WSU student selected to be on 'Big Brother'

Jessica Hughbanks of Haysville, a member of the Wichita Thunder's dance team, has been chosen to participate in the new season of CBS's reality TV show "Big Brother."

Hughbanks, a student at Wichita State University, will join 13 other contestants when "Big Brother 8" premieres at 7 p.m. Thursday.

Each week, one contestant is voted out of the group's house, which is outfitted with cameras and microphones recording them 24 hours a day. The last remaining contestant wins a grand prize.

Second Haysville native named to 'Big Brother'

Carol Journey, a 21-year-old who grew up in Haysville, has been chosen to be in the new season of CBS's reality TV show "Big Brother."

She had to forgo her first season as a Kansas City Chiefs cheerleader to do it, her father, state Sen. Phil Journey, said.

A junior in the University of Kansas business school, Carol Journey will join 13 other contestants, including Haysville native Jessica Hughbanks, when the show premiers at 7 p.m. Thursday.

Each week, one contestant is voted out of the group's house, which is outfitted with cameras and microphones recording them 24 hours a day. The last remaining contestant wins a prize.
