cast is like family, I want no one to go!!

Honestly, this actually might be my favorite cast ever...

Michael, some might want you to be against their favorite team. After all, remember the Curse of Michael.

Gator, if you can find a decent route from Fortaleza to LaPaz in under 3 flight segments, then:

1. Take it and
2. Let me know.

You will spend a great deal of time, even more than I have and Chateau apparently has. If a good 2 flight segment route in a time of day logical for the teams were available, I would have found it. I didn't.

apskip,

I am pretty sure we are on the same page.  The flight graphic on last night's episode leads one to think it was a direct flight.  The TAR producers had enough good footage that they did not need to say that the flights went from city A, to B, to C, to La Paz.

That does not help you excellent flight detectives.  :plane:

Cocoa tea?

edit:

I just remember, a U-turn comes before a Roadblock.  :groan:  (:;)
This way will help a team to catch up.  :jam:

I think he means, we thought the Roadblock was first then the Detours but hes saying that the Roadblock comes at the Detour/U-Turn and then followed by the Roadblock which sounds right banzai :).

So they took an entire day to get to La Paz? :ascared

That was my thought too!  Without all the airport drama, we have do not know what flights they took.  Even though the map showed 2 flights traveling to La Paz, I wonder if they were truly non-stop flights.

Strong episode.
Maybe you all can get stuff from the insider clips? If you tell me what exactly to look for I can help?

puddin, the route of choice was FOR GRU then GRU VVI (Bolivia) and then VVI LPB. You can look it up on my Timeline for 4/27. Tina is just reaffirming the correctness of that route.

$500 is truly game changing for them. It eases all concerns about food, sleeping, transport--heck, they can hire limos --shades of Danny and Ozzy travelling in style!! :lol3:

Thank you puddin for those!  :hugs:

That will help us I am sure to know that TPTB paid attention to apskip's routing!  :funny:  (teasing you apskip!)

  Slowhatch may be on to something.  Certainly looks like this similar minaret, same shape, same window positions... only thing, it has a distinctive "roof" where the guy calls to prayer.  :duno:

Keep lookin guys!  :sucks

hey, let me help narrow your search on the minaret. Kazakhstan is a Muslim country. Except for a very small amount, Msocow would not be littered with minarets. I don't recall seeing any there, but I did not get all over this city of 10 million people. I advise focus on Almaty.

EDITOR'S NOTE - I took my own advice. There are 3 mosques in Almaty, but none matches. I also applied it to Moscow, where there are no mosques. There are only 8 in all of Russia and none of those matches(except I don't know about the one with no picture).

patlini, that was true before 1947 when the partition of the primarily Hindu parts into India and the primarily Islamic parts into Pakistan happened. Since then there are not very many mosques in India.  I might have seen one or two in travelling between or in most of the major urban areas. Here is a list of what it purported to be all 16 mosques in India(a trivial number for a country of 1 billion population) including two mozques in Delhi(which don't match):

Jama Masjid  India Delhi 1656
Mecca Masjid  India Hyderabad 1694
Moti Masjid  India Delhi 1660
Sidi Saiyyed mosque  India Ahmedabad 1573
Mubarak Mosque  India Qadian 1883
Hazratbal Shrine  India Srinagar
Jama Masjid  India Srinagar 1400
Cheraman Juma Masjid  India Kodungallur 629  oldest mosque of India, second oldest Juma Masjid of the world.
Malik Dinar Mosque  India Kodungalloor
Jama Masjid  India Kalbadevi (Mumbai) 1802
Haji Ali Dargah  India Worli (Mumbai) 1631
Babri Mosque  India Ayodhya 1528 – destroyed on December, 6th 1992
Sir Syed Masjid  India Aligarh
Masjid-ul-Jamiah  India Tamilnadu
Adina Mosque  India Firozabad (West Bengal) 1373
Cheraman Juma Masjid  India Kerala 629

The minaret in the shot looks like it could have been built prior to 1947.  Barring the extreme case that minarets were torn down after 1947 I'd say searching India is a good idea at this point

I checked Almaty myself with GE and netted nothing.  :duno:

soooo.. you're saying that you can see this mountain 135 miles away in Delhi...  :ascared

I'll defer to our resident expert, patlini... is this true?  Can you see mountains while in Delhi?

My theory is that they used some of that money to pay the cab driver extra to get him to fly past all those other teams to the pitstop. Otherwise how did they do it???
