The Official Foreign Reality Show Thread
« on: May 10, 2007, 10:13:43 AM »
For those of us that like to download foreign reality shows, let's keep a master thread of what's out there and what's coming up.

Canada, Australia, Great Britain... any reality show programing in English...

So here's my contribution...
The BBC is currently airing the third season of Apprentice U.K.  All episodes that have aired are currently available on bittorrent.

As for shows that are coming up...
- This Dog Won't Hunt (A BBC show where overweight kids are forced to fend for themselves in the Australian outback.)
- Second season of Amazing Race Asia.

Through torrents.  Do you know what a torrent is?

Of course, I just didn't think foreign stuff could be found on US torrent sites.

That's how I get my Big Brother UK episodes.  I've seen the AU version on Torrent Download Sites recently.  I'm debating if I should watch it or not.  I have too much to do, so maybe not.

I haven't seen anything else, foreign reality TV-wise, but I'm sure it's out there.

I was a HUGE fan of "The Mole."  (Not the celebrity version, though.)

There are three seasons of the Australian version of the Mole available on bittorrent.  I've downloaded the first two seasons, and I'm stuck at about 98.6 percent of the third season waiting for another seeder.

It's not bad.  The music is different, which makes a definite difference for the worse.  The challenges in the first episode are basically a carbon copy of the American version.  Nonetheless, for fans of The Mole, this is well worth the download.

I'm still looking for the two seasons of Survivor UK... so far no luck.

I downloaded the first season of The Mole UK and I noticed a ton of similarities between the games in the US and the UK version.  It turned me off from the show, so I decided not to watch the rest.

I've now watched the second episode of the Mole Australia (season 1).  I'm pleased to say that the show was very different from its American counterpart.  It was a good episode.

The first season of Survivor UK has just been posted on bittorrent.  I'm downloading it now, but it's a slow download.  Only 1 seed and about 30 leechers as of now.

Britain's got Talent starts this Saturday night, Cowell fans!

Can you pm me a link for Survivor UK, been looking for ages?

Cheers

James

You'll see the torrent listed at www.demonoid.com

Good luck!

Hell's Kitchen UK has also been posted recently to bittorrent.

BballKates, are you familiar with hot Bittorrent works?  That's how you get 99% of these shows.

I use torrents all the time, is that a separate site? One you might have to register for?

Just search for these shows on a site like www.scrapetorrent.com, www.isohunt.com or www.mininova.org.

FYI...

I've been watching Britain's Got Talent, and I enjoy it MUCH more than the American version.  The contestants just seem so much more real.  They don't feel like they've been coached their by their mothers to become the next Brittany Spears.

And the best part... Simon Cowell is a judge.

Here is the clip that got me hooked:

Here's a clip that is 1 part disturbing and 1 part inspirational:

Reminds me of Billy Elliot.

Piers is pretty much the same.

The first 5 episodes are all available via bittorrent.  (search for "Britain's got talent" at www.mininova.org).

I need to check this out, but then again, I have not even had time to download the BBUK either, so not sure if I'll get to it. I wish these shows would be shown on some cable channel.

Now that I've seen the first five episodes, I am totally enjoying Britain's Got Talent - and this is coming from someone who doesn't enjoy America's Got Talent.  I highly recommend this show.

Kilarney, I'll look for this to download and see how it goes. I love the American format, but hate Jerry Springer. Who are the judges and presenter for BGT? I thought I heard Niles and Simon or judges, correct?

Britain's Got Talent ended on Sunday night.  There were 10 episodes - so it's not a huge download.  I HIGHLY recommend this show - even if you don't like the American version.  It was the best show I've seen in a long time.

I also saw a British version of Temptation Island posted a couple of days ago.  The whole series was posted on bittorrent.  It's got Hebrew subtitles, but they aren't too distracting.
