After the guys' boring first impression last week, they REALLY needed to step it up this week and demonstrate their true talents. Overall, they were definitely better this week, but not one of them came even a tad bit close to Lakisha's and Melinda's great performances. IMO, the gals are still way ahead, and this is still their race.
However, at least the guys did pick better songs and showed a little personality! Most of them made themselves stand out. Hopefully, they will up their act even more next week. They must, or the next AI will not be a guy!
So who's going home? I think for sure Sanjay will. He just isn't "with it". Even before one of the judges mentioned it, I thought the same...it seemed like a high school talent show performance. Well, to put it bluntly, I was thinking grade school! :-\ He's a real sweetie, but not good enough for AI. Maybe he should come back in a few years and try again...
Brandon will probably be the other guy leaving. He should've "showed what he's got" BOTH weeks and come out stronger. He has a beautiful voice, but as Simon Says: "This is a singing competition...must come out here and do like 4 or 5 of the girls did last week, and make a WOW impact!" Brandon did not WOW 'em. Yeah, I know..it was 'dedication week' ...but he could've made it a WoWser song.
I don't think Nick or AJ will leave next. AJ was a stand-out. Nick, altho a little pitchy and needs to relax, his voice is awesome. I love his bluesy, smoky voice. I hope he and AJ stay!
