I really wanna watch the first episode tonight just to see what its really like. I dunno, I feel bad about that! I guess part of me wants to do it just because im a tomboy and think that as a kid I would've been able to survive on something like that.

I really think that there is "more" to it, then really a bunch of kids living alone in a town. I dunno like I was thinking there are adults just not on camera. Who knows.

Let's talk about tonight's show here!

I'll be here during the commercials and right after so we can snark on this together! :waves:

Now the Town Council have to split into groups (or districts).  Blue, yellow, green, and Red.

Anjay is Blue
Taylor is Yellow
Mike is Red
Laurel is Green.

Finally, a commercial.  It's been 37 mins without a commercial.  What does everyone think so far?

A Showdown!

Pumping water--filling bottles...

The trick?

The winners become the upper class with no assigned jobs and a salary of $1/day

Red==upperclass-- $1/day
Blue==Merchants $.5
Yellow==Cooks--$.25
Green==laborers--$.10

$$ can be spent in the saloon (root beer) or the grocery store--candy, books, general goodies

Heee...I probably should have known! I want to grab all the little ones and give them a cuddle and tuck them in! That 8 year old with the quivering chin really got me  *sniff*

And the teenage trouble makers?  :rules:

But so far I think I only know 5 or 6 names?

I'm actually enjoying this.  It'd be a lot better with more commercials, though.  I'm trying to write a review for the RFF home page, but the lack of commercials won't let me.

Now this show is watchable.  I can't believe everyone came into this show with completely negative feelings about it, and they never gave it a try.  They're missing out, this show looks like it'll succeed.

I really liked it. I don't think it was as bad as most reviews said it was going to be. I actually enjoyed no commericials haha! I wonder if that was just a mistake CBS made ???

I wish Michael would've gotten the gold star and not Sophia - and of course did you see the preview for next week? Honestly why did she care about the dishes if shes not the one that has to do them. Hmmm!

GP my 9 year old neice liked it, shes staying with us during fair week and I was hesitant to let her watch it but she really enjoyed it.

I liked it. I thought it was cute. It was much better than expected.

There I've said it...confession is good for the soul...lol.

I also want to add that I really liked that they gave the kids the chance to go home (not that they wouldn't allow it but it was more of their decision kwim), and the candy store cracked me up!!!

We are going to need some kid's input here!

Maybe banredbeans will let Carissa and Kelley  come tell us what they thought--if they watched?

The show looks okay to me. I'm sorry to see Jimmy leave during the first Town Council. I know he was the youngest member of the "town", he made it through a couple of days on his own. So I have to applaud that act of courage. If a child wanted to go home, they were allowed to do that instead of having to suck it up throughout the course of the adventure. I'm glad that they had that option.

The reward between the outhouses and television? I would have taken the outhouses as well. I think that the outhouses would have been more beneficial than the television, and I think that the kids thought that was the case as well.

Overall, a good show.
I thought that when we fought, I was to blame
Now I know you play a different game
I've seen you dance with danger; still wanting more
Add another number to the score

I can't wait to start hearing more critics reviews on this.  Pre-show, it was split 50-50 over whether this show was good or bad.  Now, with it premiered, I have a feeling I'll be reading some good news about it.

Also, can't wait to see the ratings for tonight.  Should be interesting.

I agree TheCinera I know I was allll confused when I saw the previews, wondering how anyone could come up with that. I mean adults yeah, but kids might have problems being away from their family (as we saw).

I'm really, really glad that they chose not to have evictions or eliminations but instead let the kids decide if they were ready to go home.

And I am ready to vote for Michael for Secretary of the UN--what a diplomat!

Overall: not the most exciting or action packed show I have ever seen--but they have me curious to see what happens next and I guess that is the sign of a good premiere.

But forget it when they cry--I'm mush! :lol:

Im surprised they didn't have some kind of animal to pull those wagons but I think the kids did ok doing it. And even those bratty older ones helped out the younger ones when it came to that!

I honestly kinda think that if those kids didn't want to do it, they wouldn't. Kwim? I liked the phone call thing and think that they will work even harder to try and get the gold star. As long as my neices Taylor stays on the coucil I know she will watch the show :lol3:
