Erebus, your idea of 2 detours and 2 single u-turns in a single leg sound amazing to me, but...
It would be really hard to execute, if we try to imagine it in actual TAR. Just imagine a scenario, where the 1st team passes the first board without u-turning, but decides to u-turn at the second board, without knowing that a certain team was already u-turned after they left.
Or, even, the 1st-place team might be so in front that they u-turn somebody at the second board BEFORE someone else arrives at the first board and u-turns the same team.

There will be a slot in the upper right corner for any team that gets u-turned first. This is where a picture of them will be. That way, production teams can contact who got u-turned first and mark it on the boards.

I'd actually like a spin-off of TAR in US areas only, but it might not be a success after TAR8. :(

Meanwhile, I wish TAR is not always having pre-detour U-turns or W-turns. I'd like a mix of it depending where it fits best.

Meh. If they're going to have the U-Turn before the Detour they might as go all the way and make it a Must Vote U-Turn like in international seasons; that way there's guaranteed drama. That said,

Also, not having them announced on any clue would be a great surprise factor in my opinion.

YES.  :bunny If they do this I would even be okay with the unlimited U-Turns coming back and there being three or four in a season.

So a bit of a wishlist here for an Amazing Race: New Zealand

Leg 1: Auckland, New Zealand - Alice Springs, Australia (I feel that the Northern Territory is underused and Alice Springs is an incredible place. A non-elimination leg to start the race off)

Leg 2: Alice Springs, Australia - Tokyo, Japan (Tokyo is a great place and I feel that with the leg in South Korea, There could be a sort of Pokemon challenge or even Dragon Ball Z as they are both famous franchises in the western world)

Leg 3: Tokyo, Japan - Shenzhen, China (A big city China leg that will have teams scrambling with a zero hour Pit stop where teams race inland)

Leg 4: Shenzhen, China - Xian, China (A leg that will deal with rural China plus have a return to the famous task on Mount Hua with the locks)

Leg 5: Xian, China - Muscat, Oman (A really cool country that deserves another leg. Pull the roadblock from TAR9 and some other tasks for a great leg)

Leg 6: Muscat, Oman - Windhoek, Namibia (I saw a lot of Namibia on The Grand Tour and I'd like to see more of this amazing city)

Leg 7: Windhoek, Namibia - Walvis Bay, Namibia (A coastal leg in Namibia could be incredible)

Leg 8: Walvis Bay, Namibia - Johannesburg, South Africa (A underused city in a undervisited country!)

Leg 9: Johannesburg, South Africa - Buenos Aries, Argentina - Montevideo, Uruguay (First a few tasks like a detour or a couple of ARIs then take a ferry to Uruguay)

Leg 10: Montevideo, Uruguay (Continue with some more tasks in Uruguay for a country that hasn't really been touched)

Leg 11: Montevideo, Uruguay - Puerto Montt, Chile (A region of Chile that I don't think has been used that much at all)

Leg 12: Puerto Montt, Chile to Wellington, New Zealand (A final leg in the capital of New Zealand, with a task at the Weta Workshop, The famous Basin Reserve with a possible finish line on Mount Victoria or at Westpac Stadium)
It's Clobbering Time!

The Amazing American Race 1

Starting Line: Walt Disney Concert Hall, Los Angeles, California, United States

Leg 1: Los Angeles, California (surfing task)
Leg 2: Los Angeles, California-Honolulu, Hawaii (The RoadBlock is the Sandcastle roadblock from S22)
Leg 3: Honolulu, Hawaii-Juneau, Alaska (snow task)
Leg 4: Juneau, Alaska-Las Vegas, Nevada (gambling task)
Leg 5: Las Vegas, Nevada-Chicago, Illionis (sport task)
Leg 6: Chicago, Illionis-New York City, New York (food task)
Leg 7: New York City, New York-Philadelphia, Pennsylavia (tram task)
Leg 8: Philadelphia, Pennsylavia-Washington D.C, Maryland (political task)
Leg 9: Washington D.C, Maryland-Charlotte, North Carolina (Native American task)
Leg 10: Charlotte, North Carolina-Altanta, Georgia (peach-eating task)
Leg 11: Altanta, Georgia-Birmingham, Alabama (redneck task)
Leg 12: Birmingham, Alabama-Orlando, Florida (teams have to spot the finish line, from on top of a ride)

Finish Line: Magic Kingdom, Walt Disney World, Orlando, Florida, United States

As you can see, I have tried to put a task in each leg, that is unique to the state they are visiting.

As always, your thoughts are welcomed!

Just fyi DC isn't in Maryland.

And saying that about Alabama is borderline offensive.

Also you could honestly do the 'unique tasks' from legs 4 through 12 all within about 100 miles of DC.  :angel

That said Disney to Disney is clever and I like that so yay  :bunny

Also here's a fun theme season that will possibly upset most of the active users of this thread  :funny:

TAR 30: Brought To You By Wonderful Taiwan and Fiji (and some other countries that could use the help)

START: Mt. Orizaba, Catalina Is., CA
LEG 1: to Havana, Cuba (liiiiike....there are legitimately and legally far less auspicious reasons people have managed to get to Cuba so here we are)
LEG 2: to Kingston and the Blue Mountains, Jamaica
LEG 3: to Stockholm, Sweden*
LEG 4: to the Aland Is., Finland
LEG 5: to Lefkara, Cyprus
LEG 6: to Antananarivo, Madagascar
LEG 7: to Tsingy National Park, Madagascar
LEG 8: to Taichung and Nantou County, Taiwan*
LEG 9: to Xiamen, China (sue me, it's a new city in China)
LEG 10: to the Yasawa Islands, Fiji
LEG 11: to San Francisco, CA
FINISH: Treasure Island, San Francisco

* indicates a leg followed by no rest period; the first still results in an elimination (like TARLA) while second is a standard NEL with penalty.

Also there's assuredly a Switchback to the container task of TAR 25  :bunny (sadly no Australia, UK, Indonesia, NZ, or Philippines I hope you can forgive me :))

Brilliant route but I'm not sure about the San Francisco final city. Feels kind of overused to me.

With the existence of the F4F in the past, I'd actually want to see an F5 penultimate leg. The final leg will then have 4 teams, but a checkpoint will take one team out before they can finish the race.

San Francisco needs to be a Starting Line for a Westward route/Asia/Oceania first Leg and/or visited by an international TAR for a full Leg  :hoot:

San Francisco hasn't had a summer finale if the race goes Westward route from Los Angeles start. It would be great for San Fran on TAR 30 finale city.

With justmjlayson's wishlist route suggestion for season 30 on page 150 (as the show has recently renewed for that season), here's the (newly) revised route with slight changes.

Similar leg wishlist design in my old post: http://forum.realityfanforum.com/index.php/topic,15213.msg1189014.html#msg1189014

START: Pasadena, California, USA
Leg 1: Melbourne, Australia (2 flights, arriving 30 minutes apart in the morning)
Leg 2: Hobart, Tasmania, Australia (fishing task, mountain bike riding task, snow task if filmed in like July, SELF-DRIVING)*
Leg 3: Nagoya, Japan (search ninjas in Nagoya Castle, find a clue at either Tsuruma Park or Kosho-ji and pit stop at Port of Nagoya)
Leg 4: Siem Reap, Cambodia (eat tarantulas at Psah Chas Night Market, search a pendant onto a monks in Angkor Wat, Pit Stop at Pre Rup)
Leg 5: Phnom Penh, Cambodia (visit Tuol Sleng Genocide Museum to observe silence for Khmer Rouge victims, becoming tuk tuk driver task)
Leg 6: Paarl and Stellenbosch, South Africa (winery tasks)
Leg 7: Cape Town, South Africa (bungee jump roadblock; searching gems task)
Leg 8: Rovaniemi, Lapland, Finland (visit Santa Claus' house, dog sledding task in summer, take a sauna, SELF-DRIVING)**
Leg 9: Gothenburg, Sweden
Leg 10: Madrid, Spain
Leg 11: Dublin, Ireland (Irish beer, camogie/hurling)
Leg 12: San Francisco, California, USA

*At the immediate start of Leg 2, teams must book a overnight ferry from Melbourne to Devonport, Tasmania. Upon arrival,
they would choose a marked car to drive to Cradle Mountain for a Detour, then Roadblock and Active Route Marker task in Hobart just like TAR 29 Leg 8.

**Prior to arrive in Rovaniemi, teams must take a flight to Helsinki and catch a overnight train ride to Rovaniemi.

Australia (18) + Japan (26) + Cambodia (15) + South Africa (7) + Finland (10) + Sweden (25) + Spain (24) + Ireland (12) = Total combination would be 137.

Route Map

Leg 1: NEL/TBC/KOR
Leg 2: F11 elimination
Leg 3: F10 elimination
Leg 4: F9 elimination
Leg 5: F8 elimination
Leg 6: F7 NEL
Leg 7: F7 elimination
Leg 8: F6 elimination
Leg 9: F5 NEL
Leg 10: F5 elimination
Leg 11: F4 elimination
Leg 12: F3

Bourkie would be proud if TAR 30 will get its Tasmania visit ever in the franchise, thus three recent TAR seasons did traverse the eastward route, so let's get the westward route that is a way overdue.
