WARNING: Travel in Sudan outside Khartoum and its suburb Omdurman is considered dangerous. Two borderline civil wars continue to see violence, in Southern Sudan and particularly in Darfur, while extremist groups target foreign visitors for attacks and kidnapping, particularly in the Upper Nile regions targetting foreigners related to the oil industry. The U.S. State Department has renewed its annual travel advisory for Sudan, and continues to recommend against all non-essential travel to the country.
The story so far:
In the beginning the Universe was created.
This has made a lot of people very angry and has been widely regarded as a bad move

Montreal.......

I would like to see TAR use this wonderful city. Lots of cultural stuff there. It could  be the first leg after leaving LAX or could be the next to last leg, before ending in some city on the East Coast, besides NYC or Miami, for a change. TAR has used every single major city on the West Coast, except Los Angeles and San Diego for a finish line.

Boston, Philly, DC, or Atlanta (Peach at the Finish Line).

Prague would be nice too.

Dr. Rox, perhaps you missed Amazing Race 8. The penultimate city was Montreal, but teams only had time to search Expos stadium for plane tickets and then get to the airport for a charter flight early morning to Toronto. I agree that Montreal makes a good place for an Amazing Race stop, but so would Vancouver, Edmonton, Winnipeg, Regina and Halifax. I expect we will see other Canadian cities before we see Montreal again.

or is it considered an unsafe country by the U.S. department of whatever its called...?

i'd look it up myself, but i lost the link to the site that marks countries safe to travel to or not, and as you can tell i have no idea what that department is... is it the department of safety?

It is the Department of State, David.

I think you can find everything on travel warnings and restrictions through this link:

My attempt at a new CBS-friendly race:

Start City: Atlanta, Georgia
Leg 1: to Gibraltar (I always though this could be done like TARA, where the Detour is in Start City, then there's a RB/Pit Stop in Gibraltar)
Leg 2: to Leplis Magna, Libya
Leg 3: to Innsbruck, Austria to Vaduz, Liechtenstein
Leg 4: to Cape Town, South Africa (and for added fun, don't tell them where to fly from. Liechtenstein had no airports but train service to Zurich, Vienna, Milan, Munich and other cities in that region)
Leg 5: still in Cape Town, South Africa (making up for the lack of Africa in most races)
Leg 6: to Victoria, Seychelles
Leg 7: to Ahmedabad, India (either with a TBC in Mumbai or transit through Mumbai)
Leg 8: to Kuala Belait, Brunei
Leg 9: to Sydney, Australia (I can't believe we've had only one half leg in Sydney)
Leg 10: to Nadi, Fiji
Finish city: St. Louis, Missouri (Midwest <3)

I think Atlanta could be a seriously fine city for a start, loads of great places to use. With the added benefit for CBS of giving me a heart attack when I missed it! :funny:

Inspired by Joab in the hope of an epic Singapore leg. Sucksters claim it's impossible, but we could try! (Oh since we're bored anyway.)

Detour: Food in Mouth or Foot in Mouth

Really, if there's anything that makes Singapore unique, it's that it can cobble together so many different ethnicities and cultures and have everyone actually get along... This Detour is a testament to the state's (relative) success.

I demand that any Singapore leg be run entirely on public transport.

Food in Mouth
Travel by public transport to three different locations and finish a serving of local food:

Progress from relatively easy to the tourist-killer... Teams get the next instructions after finishing at each location.

"Sambal Belacan" at Kampung Glam
  Shrimp paste with rice
  Influence: Malay
"Fish Head Curry" (written in Tamil, geez I have no idea!) at Little India
Indian spices and the weirdness of eating a fish's head
  Influence: S Indian
"榴槤" at Geylang
Durian, well we all know this one
Influence: SE Asian in general, but the Geylang shops are Chinese

Foot in Mouth
Travel by public transport to three different locations using audio messages on a cell phone:

Locals may not listen in on the phone, so teams would have to convey the message orally. Problem is, teams must find someone of the correct race/ethnicity to be able to translate the message, and that's if they can pronounce it correctly. Cue absolute communication breakdown.

"Rumah Baba di Jalan Neil" (Baba House on Neil St)
  Peranakan terrace-house, built 1860s
  Language: Peranakan Malay
"Oo Chia Zui Thien Hock Keng" (Temple of Heavenly Happiness in Chinatown)
Oldest Hokkien temple in Singapore, built 1821
  Language: Hokkien Chinese
"Boon Keng Wadda Gurdwara" (Central Sikh Temple in Boon Keng)
Oldest Sikh temple in Singapore, built 1912
  Language: Punjabi

My Roadblock is a cruel poke at the Government, but that's for another day.

possible cast (not necessarily my wishlist):

1. young dating couple
2. young dating couple take 2  fit middle-aged F/F team (a la Bowling Moms)
3. fighting couple (married or dating)
4. older dating couple (grandparents?)
5. homosexual couple (haven't seen one of those in a while) (male or female)
6. siblings (very popular in recent seasons)
7. siblings part 2 (twins please...)
8. parent/child (also very popular in recent races)
9. other possible family relationships (i.e. cousins, grandparent/child, aunt or uncle/niece or nephew)
10. best friends
11. best friends II
12. co-workers (love that they had one in the Israeli version)

i really hope that my guess for number 9 isn't cousins, since i want to use the absence of a cousin team since Charla/Mirna to my advantage  when I apply with my cousin (unfortunately, we have to wait a couple years before we are able to apply....)

My wishlist for teams:

1. F/F - 20's
2. M/F - Alpha couple in their 20's
3. M/F - Couple, mid-aged
4. F/F - 30's or 40's, possibly lesbian, doesn't matter.
5. M/M - Brothers, haven't seen a good bro team since Brian/Greg in TAR7.
6. M/F - Father/daughter team, but not one having issues like Ron & Christina. End result was good, but it was tiresome to see dad beat up on daughter.

Go from there.
Just here to visit.

My Wishlist for TAR 15 Teams:

1. A Lesbian Mom/Daughter (We had a gay Father/Son, why not this one? This would rock!)
2. A Step parent and step child - similar to TARI
3. Grandmother/Grandson/daughter team...
4. M/M brothers, I have to agree with TARAsia Fan
5. Another Asian team!
- The two "whole Asian" teams (12, 14) rocked so much, I wonder what makes Asian women stay in the race longer? Could it be because of the stereotyping or the tradition and culture imposed?
6. A sibling team with ages of 40 and above
7. Another set of Married Parents, loveable ones like Teri and Ian and Kentina
8. Travel Agents or Owners of Travel Agencies...! That would be epic!
9. RFF Forumers... Who doesn't?
10. An engaged team of the third sex...
11. Doctors ^_^

Teams with stories to tell (at most one per season please, we're not going for contrived!):

Cousins - One a first-generation US immigrant, the other someone from back home.
City mouse shows country mouse the values of an American, while country mouse reminds city mouse of his heritage. Also, culture shock within a team. (Hell, that's my one shot at making the race. Call me CBS!)

Siblings - One born to the parents, another adopted.
Pair learns to accept each other's differences, and understand that they're not too different after all.

Friends - Have been friends online for years, but have hardly met in person. 21st century equivalent of pen-pals.
Little lies come back to haunt the relationship, as the duo realize that coming clean to each other is the best way to move forward.

If I was going to apply I think this is the one I would choose...someone you "know", work with every day, but have no idea what they are like in person!! Oh the shock!! :funny:

I've thought this could be oh so entertaining for years, and has the benefit of being a NEW team interdynamic, and those are hard to come by!

Plus ....   ____________ and I would ROCK!!  :hearts:

distant cousins would be an interesting dynamic...

although, that is basically my best chance of making it on the race.

the cousin i want to race with is my 7th cousin, not necessarily the closest blood relative out there...

It would be silly, but perhaps a C-list celebrity version or Big Brother-themed or Survivor-themed TAR. Just for our sake we could put together a list.
