SEARCHING FOR THE SITE OF THE PHOTOS
My hypothesis has been that it sould be at one of the Los Angeles area's botanical gardens which had a modern building adjacent. The answer to that has been the null set. These are the sites I have considered and rejected, always for lack of that modern building adjacent:
Los Angeles Botanical Garden
Descanso Gardens
Arboretum and Botanical Garden of Los Angeles County
Los Angeles Zoo and Botanic Gardens
Viriginia Robinson Garden
South Coast Botanical Garden
Getty Museum
Rancho Santa Ana Botanical Garden
Manhattan Beach Botanical Garden
Pleasant Valley historical Society and Botanical Garden
Huntington Library, Art Collections & Botanical Gardens
Hannah Carter Japanese Garden
Wrigley Memorial and Botanical Gardens, Catalina Island
I do not know whether the Mildred E. Mathias Botanical Garden has the right kind of modern building adjacent, but adjacent to it is the UCLA campus so iot is quite possible. the floral content appears to be a reasonable fit(although thet same is true for several others above):
Photos of Mildred E.Mathias Botanical GardenIf the Mildred E. Mathias Botanical Garden is not right, then my conclusion is that the site must be a large commercial building that has an adjacent gardens for show.
I would appreciate it if one of our LosAngeles area detectives (Chateau?) could state whether that corner of UCLA looks like the buildings shown in the photos in this thread.
