whats that?

U F O?

But looking at that video clip for the first time, I have to adjust my scenario for Ep One.  In one shot we see TK and Rachel riding on their bicycle built for two across the moor and arrive at the clue box which I think must be for the roadblock.  It doesn't look like Aran since there are hills in the background which weren't seen on Aran.  So it looks like they may just return to the ferry after their over night on Inishmore.

*It's off to a flying start. The truly nasty couples fare none too well, and the benign, easy-to-root-for couples lead the pack.

*The rural Ireland locations are gorgeous. For a modern, industrialized nation undergoing an economic boom, much of the countryside remains rugged and pristine, with ocean-battered cliffs and green, green meadows and fields.

*There's room, too, for a cameo by Canada: the winners of tonight's leg win a free trip to Banff, Alta. after the Race, complete with a moonlight snowshoe walk on Lake Louise.

Based on tonight's opening hour, I suspect next summer's Emmy for best reality-TV series is in the bag.

It's about 14 miles away from the pitstop.

Good job Chateau!  :jumpy:

Is this the area?

Inish Bofin, located off the coast of Connemara out from Cleggan, has to be one of the most popular of all the islands for diving the Irish Atlantic coast. Stunning scenery above and below water makes for excellent memories and due to its location, its usually possible to escape any adverse winds.

Good job everyone!  :jumpy:
What a shame they only went to Inis-Mor just for a clue :knuckles:

Check back to reply 210, Peach found the exact shot used in ep one!  The TAR cameras shot from the same angle, just pan to the right and you would find Phil.  Even the lighting looks the same as if it the pix was lifted from the video!

Good work, now find us the mat for ep two; a little harder but I am sure you and Chateau will be able to find it before Sunday.

Good show, what.

The building in the background did turn out to be Citigroup Center; Phil was doing his standup atop the Bonaventure. A step down? TAR4 saw him a few blocks away, on top of the much-taller library tower.  ;D

The I-10/I-110 interchange that Boingo found showed up during the bunny hop; like he predicted, just stock footage. Also, a few of the teams (like the preachers) were taken by Sunset/Highland rather than Hollywood/Highland. Still haven't found the funny-looking garage.

Just some trivia I noticed while reviewing ep1: the racers are deliberately staged opposite their luggage, I guess to create an artificial "scramble" for the lens.
