Funny how we all found it differently. I googled "tuscany wood sculptures" and then changed it to just "tuscany sculptures" and found it.

From the looks of the map, Vinci is due North of Empoli.......6.93 miles to be exact.  Also, from the map, the River Arno runs past Empoli.  Could the screencap of Kynt/Vixen toward that bridge be on their drive to Empoli?  Based upon the bridge and river being on the right side of their car.

Kynt/Vyxsin may not go to Empoli--that is the site of the FF....

We don't know where the Pitstop is but I had been leaning towards the Coffeehouse in the Boboli Gardens--but that could be the site of the first cluebox instead.

There are some scenic drives in the area though.

Faltagnano, Vinci Tuscany - Birthplace of Leonardo da Vinci
eta: --the village of Vinci, the first village you reach after leaving Faltognano.

I'm thinking the first cluebox perhaps.  The Boboli Gardens, in my opinion, is too touristy of an area to have the pitstop.  too many people around to have Phil and cameras waiting for the teams.    I would figure that the pit stop, or faux pit stop if it is a TBC leg, to be at a more obscure out of the way place, e.g., a castle, winery, resort, etc.

We have a Fast Forward, really I can't see this being a TBC.. imagine that? Taking the FF then be told to keep racing.

These are from our picture source -- and this is why I think Boboli is later as in Pitstop. Our source had a similar picture for Dubrovnik  and the Rumsiskes mill ------

I'm still looking into Dr. Fabio Pitti and the tattoo place he owns. And I think they'll make them drive to the FF, Empoli is only a fair distance from Florence (or wherever they are now haha).

Search "sbandieratori" for photos/videos/etc. on flag-throwers; some background here. The uniforms match those of the official flag-throwers of Florence (click the media page here).

If we can get a lot of tourist shots of the Vinci ball then I may be able to get it situated wrt NorthSouthEastWest.

GE is too fuzzy at that location to see it.  But if I can place it in relation to the nearby roads then I will have sufficient orientation to get a time of day.

It's kind of a crude work-around, but there's a map of Vinci here: the "scultura lignea di M. Ceroli" is the sculpture we want. Comparing it to Google and Michelin street map, I'm guessing the cap viewpoint is towards Via Rossi and the southeast.

Strike that: if you can see the tree, that means the viewpoint is more towards the northeast.

Thanks guys, that will work just great.

I'll have the time this evening. Already I can tell you that it is in the 9 to noon range.

The trouble with Pano is that it runs on the honor system, and the geotagging can be accurate...or not. The museum and vitruvio are at the north end of town. Overhead shots here and a Via Rossi angle here.
