I didn't even attempt to get anything right myself here, and would've been completely wrong also.  It's just great to see Chateau back to business.  Thanks!  Also, I'm glad that I can finally come here on a more regular basis, as I'm on a new and faster PC that'll allow me to see everything more effectively without much trouble (thanks to the old system).

What the Hell with Cha3's taxi fee?

Cha3
Airport -> Tsim Sha Tsui (everybody need to)
Tsim Sha Tsui -> Kai Tak
Tunnel Fee for Crossing Harbour

Everyone else
Airport -> Tsim Sha Tsui (everybody need to)
Tsim Sha Tsui -> Cheung Sha Wan
Cheung Sha Wan -> Star Ferry (Tsim Sha Tsui)
4 person x Star Ferry
Central Star Ferry Pier -> old police quarter (the one after Star Ferry)

Except other Taxi Driver seems helping the teams (some goes to Laundary shop with the teams)
The taxi fee may be discounted or even not taking money.

Well they had the taxi find to the airport in the morning.  They had the taxi to the first route marker, then the taxi to the Fast Forward and then the Ferry.  In some cities 88.00 doesn't go far with cabs.  This of course assumes they don't spend anything on food,or water.  Which we do see them with beverages in one cab so they must have gotten something.  And Lynn & Alex in season 7's commentary say that water is a huge expense, for each leg to stay hydrated.

I was disappointed to see the teams ONLY use taxis--I really thought this would be a place to be a little challenged and to use the MTR (?) and the Octopus card--it would have been much more entertaining had the teams been told to "make your way to..." using public transportation--but NOT taxis.

The KL taxis I understand; the racers took off past midnight when the trains stop running. But I agree they should have tried the MTR. Fwiw, the fare to the dry cleaners (D/O car) was 261 HK- about 33 USD.

Just for reference, the same company, Bruce Law Stunt Unlimited, also prepared the Kung Fu task on Tonkin street. They might have arranged the door task in Kennedy town as well, but I can't find any caps to prove it.

I'm still puzzling about the timeline for this episode.  What happened to Dec. 11th? Thanks to Izad, we know the teams were at the Batu Caves on Dec 10.

Based on all of our info, we had the teams scheduled to arrive in HK the AM of Dec 11. We believed that the pitstop was 12 hours.

But Mr Cheng assures us that the date was 12/12 even though the camera date said 12/11.

Now someone at TWOP suggested that perhaps this was a 36 hour pitstop as the flight that E/D went on doesn't go on Mondays--therefore leaving on the 12th (Tuesday) made perfect sense.

But now we have Mirna going on in the Innertube videos about staying up all night at the Pitstop and being so tired which suggests only a 12 hour Pitstop.

So where is Dec 11th?

Ideas, anyone?

edited to add:
Maybe they stayed up all night talking on the second night of a 36 hour Pitstop in KL--that's the only thing that can make this all fit, IMO.

I don't know when TAR aired in Kuala Lumpur but it was 9 am on the 11th there when we saw it.

OOHH!

 :hearts:  :hearts:

I have worried about that day forever!

So for us it was the 11th, but KL time it was the 12th??

And racer time??

When do they lose/gain a day coming home??

HOW could I forget the International Date Line? (which way are we going again?? ???)

I was trying to pin down the timing of Mirna's "Yield Queens" comment.  We would have seen that on December 3rd.

Is there an insider video that reveals when the teams got to see TAR10?

It looks like we watched the finale as the racers lounged around in a 36 hour pit stop in KL.  Maybe KL television showed it that evening in KL.  That would have been about 32 hours into their 36-hour pit stop.

You know what?

I just realized that up until December 3rd (Maputo) on their race, only the BQs knew that Uchenna & Joyce where the only All Star team with a previous win.  Because up until that date it was still possible that the BQs had won TAR10.

But it seems like everybody already knew  ??? that they didn't win TAR10.

The teams got to see the episode where the BQ's yielded Bama during their KL pitstop.

Here is the video.

Maybe CBS provided the teams with the episode or something for entertainment if it was a 36 hour penalty!

Chateau, I have had confirmation that  they were showing the finale of TAR10 on the night of Dec 11th 2006  in Malaysia (it aired the night of Dec 10th 2006 in the States , which was the morning of Dec 11th  in Malaysia). They apparently get the delayed telecast at night about 12 hours later.

So since the teams probably left about 2AM-ish, guess Ch/M weren't really up ALL night partying!

So we were right in thinking that there was a 36 hour Pitstop in KL all along. Thank goodness we "found" the 11th again!

Now how will we compensate for the dateline in our calculations as the teams come home?
