I was taking about the four years because Aspkip and I had a similar discussion on which countries were part of North, Central and South America then, regarding how different some topics are taught in our respective schools.

And as you read I said nothing on what you thought about the route because I respect your opinion, what is a golden rule here. So keep the sarcasm for yourself, ok? Thanks.

I figured it was time to bring back an old but fun challenge that some of you did, it seems:

Also another new challenge, this time with difficulty levels  :conf:

1. Must start and end in US with 12-13 legs.
2. For each country chosen as well as the Finish Line, find the last season that hosted a leg for it on TAR and note the season number. The total for your season should be less than 110.

For example, TAR 28 would be: 3 (Mexico) + 0 (Colombia) + 24 (Switzerland) + 27 (France) + 0 (Armenia) + 0 (Georgia) + 23 (UAE) + 23 (Indonesia) + 27 (China) + 25 (Los Angeles) = 152, that could be dropped down with like...any better penultimate country / finish line.

Notes: a) only count places that had actual tasks or RIs (so Kenya is 0, notably), b) dependant territories should be separate from their home countries (Greenland, French Polynesia, etc) c) separate the individual countries of the UK when calculating (though they're all pretty high so...), d) this thread is spoiler free and thus goes up to TAR 28; any TAR 29 destination visited should have its 'old' score)

Starting line: Santa Monica Pier, Los Angeles

Leg 1: Melbourne, Australia
Leg 2: Suva, Fiji
Leg 3: Nadi, Fiji
Leg 4: Seoul, South Korea
Leg 5: Yangon, Myanmar
Leg 6: Taipei, Taiwan
Leg 7: Tashkent, Uzbekistan
Leg 8: Samarkand, Uzbekistan
Leg 9: Vienna, Austria
Leg 10: Zwettl, Austria
Leg 11: Dublin, Ireland
Leg 12: Atlanta, USA

Total: Australia (18) + Fiji (0) + South Korea (17) + Myanmar (0) + Taiwan (19) + Uzbekistan (0) + Austria (23) + Ireland (12) + Atlanta (19) = 108

(I tried to make it so that the travel time between two places wouldn't be too long)

Okay so here's one for BourkieBoy's TAR Latin America:

Starting Line: Santiago, Chile
Leg 1: Punta Arenas, Chile
Leg 2: Stanley, Falkland Islands
Leg 3: Buenos Aires, Argentina
Leg 4: Santa Fe, Argentina
Leg 5: Belo Horizonte, Brazil
Leg 6: Ouro Preto, Brazil
Leg 7: San Jose, Costa Rica
Leg 8: Madrid, Spain (the Spanish colonized all of Latin America except for Brazil, so this would be like tar Canada going to England or France!)
Leg 9: Toledo, Spain
Leg 10: Havana, Cuba
Leg 11: Viñales Valley, Cuba
Leg 12: Cabo San Lucas, Mexico

And the Zack's Score Based Tar:

Starting Line: New York City, NY, USA
Leg 1: Dublin, Ireland
Leg 2: Killarney & County Kerry, Ireland
Leg 3: Banjul, Gambia
Leg 4: Banjul, Gambia
Leg 5: Cagliari, Italy
Leg 6: Prague, Czech Republic
Leg 7: Khasab, Oman
Leg 8: Mandalay, Myanmar
Leg 9: Yangon, Myanmar
Leg 10: Sihanoukville, Cambodia (who thinks of a coastal resort in Cambodia, am I right?)
Leg 11: Vancouver, Canada
Leg 12: Portland & the Columbia River Region, OR, USA

Score = 12 (Ireland) + 0 (Gambia) + 25 (Italy) + 15 (Czech Republic) + 17 (Oman) + 0 (Myanmar) + 15 (Cambodia) + 8 (Canada) + 13 (Portland) = 105

I very much like the second route and MOST of the first route. I think the Falkland Islands is part of the U.K. Spain is in Europe and I asked for a route in North, South, Central America and/or the Carribean. But yeah, good route.

The Falklands are geographically part of South America and officially governed by the UK, although Argentina has made / still is making claim to them. It would be the equivalent of using French Guiana or one of the dependencies of the Caribbean (Curacao, British Virgin Isles, etc.).

That said-

START: Mexico City, Mexico
Leg 1: Guadalajara, Mexico
Leg 2: Vinales, Cuba
Leg 3: Santiago de Cuba, Cuba
Leg 4: Willemstad, Curacao, NA
Leg 5: Arashi, Aruba, NA
Leg 6: Buenos Aires, Argentina
Leg 7: Colonia, Uruguay
Leg 8: Iquitos, Peru
Leg 9: Bogota, Colombia
Leg 10: Guatemala City, Guatemala
Leg 11: Antigua, Guatemala
Leg 12: Districto Federal, Mexico

I *was* going to try and shove in a US or Canada leg but as it turns out visa requirements for the US are awful lol, especially for a competition like TARLA which has teams from different nationalities.

I can't believe I'm doing this again almost four years later. (Somewhere in heaven aspkip should be laughing, loudly)

The islands of Cuba and Puerto Rico are part of the Greater Antilles archipelago, one of the main group of islands of the Caribbean.

Mexico is North America - at least for us who live in Latin America -.

And if you mean by North America going to USA or Canada, sorry they're off limits.

I miss Apskip....

Another proposal of TAR 30 wishlist route that would make better:

Link to the first one: http://forum.realityfanforum.com/index.php/topic,15213.msg1171369.html#msg1171369

Leg 1: Los Angeles, California to Melbourne, Australia (18)
Leg 2: Stay in Melbourne, Australia; including surrounding suburbs (-)
Leg 3: ... to Queenstown, New Zealand (ending in Arrowtown) (22)
Leg 4: ... to Legazpi, Philippines (25)
Leg 5: ... to Phnom Penh, Cambodia (15)
Leg 6: ... to Port Elizabeth, South Africa (ending either in Jeffreys Bay or Storms River) (7)
Leg 7: ... to Cape Town, South Africa (-)
Leg 8: ... to Zagreb, Croatia (12)
Leg 9: ... to Barcelona, Spain (24)
Leg 10: ... to Brussels, Belgium (19)
Leg 11: ... to Kingston, Jamaica (ending in Ocho Rios) (7)
Leg 12: ... to Miami, Florida (all; because TAR always starts and ends in the U.S.)

Total scores:
Australia (18) + New Zealand (22) + Philippines (25) + Cambodia (15) + South Africa (7) + Croatia (12) + Spain (24) + Belgium (19) + Jamaica (7) = 149

Apologize for posting the (duplicate) Australian flag as mistake for New Zealand, but it has been corrected.

This is kind of a mix of my Tar30 wishlist and what I could actually see the route being.

SL : Los Angeles, California 🇺🇸

1. Melbourne, Australia 🇦🇺
2. Tasmania, Australia 🇦🇺
3. Cebu Island, The Philippines 🇵🇭 (Half Cebu City half the rural part of the island)
4. Siem Reap, Cambodia 🇰🇭
5. Sihanoukville & Koh Rong, Cambodia 🇰🇭
6. Udaipur, India 🇮🇳
7. Rural Western Cape, South Africa 🇿🇦 (Wine County + Game Reserves)
8. Cape Town, South Africa 🇿🇦
9. Sarajevo & Mostar, Bosnia & Herzegovina 🇧🇦 (New Country  :conf:)
10. Split, Croatia 🇭🇷
11. Barcelona or Madrid, Spain 🇪🇸
12. New Orleans, Louisana 🇺🇸

If this were to happen it would be the first even numbered season to not visit Switzerland or Germany since season 12!

This is kind of a mix of my Tar30 wishlist and what I could actually see the route being.

SL : Los Angeles, California 🇺🇸

1. Melbourne, Australia 🇦🇺
2. Tasmania, Australia 🇦🇺
3. Cebu Island, The Philippines 🇵🇭 (Half Cebu City half the rural part of the island)
4. Siem Reap, Cambodia 🇰🇭
5. Sihanoukville & Koh Rong, Cambodia 🇰🇭
6. Udaipur, India 🇮🇳
7. Rural Western Cape, South Africa 🇿🇦 (Wine County + Game Reserves)
8. Cape Town, South Africa 🇿🇦
9. Sarajevo & Mostar, Bosnia & Herzegovina 🇧🇦 (New Country  :conf:)
10. Split, Croatia 🇭🇷
11. Barcelona or Madrid, Spain 🇪🇸
12. New Orleans, Louisana 🇺🇸

If this were to happen it would be the first even numbered season to not visit Switzerland or Germany since season 12!
