  • Fearless of ticket agents - too hot to be handled!
This is one that I feel that The Amazing Race Australia (or if an Amazing Race New Zealand is introduced) should only really visit. Gallipoli, Turkey. It's nearly 100 years since the landing at ANZAC cove, both my mother's grandfathers fought in World War 1 and it would be an incredibly moving place to visit.
I thank your great-grandparents for their service. :love2:

:hearts: I would love to see a Salt Lake City finale some day. It's such an underrated location with much potential.

Plus, another Chicago finale would make my day because I live near the downtown area. :yess:

Yes, Chicago does need another finale. There was only one task, and it involved eating pizza, something most Americans eat almost every month. Many of the first 11 seasons' finale cities need to be redone, because they involved intermediate destinations with only 0-2 tasks in the actual final city.

Gino's East Pizzeria :luvya: The restaurant has Chicago history written all over though. It's where the deep dish pizza rose to be an American phenomenon. Thereafter TAR6 visited the original location, the pizzeria has become a chain restaurant serving the Chicago area.

(I've eaten dinner at the original Gino's a few times before and the chefs there make the best cannolis in the city. :) )

Made a wintertime SLC finale Leg :<3

X (X Int'l Airport) to Salt Lake City, Utah, USA (Salt Lake City Int'l Airport)
• Salt Lake City (Gilgal Sculpture Garden)
• Salt Lake City (DPS Ski Salon)
• Park City (Canyons Resort)
• Salt Lake City (Seagull Monument, Temple Square)
• Syracuse (Antelope Island State Park - Bridger Bay)
• Salt Lake City (Stansbury Island)
Tasks -->
Show content
In this Detour, teams chose between Slope or Sleuth. In Slope, teams must complete a ski slalom course. They had to pass between each set of flags on an expert slope in less than 45 seconds to receive their next clue. ("Slope is physically demanding, but teams with great agility could breeze ahead.) In Sleuth, teams received a map and piece of paper in their clue with navigation directions to locate one of three thermos hidden under the immense amount of snow. Teams had to figure out they had to use their skis to measure end-to-end in the exact beelines the paper says. Once teams uncover a thermos, they must open it to find their next clue. ("Sleuth" is a thought-provoking task, but teams who are quick with their wits may find themselves uncovering a lead.) In the final RB, one team member must arrange eleven cube crates with silhouettes of past items and locations on shelves requesting certain tasks (DT, RB, RI) to receive their final clue. However, although a shelf may have more than one answer, there is only one group of silhouettes that fulfill all eleven shelves.

Additional tasks
• Upon arriving at Gilgal Sculpture Garden, teams had to find a grasshopper (referring to a literal statue). Nearby would be an unbodied clue box.
• At DPS Ski Salon, teams had to pick up two pairs of skis, ski poles, and mittens along with their next clue
• After the Detour, teams had to travel by taxi to the "miracle of the gulls". They had to figure out the obscure phrase referred to the seagull statue at Temple Square emphasizing a Mormon folklore.
• After the Roadblock, teams had to steer a speedboat 16 miles across the Great Salt Lake to Stansbury Island where they will make their way by foot to the Finish Line.[/size]

Reading about airlines retiring the 747, it would be awesome to have the Final Leg at an aircraft boneyard:

Have them search amongst the planes or something.  It totally fits with the show, but it would be a nice little tribute to the 747 too.

I would love to see a task at this site or even a future L.A. starting line location. The aircraft boneyard should definitely be featured as a tribute to modern traveling.

I like the idea of an aircraft boneyard. There's one at Mojave; it's some distance from LAX but not as far as the Santa Ynez drive. There's a photo of SpaceshipOne here: you can see the boneyard in the background.
