I have a dream.
USA-> Spain (11 legs) -> USA.
:lol3:  Something similar this September... :lol:

Seriously. I just think that some islands such as Tuvalu, Micronesia or something like that could be used as a F4 leg. I really think they could be really creative legs.
I have also thought about some countries such as Venezuela, Argentina, Brazil (I don't even love South America in TAR, but, it's a different atmosphere) but going to little cities where the tradition of the countries is found. I mean, if you go to Rio, it is ultra-modernized for the Olympics and soooo on. But little cities have the enchant of Brazilian culture, for example.
Other countries such as Turkey, India, even China, have already been visited, but I'm afraid they could place legs in there soooo different to those they made in their visits to these countries. My 2 cents: Seen countries with unseen sites.

One "dream" route I have:
Leg 1 USA -> Chile
Leg 2 Chile -> Falklands
Leg 3 Falklands -> Fiji
Leg 4 Fiji -> Philippines
Leg 5 Philippines
Leg 6 Philippines -> Indonesia
Leg 7 Indonesia -> Nepal
Leg 8 Nepal -> Latvia
Leg 9 Latvia -> Belarus
Leg 10 Belarus -> Ukraine
Leg 11 Ukraine -> Panama
Leg 12 Panama -> USA

And this route bypasses the Atlantic (and the lower 48), starting westward across the Pacific and turning back eastward across Eurasia.
Leg 1 Honolulu -> Australia
Leg 2 Australia -> Philippines
Leg 3 Philippines
Leg 4 Philippines -> South Africa
Leg 5 South Africa -> Greece
Leg 6 Greece -> Belarus
Leg 7 Balarus -> Latvia
Leg 8 Latvia - Vladivostok, Russia
Leg 9 Vladivostok, Russia -> Magadan, Russia
Leg 10 Russia -> Jeju, South Korea
Leg 11 Jeju -> Busan, South Korea
Leg 12 South Korea -> Anchorage, AK

And before all the Mideast turmoil...
Leg 1 USA -> Andorra
Leg 2 Andorra -> Moldova
Leg 3 Moldova -> Tunisia
Leg 4 Tunisia
Leg 5 Tunisia -> Algeria
Leg 6 Algeria -> Mauritius
Leg 7 Mauritius -> Nepal
Leg 8 Nepal -> Philippines
Leg 9 Philippines
Leg 10 Philippines -> Fiji
Leg 11 Fiji -> Panama
Leg 12 Panama -> USA

A good place to map your dream routes: http://www.travellerspoint.com/member_map.cfm :tup:

With the new travel warning out today, I guess TAR returning to the Philippines remains out of the question. Sad, but oh well.

Philippines
June 14, 2011
The Department of State warns U.S. citizens of the risks of terrorist activity in the Philippines, particularly in the Sulu Archipelago and on the island of Mindanao. Terrorist attacks could be indiscriminate and could occur in other areas, to include Manila. Targeted sites may be public gathering places including, but not limited to, airports, shopping malls, conference centers, and other public venues. This Travel Warning replaces the Travel Warning dated November 2, 2010, and updates specific regions of concern and reflects continuing threats due to terrorist and insurgent activities.

They could always stay far north though.  There's plenty to do with farming and animals, there's spelunking caves, they can do whitewater rafting on the Cagayan River, do something along the north coast.  They wouldn't even have to leave the airport in Manila, just connect to a flight heading to one of the airports up north.

I'd love for TARUS to go back to the Philippines, but I guess best best is to wait for TARA or TARAu to.  :food:

As far as where TAR goes, it wouldn't make no nary mind to me.   Wherever they send you will be exciting.  My wishlist would be to be Boston Rob's teammate as a fan+favorite  team.  Spending time with that rapcsallion while he schemes his way through the race would be priceless.  It would do this golden years mom's heart good.  And believe me, I would not scold.  I would just enjoy.  :<)

It seems like they have enough semi-celebrities every season.
Physics alone is not enough.

Yeah, the problem with a celeb edition is the level of "celebrity" that can actually run the Race without there being problems with security and being recognized around the world.  You've got the Sarah Jessica Parker-level TAR fan who would love to do the Race, but realistically, TAR would have to settle for D-listers and other reality castoffs which would... well, it's better not to think about it.  :lol:

I think celeb editions are more fitting for BB or Survivor, but not exactly TAR.

I have a dream route that I have been working on for a while now... see what you guys can make of it  :duno:

Leg 1: Philadelphia, USA - Tikal, Guatemala [10 teams left]
Leg 2: Tikal, Guatemala - Caracas, Venezuela [9 teams left]
This would be a history (Philly) and culture (Mayan culture) themed route. Teams might have to drive 4 hours from Guatemala city to the ruins in Tikal and perform cultural tasks. I also wanted the race to cover South America, but not too much, so Venezuela was chosen.

Leg 3: Caracas, Venezuela - Libreville, Gabon [NEL]
Leg 4: Gabon (Estuaire, Atlantic Equatorial Coastal Ecoforest regions) [8 teams left]
Gabon was given two legs as it was the only African country visited. The tasks and destination would be particularly nature-oriented; Gabon has the largest percentage of nature reserves by total land area, in the region.

Leg 5: Libreville, Gabon - Helsinki, Finland [NEL]
Leg 6: Finland (Rovaniemi) [7 teams left]
Helsinki is chosen as this leg's obligatory modern European city. Also, I felt we needed some cold here. In the additional leg, racers visit Rovaniemi, the capital of Finnish Lapland. I just can't get enough of the orgasmic arctic circle leg in Season 17.

Leg 7: Helsinki, Finland - Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia [6 teams left]
Again, change in environment from modern city to sandy desert dunes and rolling plains. Fulfils my Genghis Khan Silk Road fantasy. I like it a lot.

Leg 8: Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia - Kathmandu, Nepal [NEL]
Leg 9: Nepal (Pokhara and Annapurna mountain range) [5 teams left]
New country. Also, to visit the mountain range of the Everest in a full leg would be a nice respite from the Andes and Swiss alps that we have seen in previous seasons.

Leg 10: Kathmandu, Nepal - Singapore, Singapore [4 teams left]
After the majesty of untouched wilderness, we need a last big modern city destination before End City. (Sorry beautiful beaches of Indonesia!) It was a toss-up between Singapore and Wellington, New Zealand, but I decided to choose Singapore due to its multiculturalism and availability of flights. In previous visits, the culture of this city was not emphasised enough, especially in Season 16 where it was overshadowed by the fast-forward and u-turn drama all in one leg. Another problem I anticipate would be that the final 4 can be easily identified in the little island. But one can dream.

Leg 11: Singapore, Singapore - Suva, Fiji [3 teams left for finals]
I've said umpteenth times that we NEED a south pacific nation as a final elimination stop in West to East routes. There is quiet, island culture, what's not to love? Also, as it is more secluded, this will be able to hide racers' identity better.

Leg 12: Suva, Fiji - Salt Lake City, Utah
SLC as End City just to be away from the West-Coast-city in-your-face that plague the final leg. Also ties in nicely with the fact that many destinations in this race are different and off the beaten track.

New locales: Guatemala, Venezuela, Gabon, Nepal, Fiji, Denver and Philly
Old locales: Finland, Mongolia, Singapore (all were only used once or twice in the race)

Other locations that NEED to happen:
Europe & Americas;
Greece is really beautiful and a good break from stock European locations Italy, France, Germany, but not likely due to financial crisis.
Turkey is really affordable, I have no idea why they are not going there!
Greenland & Antarctic - would be fun but I'm not desperate over it. Too expensive.
Yugoslavian bloc + Ukraine, Lat/Lith - needs to happen seriously.
Canada - neglected
Asia & Oceania;
Cambodia, Thailand, Vietnam, Philippines - strictly the inner parts only, big cities overdone
Indonesia - but my dream came true already :) why oh why did it take so long though?
Mongolia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan - totally my Silk Road fantasy
South India please - they've done north and east, so please do Chennai or Kerala (again!) or something
China - overdone but it's so big it never gets old if you visit different cities each season. New awesome cities: Hainan, Guangzhou, Xiamen, Hangzhou, Suzhou, Harbin, Chengdu, Nanning, Guiyang, Wuhan, Hefei, Huangshan mountains etc... the list could go on
Bhutan & Tibet - if they can get in Bhutan
Papua New Guinea and South Pacific islands - new scenery
Tasmania

Thanks for reading guys, I put a lot of creativity into it, let me know what you think  :)

Watching TARAu has made me really want Israel on TARUS, even though I know it is more than likely not going to happen.

Guyana > Fiji
Fiji > Philippines (2 legs)
Philippines > Korea
Korea > Nepal
Nepal > Israel (2 legs)
Israel > Greece (2 legs)
Greece > Seattle
