Rachel takes off the green jacket during her try at the Roadblock.  The shot of her pensively holding the Roadblock papers is with out the jacket.

If the Roadblock consists of answering questions at each Speed Bump board then shes got one down and one to go in this shot.

And is sweating out the completion of the second part here

Taking off her jacket makes sense; the weather in Alaska in the summer is confusing: a day will start off cool (especially if you are in a jet boat or climbing a glacier) but as the day goes on the sun warms the air up quite a bit.  So it is logical that Rachel could have started off the roadblock since it seems to come after the ice climb and it gets warmer the longer she is out in the sun.

But on the other hand there may be two roadblocks; one before the crab grab and one afterwards.  Rachel does not have her green jacket on during the crab grab; during the race to wherever and holding the "second" roadblock clue

If Chateau's times are correct, and he has been right on throughout TAR12, then we have some time to fill in between Rachel at the Crab Grab (9:00AM to 9:33AM) and the time she is seen running from the taxi (1:32PM - 2:40PM).  Time enough to travel to a new location and start the Roadblock (FOUR HOURS!)

Opps!  :groan:

I don't know why I started calling this a 'Speed Bump board'

Clearly, it is a U-Turn board

These two shots are essentially the same time.  Obviously the first one precedes the second one.  In the first shot they are driving to the West.

Puddin, That's the 1:32 to 2:40 pm time.

Does anybody have a fuller version of  a shot from this clip that shows the racers shadows on the ground?

There  is not enough to go by.  I can just try to guess that it is an early time, like 10 to 11 ish.  It does not look high enough to be the 1:30 to 2:40 kind of time.  That was the sun's highest point of the day (47.5 degrees).

I'm following this thread closely now! I need to place my bet with my friends by Saturday and if I pick the winner right I can win 50 dollars.

Thanks for the times Chateau

Something like this ..and will update if we get more clues.

Clues~

DON/NICOLAS, TK/RACHEL AND RON/CHRISTINA HAVE ONE FINAL LEG FOR THE ONE MILLION DOLLAR PRIZE

The Remaining Three Teams Compete in the Final Leg During the Season Finale

*The last three Teams set off on their final leg,
*as one Team that typically works well together experiences their first clash,
*and another Team misreads a vital clue that threatens their position
*In a final Amazing Race leg unlike any homestretch before it, the Racers are surprised to learn upon checkout that their next flight is their last for the entire race: the entire leg, all the way through the finish line, will play out in the city, the wilderness, by the ocean, on glaciers, and in the national parks of Alaska.
*One often combative Team comes together, while one usually cohesive Team clashes.
*One Team misreads a vital clue. Will this lead to the Team's downfall?
*After 10 cities, 4 continents, and nearly 30,000 miles, who will cross the finish line first and win the one million dollar prize?

Teams leaving the C.S.K. Memorial Hall pitstop in Taipei, Taiwan--all teams should be on the same flight

:bar:
   TASK
Thanks to CBS we now know that the Ice Climb is something all teams must do and thanks to Chateau we know it is early on:
teams travel via Jet Boat to 20-mile Glacier where they will ice-climb the glacier wall to a waiting helicopter
But we already knew that thanks Colby & peach (see first post of this thread for a summary)

Chateau d if: This shot was taken here (thanks to Peach) between 8:50 and 9:30 am (assumes July 29th).
Editing would make it seem that Ron & Chris are first to this task

  Followed by Rachel & TK

Ron & Nick

:bar:
Detour
Thanks to CBS we know this is one of the Detour choices :
Detour in which teams must descend into the hull of a crab boat and search among 500 crabs for one of twenty with a Race-colored target on its underbelly in order to receive their next clue

Chateau d if: This shot was taken between 9:00 and 9:33 am (assumes July 29th).

The Anchorage Docks, Slowhatch provides a link here
Chateau d if :This shot was taken here (thanks to Puddin and Slowhatch) between 10:00 and 10:09 am (assumes July 29th). [Ron & Nick]

:bar:
Fish cleaning, Roadblock #1? or Detour choice? Much debate about this..

It appears that Chris is holding the red roadblock clue and she is telling Ron "you can do this"

:bar:
Roadblock #2? Before the finish line? Puzzle? No matter we know this is a Roadblock

Nick

Rachel

Chris

Ron/ TK/ Don watch , Ron yells "the stress is ON!"
:bar:
Misc~
Chateau d if:   1:32 to 2:40 pm  ( Rachel & TK taxi )

Don comes down on Nick for mis-reading a clue

running running -------- from to where to where is the question

Maybe all the teams have to do the U-turn and the second part of the Detour becomes a Roadblock.  Don/Nick misread a clue, and maybe this is where that happens.

Clue pick-up at the docks--then off to a boat --or there are some fish factory places too... We need this place and the finale task locale guys-- and the actual pitstop (Girdwood/Alyeska -- golf course or near ski slopes-- (I like Colby's road) ) and we have it all, don't we ??!

  Oh yeah and Boingo's drum...   :'( :'( :'(

wouldn't they need film permits for filming in the Alyeska area?  is there a way to find out if there was a film permit for that area?

Chateau are you able to get a time frame from this shot:

Late.  As in the 1:30 to 2:40 kind of time.

It looks like high sun.  Not Burkina Faso kind of high but as high as it gets in Alaska.

Just a fair warning here:  I don't have enough time resolution to really say if any team finishes ahead of another.  It just looks like we have some shots with low sun and some with high sun.  But the time span of when the sun is up to within one half a degree of its maximum is 70 minutes long!   :groan:

And not having specific locations in GE, I can't use shadow direction in any of the shots (except for the boats by the glacier).  It's a sad day for shadows.
