According to the Fox website, it's actually starting on June 4th...

Isn't it only the 3rd season though? First one had Ralph, Jessica, Michael, then the second one had Heather, and the other girl that just hit on Gordon Ramsay all the time!

First, yes, I believe this is the 3rd season.

I loved tonight, except there was another red team member that I wish had gone too but then again we do have next week don't we!  :yess:

Man... the Red Team was just brutal to the short order cook.  I really felt bad for her.

The cast this season is definitely more interesting than last season.

We were yelling let Julia make the damn egg already  (:;) :meow:! I think Tiffany treated her like crap because she, Julia, was just a short order cook and am glad she is gone although Joanna? was a bossy biatch too.  :meow:
Aaron cracks us up..we know he isn't in it for the long run but is the comic relief

I was appalled at their treatment of Julia! Sheesh, of course she could cook an egg, talk about snobville!

Two hours next week?!  I can handle that ! Love the fast pace..no boring bored rooms like the Apprentice! Everything is snap snap.  :pirate3
So a question from a newbie of the show..I assume the patrons are on some sort of list, like guinea pigs? and don't get charged for their meals?

Apparently the show advertises for them. I knew they couldn't be just off the street looking for a good meal because your chances of actually eating anything is slim and getting a full dinner rarely happens until they are down to 3 people on a team if you are that lucky. (Why they can't get out a full meal with more cooks is something I can't explain!)  ???

"WANTED: Restaurant patrons with sophisticated palates that want to be a part of the hit FOX show Hell's Kitchen 2. Come and be a critic in our new restaurant and get paid!

Great! Glad you like it... Gordon Ramsay is definitely one of our finest exports!!

I hope to hear some clips of him berating the contestants Simon Cowell style on the podcast this week!

How about "Wipe your ****ing nose before you cover the chicken with snot! We don't serve chicken with snot!!"

If you like, when it comes on UK TV I'll send you some uncensored clips (we get to hear Gordon's lovely language completely unbleeped!)

Okay, will do... unfortunately I don't know when it'll come on over here, it's usually around the time it's ending on Fox, so you might have lost interest by then, but I'll give it a go!

I am wondering that myself! He cries, he passes out, in one of the previews it looks like he faints and hits his head on the way down. He laid in bed the entire day and didn't contribute a single thing for the service. Go figger! ???

I didn't think this week's episode was as entertaining as last week's... hope Rob doesn't give up on it, it's nice to hear some stuff about a show I actually watch on the podcast!

It was still good, just not as many comedy moments!

Chef Ramsey is reason enough to watch this show. I think a female is going to win personally but there is still a lot of show to go.

asian cowboy is the best thing to hit pre big brother reality tv.

other than chef ramsey and his self promotion (which makes the show what it is)

Shes dead meat if the boys don't win TL but hinkies tell me Bonnies gone tonight or maybe Jen for slicing off Gordon's weiner with the pizza cutter ?

I did not know Jen was from my area! Our local FOX gave her a shoutout

She IS dead meat. Sliced, diced and pulverized.  :snicker:

I think Jen and Rock are going to be the finalists. No one else stands out as well as they do. Gordon was tough on Rock tonight but I think he does it to see if the person is a quitter and he didn't. He did the dirty work even though he was furious.

Rock has a serious anger problem.  I don't see any way that the show could award him the prize of his own restaurant.  Rock has a lot of growing up to do before he could manage other people.  I'm especially appalled at some of the things he says to women, not to mention how he has treated some of them.

I think Bonnie makes too many mistakes...she's not ready for this...she's a nanny that makes dinner for her family...she doesn't even clean the house she announced!!

Jen is the best suited for whats left anyways!! She's great at taking Charge...rock has to learn how to take orders..should be itneresting, next weeks episode shows them running the kitchen...hmmm....

I'm beginning to think that Bonnie and Jen might be the final two. I didn't think Bonnie would stay but Ramsey has kept her when I thought for sure she was a goner. He must see something in her that we aren't seeing.  ???

I'm so happy that Julia will have a chance to learn, when she was tested with running the kitchen she shined, both with the red team and the black team.

Rock probably is the strongest of the three left for skills, but whether he can win, I just don't know. He does have an anger problem. I think Ramsey puts them to the test by making them do the hard crap when they lose. Last year Heather was on the losing side many many times but she sucked it up and did whatever had to be done, proving she could be the best finalist. Rock has lost it, particularly when he had to go collect the garbage from the photo shoot  but he did do it. It was demeaning but that's why I think Ramsey picked him for the job... it was a test.

CeeJay, you are right about Bonnie, she is very emotional and that's when she loses it.

STOP that!  :james:

Do you think Jen can win? The only thing that really bothers me is she put the spaghetti in the trash then got it out to reuse.  :groan: I wonder if she's done that before or was it pressure.

It was. She thought they had too much so she threw it away, then found out they needed it so she went back and got and started washing it at the sink. Julia told her 'What are you doing? No.. No, we can't use that!' UGH, I'd hate to eat in a place that did that!!

omg so its bonnie and rock...i liked the challenge and what bonnie said...she thought that she did the spaghetti and didn't vote for it!! lol

So obviously if you win challenges that doesn't mean you are safe...we saw that 2 weeks in a row!

Now for the final challenge...lets see what happens!!

What happens is the losing team (or now just the last two people, Bonnie and Rock) have to do some boring/nasty job while the winner of the challenge gets a treat of some sort. Jen got a thousand dollar check to spend. That was fun!

I can't see Bonnie winning but Gordon sees something in her so we'll find out next week if she can pull it off. (My vote is Rock!)  :yess:

I snuck in to watch the last 2 episodes because there wasn't anything else worth watching on Monday nights. Gordon Ramsay is not by any means the Gordon-Zilla that is his reputation. He really does have an instructional method behind his actions. That being said, the contestants for Hell's Kitchen 3 are way behind the contestants in Top Chef 3 in their culinary skills entering the competition and leaving it. The final 3 in HK3 if they qualified for TC3 would not have lasted through the 4th week. It is clear to me that Gordon Ramsay takes great pride, as he should, in training relatively inexperienced chefs to find the one who can be the leader of his target restaurant's kitchen.

I like Bonnie's chances over Rock. Rock has much better culinary skills than she does, but she is much more of a "ROCK" in the kitchen. I think that will be decisive next week.

doh!! so did i!!! I really like bonnie...better than rock!! I Think it would be an easier transition for her to take the job...i believe she is single..they only  brought her parents to the show...rock's wife and kids came....

for her to move...she has nothing holding her back...Rock will have to uproot his kids and wife.

I think for Vegas her ideas will be better than Rock's southern style...Come on the guy said he wanted his waiters to wear JEANS!!

Bonnie seems to be more on track...hope Julia doesn't mess her up!!  she's way too jealous right now.

I have several remarks on last night's competition. The line of the night went to Jean-Philippe the Maitre D' who responded to Rock's nomination of jeans with "I don't really see jeans working out in any restaurant except a saloon" in a really snooty tone(as such a nomination deserved).

Rock gets the "REALLY" award of the night for the statement "Everything I do is strategy" in a positive way and then later he accuses Bonnie of "Everything she does is strategy" in a negative way. You can't have it both ways, Rock.

The judging of the surprise Las Vegas competition was a complete farce. They needed only one judge to decide it, the pair of General Manger and Executive chef from Green Valley Resort. Everything else was window dressing. Let me explain. The last 2 year's winners were strategically positioned in the voting order as penultimate and 3rd from last to assure that they could balance any prior votes to a 3-3 result unless it was already 4-0. I'll bet Ramsay had someone in positions 2, 3, or 4 who was willing to cast a balancing vote (the 2nd judge did) to avoid a 4-0 outcome. That guaranteed that the pair at the end would decide it, which after all was appropriate. So, why not eliminate all the B.S. and just let them do so. I guess that would have prevented the public from seeing the second coming of Robin Leach, which I have to admit was quite a thrill.

Last, we come to the decisions on which of the eliminated contestants to pick for the final teams. I will wager that the teams would have come out the same whether Rock picked first or Bonnie did. I think Bonnie made a major error in selecting Julia when she did not have to. Julia is highly risky. The question is whether that is all a put-on instructed by Ramsay as part of the deal for Culinary school or whether it is real. If it's real, the women's team is in for dissention and deep trouble. I would have picked Josh over Julia as the safe choice. The fact is that none of those contestants after Jen or Brad was worth much anyway, so for the last 2 picks try to stay out of trouble. As a result of the teams, I now think Rock will win.

Josh didn't have a single good night in the kitchen if you ask me. Though Julia may be more inexperienced she proved she could get things done when it was necessary and won challenges. I don't care if he went to school or not.

It was your typical "misdirect" show.

Bonnie starts by not addressing an issue raised by Melissa on what the recipes and quantities of ingredients are. She just says that it will all come out all right. Remember these words! Rock contrasts by giving his recipes to his team hours before the competition begins so they can make sure everything is going to be available.

Rock and Bonnie before the opening of Hell's Kitchen for the final night of competition are micromanaging their staff. I bet Ramsay was really proud watching them, as they were modeling their behavior on him.

Each finalist is asked to present an appetizer, main course and dessert for review by Ramsay.
Bonnie chooses a Chevre Salad, Egg Fettucine with Prawns, and Chocolate Truffles.
Rock chooses a Chicken ap, RibEye steak with rice and vegetables, and Vanilla Milkshake with cookies.
Ramsay thinks the chocolate truffles are not quite enough portion. He tells Rock that garlic on the rice is off(I could not figure out too much or too little) and the cookies are not right.
Ramsay summarizes Bonnie's menu as elegant and vibrant. He summarizes Rock's menu as robust.
For room decor, Ramsay calls Bonnie's choices sophisticated, classy, elegant, and clean with panache.
Rock's room decor is rated elegant, sumptuous and smart.

Bonnie as the service beings states for the camera that "Jen and Julia are not my friends tonight. They must obey me." she tells her staff that "I want to hear you respond with Yes, chef all night long."
As appetizers are cooking, Josh is screwing up everything, particularly crabcakes. After Ramsay counsels him, Rock does not give Josh a second chance to get things back in order. He switches Vinnie and Josh, with Josh going to a warming station. Vinnie saves the day on aps for Rock.
Bonnie is winning the battle of on-time quality appetizers. However, as they go into main courses Bonnie runs out of fettucine and must switch to spaghetti as a substitute. Later, she also runs out of prawns. Her signature dish is a shambles due to her lack of translation of her menu into ingredients. She is paying the price for just winging it.

Toward the end of the evening, Bonnie gave Julia an order of the "Do this now" type that Julia refuses to comply with. Bonnie tried to get control of this as Ramsay looked on, but Julia balked again. The task was not important and Bonnie probably should not have overrated its criticality.

After the restaurant officially closes, Ramsay asks both what they would have done differently. Rock says picked Jen first and not picked Josh at all. Bonnie would have double-checked portion sizes(but not done an inventory of ingredients after deteremining the amount of ingredients she expected to need). Ramsay says both demonstrated a lot of leadership(his style), meaning barking at the staff. He tells Bonnie she demonstrated a level of assertiveness. He tells Rock that he was rock solid. He said that he needed time to review the feedback from customers before he could make a decision.

It is time for the decision. In a cheesy FOX move, there is much delay before it is revealed. Rock wins. I felt he had earned it because he ran a good kitchen whereas Bonnie made some fundamental planning errors. The problems I expected from Julia did not really materialize. The problems I expected from Josh did, but Rock overcame them. Rock won a $250,000 annual salary as head chef at the Green Valley Ranch.

Love your posts apskip. I've been gone for a week but I did get to watch Hell's Kitchen. Several things were giveaways for me. Bonnie winning the Las Vegas seemed to me to be a runner-up reward, and misdirection for the final winner.

When Bonnie told the women that they must obey her I knew that wouldn't go well. Women (sorry to say this) do not like being told what to do by another woman, they work better when you smooze with them and feel important and part of a team. Rock won that hands-down.

I thought Bonnie telling Julia to do a menial task that wasn't necessary was to put her in her place as a Waffle House cook. It was not important and Bonnie paid the price for that decision as well.

I think Rock showed that he really did deserve to win and even Bonnie said the same thing.
