If those dates are accurate it is a great, great thing.  It means that cycle 13 (good or bad) will have no impact on filming.  In other words, if by chance (shut your mouth) cycle 13 bombs (I just jinxed us) then cycle 14 would already be filming before it happened.

Not only that, I think they could get Cycle 15 in the works, and it'll be like 2004-2005 again, with three season in a single TV season!  Looks like we'll get at least one good season out of that mix, but hopefully two or all three!

Its funny as much as I obsess over this show.  I never realized until 2 weeks ago that season 5, 6, and 7 where all on in such a short period of time.  And they built in ratings very well.

that's when I got hooked -- I started watching TAR5 in egypt, then to my surprise TAR 6 and 7 followed right away LOL AND then  I found out Rob and Amber were on TAR and I almost had a heart attack.

Now america knows why they came in second. I was rooting for them. BECAUSE EVERY FRIKEN DAY YOU SEE A PLANE TURN AROUND! i'm still mad (:;)

Ok I'm confused about the probable dates for filming TAR14, maybe somebody more experienced with this can help me out?
In the TAR14 application it states filming "lasting approximately 30 to 40 days starting sometime in or around mid-August – mid- October 2008".  Yet in Tony Diaz's resume he's hired to edit TAR13 from May08-Aug08. And somebody elsewhere stated that the fall season starts Sep 22 and that TAR13 is likely to start airing the week after that ie, Sep 28. Doesn't Phil, BvM et al have to be around for the editing and also for the premiere? So they're unlikely to leave till after that date. In fact, I took a quick look on the Wiki and there's never been a season where they start filming before the previous one started airing. The closest was Season 7, where filming started Nov 20, 2004, just 4 days after Season 6 started airing, Nov 16 (generally it's been at least a month or two). So that means filming is likely Oct-Nov, right?  Does this make sense to others here?

can we guess filming dates from this resume posting?

My thoughts are just that...

But I was thinking TAR13 could be in the can and ready to go by early August .

Then TAR 14 could be run mid Aug to mid Sept, leaving us plenty of time for publicity from Phil or BVM before our anticipated (guess) premiere date of Sept 28 for TAR 13 to start airing.

Despite them saying 30-40 days, TAR 13 was only 23 and TAR 12 was 21 so they have really tightened up their belts. I was hoping for a return to the 13 episodes myself...

But guess they could wait till later to film? They don't like to go too late though...was it AllStars that barely made it home for Christmas?

if i had to guess peach they will either film mid august-mid september or in the month of october for tar14. and yes AllStars barely made it home for christmas. about the 11 vs 13 thing, it matters how many cbs wants now.

Well I can understand the 11 episode order (on paper, not as a fan).  Since the typical season now days is 22 episodes long.  But the with things like AR (or Survivor) you have no reruns to air through out the year.  So I would think the 13 and 13, would help.

And if cycle 13 and 14 can stay in the performance range of 10 and 12, it wouldn't surprise me to see it go back up.

Or if the network wanted, they could simply edit the first and last episodes into two hours (certainly we have seen them do that many times with the opener).

As to the order for 30-40 days a week or so of that is most likely the final selection process when teams are brought in right before they start.  Gives them time fore all the interviews, questions about rules, ect.

Nice shout out to our last season's Final City that they are going there:

Anchorage Daily News

Published: May 21st, 2008 12:27 AM

The CBS reality show "The Amazing Race" plans to hold a casting call in Anchorage for two-person teams to compete in the show's 14th edition.

Participants can apply from 2 to 7 p.m. Thursday by downloading an application from www.ktva.com and bringing it to Bailey's Furniture at 350 W. International Airport Road, according to KTVA, the local CBS affiliate. Each team will get two minutes to explain why it should be chosen. If producers select the team, it could be asked to interview as a semi-finalist this summer. The ultimate prize will be $1 million, CBS said.

The final show of the 12th season aired last winter, with the winning team finishing in Anchorage, according to the show's Web site.
