 B:) B:) B:)
they're just rumours anyways, I guess we'll know 100% sure when they start filming the next season (which could possibly be soon??) I like everybody else hope for a normal season, I'm just saying that IF there has to be a celebrity edition seeing Rosie on it would be fun  :jam:

Michael, think hard about this:

If you were World Race Productions and had seen smart forums destroy the secrecy (except for the finish) of your last several Amazing Races, would you be trying to over-publicize the start of the next one (presumably without any publicly known and visibileTAR All-Stars) or would you keep it real quiet and try to film the race with minimal outside recognition?

To me, the answer to that question is a no-brainer.

That would be the logical answer, yes, but if the rumors are true I don't know wtf CBS/WRP or whoever runs things was thinking. If normal seasons get spoiled, imagine how spoiled a celebrity season will be.

I like the way this guy thinks!

To those fans waiting for the return of Race in midseason, it may be back sooner than you think. For those placing bets, Viva Laughlin could very well be the first cancellation of the season.

I'm hoping for a November start, that would be awesome :D

I think the best time to watch TV is from November-Feb when it's freezing outside and it gets dark at like 6.

November11 would have to be the latest starting date if it would be on a sunday in november due to the grammys in febuary10 to get 13 weeks in.

KOGS, you make the assumption that TAR has to run consecutive weeks. There is no edict that that says so.

besides the one time with the family edition and seasons6 where they had the recap instead of an episode when did they ever skip a week, and especally near the end of the season???

Kogs, I don't know the answer to the "near the end of the season" question. The easy answer to the unqualified question is AR1, where the second episode was due to air on 9/12/01 and got preempted by national events of grave importance.

However, my point was not historic, it was one of whether the Amazing Race is commanded by edict similar to the Edict of Nantes or the Edict of Worms to run in consecutive weeks. I have never heard of such an edict issed by CBS. It has just been their practice to do so and such practices can be changed merely by doing so.

Fake? No way! :lol3:

A bunch of grown people parading around in pirate costumes, minding their Captain, and digging under plastic bones for buried treasure? What is fake about that!?  :rotf:  :rotf:

But it is fantastically delicious snarking fodder and also--we now have some real old-fashioned spoilers to play with so we can all keep in practice until the TAR 12 spoilers begin to arrive!

So come keep us company--you know we rely on you for who was wearing what when--and a bunch of the new spoilers are based exactly on that! So we need you!

Maybe it will grow on us....

A big AMEN to that!

At least there is hope now that the rumours of a celebrity edition may just be POGO induced hysteria!

Peach

God, I hope you are right.

And to pass the time, I have been watching Amazing Race Asia, which I skipped when it came out.  But, I started watching it and damn its actuallly a really, really good season of AR (minus Phil, which is really its only big minus).

And talk about some beautiful and fun stunts.  They got to do more in the first 7 episodes then the last two seasons did put together it seems.

Hopefully filming will begin soon, so we can all resort back to normal (at least here).

I'm hoping to get TAR Asia soon and am really looking forward to it--sounds like it had some of the charm and energy of the early years of our TAR.

But I may have to make a thread to talk about it on--who else has seen it?? Can't watch it all by myself!

I saw Amazing Race Asia from episode 4 to the finish. It was just like the early days of regular Amazing Race. Lot's of fun, lots of rivalry against the "villain" team. In addition to the fact that it was first-class Amazing racing, I had some personal interests in watching. My brother-in-law grew up in (and his parents still live in) Dunedin New Zealand, so when they fly there I was really focused. The same with the Devonport episode, where my sister and brother-in-law have lived for 21 years. Although I have been to New Zealand I have never visited Devonport, so that episode had consdeirable special appeal.

I can highly recommend Amazing Race Asia. I watched it on YouTube when it was first on there, but I understand that it probably isn't available there any longer. If we can find a current source, I will be happy to watch it again weekly so we can have something to comment on.
