umm finland isnt new... they went to hellsinkini, locha (sp?) and another city in S10.. they have also been to kiev, ukraine in S10 as well, estonia, tallin  season:15 .. uraguay, s5.... bucharest romania=s14 that was the home of the original double leg..other than that  2 complaints: im not a big fan of using australia in the middle of the race... i mean speaking english? but i guess it can work as a transfer... and the race has tried to go to antartica.. its just not possible because of the weather...

Wait what? Hungary was the home of the original double leg?

And in an interview that BVM and ED were in, they say that Antarctica wasn't on the schedule because the flights didn't fit their itinerary.
my bad i went to edit it and i forgot.. whoops ur right.. and betram said weather to

Yeah, it was the weather causing the flight delay. :P

so they can go to antarctica right?

Hungary was home of the original double leg. It was changed to that because producers found out begging was illegal in Hungary.

Only if there is no surprise or starting line elimination in the first leg.

There were a lot of grumblings about Antarctica as a destination, plus I'm bored so:

START: San Francisco, CA - Alamo Square Park

Leg 1: USA to Chile (Santiago)
-- Ideally, this will show off Santiago + surrounding areas better than TAR 16.  :res:

Leg 2: Chile (La Serena)
-- Desert-based legs  :conf:

Leg 3: Chile to Antarctica
-- Teams start off by flying to Punta Arenas and perhaps do some sort of task there
-- From there, they essentially follow this, although perhaps with more of a focus on (simple) research.
-- I would imagine there's some sort of convenient anti-bunching involved because otherwise everyone's going to be bunched together for the entire leg

Leg 4: Antarctica to Chile (Easter Island)
-- Because I enjoy torturing people with climate changes and because it's one of the last major landmarks untouched by WRP

Leg 5: Chile to Australia (Melbourne)
-- Because I enjoy torturing people with timezone changes. :) Because of the lengthy journey, I figured it would be easiest to visit a metropolis. Since WRP is probably never going to Sydney again after the TAR 18 opening leg, Melbourne is the next-largest choice.

Leg 6: Australia to South Africa (Johannesburg / Durban)
-- We haven't really had many 'urban' African legs so hopefully the possibilities of auto racing and casinos and wine will remedy that slightly.

Leg 7: South Africa to Lesotho (Maseru / Thaba Bosiu)
-- I'd be 'nice' enough to have them drive there but I could see charter flights being used.
-- This would be your standard 'everyday tasks in a small village' African leg

Leg 8: Lesotho to (South Africa) to Israel (Haifa / Caesarea)
-- Why...not? Israel is safe(r) to visit and even if they wanted to avoid the West Bank, there's still plenty to do.
-- In this case, 'things to do' include archaeology, art and lots of self-driving

Leg 9: Israel (Tel Aviv)
-- This may or may not be a nighttime party-based leg (not unlike Hamburg or Prague 2)

Leg 10: Israel to China (Tianjin)
-- Or 'how to have a leg in China without visiting the same three cities'
-- Ideally, teams fly to Beijing and travel by train to Tianjin so as to take care of the likely bunching that may result

Leg 11: China to Russia (Harbin / Khabarovsk)
-- Or 'how to have a vaguely European leg without visiting Europe'
-- If the Antarctic leg was 'work' based, this would be 'play' based. Ice-sculptures, museums, food, and drunken buffoonery - everything you would want in a penultimate leg

Leg 11: Russia to USA (Minneapolis)
-- yes, it's a random destination for a final leg but given that we've had Phoenix and the Florida Keys before a full leg in Texas...*shrugs*
-- the Mall of America, hockey, tree-climbing, a memory task involving the numerous bookstores in the area, and a cryptic clue from said bookstores to the finish line

FINISH: Longfellow Gardens, Minneapolis, MN

6 continents, (8 countries), 18 cities, over 40,000 miles, etc.

  • TAR - Survivor - BB - Pekín Express <3
There is a part of the Antarctic "near" Argentina. Is the most close, and maybe the most possible option. Anyway, i can't believe to do a leg here...

In another theme i was put my TAR whishlist. I put it here too.

I hope this season they will go to countries not visited yet, or been visited a few times (Portgual, Philppines, Laos, Nepal...) Obviously, not China, France, Japan, India...

Maybe it have a lot of "ignored" countries, but i like.

1 – USA - CUBA -> From NY to La Habanna. A fall from a skyscraper in NY will be amazing. TAR was never to Cuba.

2- CUBA – COSTA RICA -> Costa Rica is one of the most expected countries to see on the next season.

3- COSTA RICA – FIJI -> Oceania have more than Australia and NZ!

4 - FIJI – AUSTRALIA - PHILIPPINES -> Please, go Philippines.

5 -  PHILIPPINES – LAOS -> Laos, another beautiful country not visited yet.

6 – LAOS – NEPAL -> Like Laos.

7 – NEPAL – EGYPT -> A leg on the desert will be great, with pyramides, sphinx..

8 - EGYPT -> One leg for Africa is so poor.

9 – EGYPT – GREECE -> Greece is beautiful. They can go to Mykonos.

10 – GREECE – SPAIN -> I know Spain was visited on the 21st season, but it's my country, i want TAR go there. This time to Canary islands.

11 – SPAIN – PORTUGAL -> Portugal needs a visit.

12 – PORTUGAL – CANADA -> The semifinal.

13 – CANADA - USA -> The final in Alaska.

I think Africa need more legs too. There are so many countries in this continent are not visited yet.

In the other theme, they say Cuba or Egypt wouldn't possible, because Egypt is dangerous now, and maybe Cuba have problems with US. Other people tell that Cuba is possible. Idk.

By the way, we can change Egypt for Kenya (visited only one time) or another Africa country doesn't visited yet.

I was planning a leg on Tarragona (Catalonia,Spain) too (I live in a Tarragona town :D). I know in my whishlist i say Canary Island, but i like to explain "my leg". hahah

Tarragona, SPAIN.

Teams must go to Reus Airport and drive to Port Aventura Park.

RoadBlock: Teams must gather 6 points on the attractions. Every attraction have a number of points (Strong attractions have more points than the loose). Shambala, for examples, gives 3 points. Trunks, 2. Obviously, the strong attractions they have more queues of people too.

They drive to Rambla de Tarragona and search the Monument to the Castellers (Human towers) for the next clue.

Drive to Tarragona port for the next clue.
Detour.
1- Wine Tour: Teams must go to a vineyard around Tarragona and they have to make wine with their feets. They have to fill 2 jars and drink a little.
2- Banana Tour: Teams must go to Tarragona beach and search the Banana boat. The couple have to do a route without falling.

When teams complete the detour, they have to go to Tarraco amphitheater for the Pit Stop.

A first impression voting yield at the starting line. The yield/vote tally is not revealed until teams actually reach the yield somewhere throughout the episode.

Cuba is impossible due to the United States Embargo against Cuba. They can't do "business" with them, which would include visiting there and filming for a reality TV show.

For what it's worth, the US government has restarted the notion of people-to-people licensing. Theoretically WRP could work with one of the travel companies that provide services for American tourism in Cuba and build a leg around the guidelines of the Treasury Department, much in the same way that WRP worked with the Seychelles tourism board to build that country's leg in TAR 16.

In practice, and especially after the controversy of the leg in Hanoi this past season, I don't see Cuba being visited for a while.

Here's a thought for a Starting Line Task:

Teams open their first clue that cryptically tells them a hint based off one color of the first country's flag ("You will go to a land where the skies are BLUE", "People will turn GREEN with envy when they find out you are going here!", etc, etc)

Teams will then have to correctly pick the country's flag out of a large array of national flags placed throughout a field (note: not the large flags from S9, but much smaller, handheld sized flags. The kind you could put on a table/desk. They would be placed on walls, kind of like S15 starting line task).

What teams don't know is that they each received different clues about the flag (if the location was Ecuador: some teams would get a clue about red, others about blue, and the rest about yellow).

They would have to figure out that fact, find a way to work together, and still have to search throughout an assortment of flags with the same color combination.

I think it would be a very challenging and exciting task.

I'm personally digging the idea of having Latin America at the end of the race (and not just for one leg, either).

12 teams, 13 legs

Leg 1: Los Angeles, U.S.A. to Reykjavik, Iceland (EL- 12th place)
Leg 2: Reykjavik, Iceland to Rome, Italy to Vatican City (Fast Forward; EL- 11th place)
Leg 3: Rome to Naples, Italy (EL- 10th place)
Leg 4: Naples, Italy to Budapest, Hungary (Switchback; EL- 9th place)
Leg 5: Budapest, Hungary to Addis Ababa, Ethiopia (Double U-turn; EL- 8th place)
Leg 6: Addis Ababa, Ethiopia to Agra, India (KRL- 7 teams)
Leg 7: Agra, India to Kathmandu, Nepal (Fast Forward; EL- 7th place)
Leg 8: Kathmandu, Nepal to Manila, Philippines (NEL- 6th place)
Leg 9: Manila, Philippines to Melbourne, Australia (EL- 6th place)
Leg 10: Melbourne, Australia to Cuzco, Peru (Double U-turn; EL- 5th place)
Leg 11: Cuzco, Peru to Guayaquil, Ecuador (NEL- 4th place)
Leg 12: Guayaquil to Galapagos Islands, Ecuador (EL-4th place)
Leg 13: Ecuador to Belmopan, Belize to New Orleans, U.S.A. (Finale)

Key:
EL- Elimination Leg
NEL- Non Elimination Leg
KRL- Keep Racing Leg

6 continents, 13 countries, 2 new (Nepal and Belize)

I personally miss the final leg having a penultimate destination (Alaska, Hawaii, Puerto Rico, Canada, France) before heading to the Final City and would love to see them hit some of the countries that would otherwise get neglected because they're too close.
