Throughout the series, supermodel Tyra Banks, art director of photo shoots Jay Manuel, and runway guru J. Alexander mentor the participants.

Banks leads the panel of "America's Next Top Model" judges, comprised of leading fashion industry experts, including supermodel Twiggy, photographer Nigel Barker and runway expert J. Alexander, who closely evaluate the progress of the models to narrow the field each week.  In addition, special guest judges appear to critique within his or her area of expertise.

The winner of The CW's "America's Next Top Model" will be managed by Elite Model Management.  She also receives a $100,000 contract with cosmetics giant CoverGirl.  Finally, the winner will appear on the cover and six-page fashion spread in Seventeen magazine.

"America's Next Top Model" is produced by 10 by 10 Entertainment, in association with Bankable Productions. Tyra Banks is the creator and executive producer along with Ken Mok ("Making the Band") and Anthony Dominici ("The Amazing Race").

i've always loved this show!!! one thing that always plagues in my mind is why they bother with the plus sized models?? I  mean no offense to anyone out there...but they take ONE plus size and she is always a hyper girl who looses her love quickly and gets voted off because all the clients would rather a toothpick model.  Its almost like a slot that could have been filled.

sorry if i offended anyone i have no intensions...its just my opinion.

I haven't finished watching the first episode, but I am disappointed like Tyra in that Kathleen's gone already. She could have been like Furonda if only she didn't mess up badly. She's supposed to be the kooky, funny gal but well...

I'm really glad that Jaslene was the first called-out. She's my pick for the win!  ;D

Natasha drives me BONKERS!!!!!!!Keep your mouth shut and just work with everyone!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! and renee the mom....both need to get the boot..how funny was kathleen though when she admitted that she didn't understand pro fur!!! hahaha..."well if they are already dead then I don't mind fur" I thought twiggy was going to loose it worse on her!!

I like Jael and Sarah!! I don't care what anyone says...Sarah has a great chance because she knows the industry and Jael is so edgy its about time (Since Nahiema) they have good edge!

CeeJay you and I sure think alike.  I love Jael,  and that Renee needs to go home.  So does the mail order bride.  I cant remember her name.  I have always loved this show.  I hope one of the Plus size girls stays around for awhile.  It is so sad when a size 10 and 12 is known as Plus Size.

i know....a couple months ago i was a 10....so am i plus size at a 7??? lol

mail order is Natasha...

So last night...what can i say...

Brittnay...OMG YOU ARE SO ANNOYING Stop crying and start working it on and off the sets!!! her hair looks great...(weave...which sends her into more tears....white girl can't do weave?? not to be offensive to anyone)

Natasha...great sport with the new hair (shorter and dark!!) she looks wicked...too bad she always looks like she's squinting!!

Renee....I want to kick her in the back down a flight of stairs...I don't' care how good looking she is..her pics are not that great...and she is so rude and fake to everyone!! (Can't wait to see what makes her crack next week)

Sarah...wasn't much about her last night...the only hair change was that its darker...it suits her though...she finally nailed a photo

The girls I always forget about .... Dionne, Felicia, Diana <--plus size who almost went packing last night...her photos are lifeless and she doesn't work her curves AT ALL

Whitney...waiting for the spark to fade...understands her body...face needs work

Jaslene....i don't care for her normal or ms Latina...good pics....just annoying otherwise...needs to get over herself

Jael...I'm so rooting for her!! poor girl her good friend dies of an overdose...she sits for 8 hours having a weave put in to be taken out right away...her hair rocks!! she looks great....she has a reason to cry unlike Brittany

and finally CASSANDRA (voted out) ... think about it this way...she no longer has a wig sewed into her hair...she got a free weave...i didn't think she was that pretty!!! but great personality..its OK they have Whitney as they pastor now lol

I have become hooked on this show. MTV and VH1 have shown some previous cycles over the past few weeks. It was nice to watch a whole cycle in one day. It is amazing to see how the girls change especially after the makeover.

I really am a reality show junkie.  :hearts: :jumpy:

Diana - Plus Size Model Voted out last night.

OK!! You either love most of these girls or hate them!

Renee....at times I want to strangle her but when she's in front of the judges or on set in front of the camera I love her (But not totally crazy which personality is she??)  She takes amazing photos (now nto before)

She was pretty nasty to Whitney and Diana last night with comments like Plus Size Models will never be on the cover of Vogue.  Although I partially think she has a point (not that I think its totally right) she shouldn't say that to cut down her competition..its just rude!!

This is the time in the show when the Plus Sized models start to fizzle out...

Sara  is now starting to bug me with her pixie like attitude.

She shouldn't have won the challenge because Dionne and Renee picked out her outfit...those girls seemed to be so effected by the loss that they ahd a bad attitude watching Sara during the shoot (who won a view at all the shots and a chance to reshoot the shoot)

Natasha is the cutest thing and with her attitude she won over many of the girls despite the gossip about her husband twice her age.  So what she was a mailorder bride she's been with the man for a couple years, have a fantastic life baby and is truly happy with him.  Isn't something I would ever do but she did it.  She's working her Russian butt off and its paying off!! The only thing that seems to effect her was the comments about how she doesn't wear a ring and how Whitney thinks its gross the marriage...

Anyways that was last night in a nut shell...next week looks good...the channel cut off the entire preview...looks like Jael gets tossed into the pool at a party after she was told not to stand where she was standing...bet u its a photo shoot challenge to see who gets best action shot on a one shot only!!

Wow, Sara is one ungrateful person. She never acknowledged (that we saw) that she had help picking her clothes. She probably won't last. I agree with the pixie comment, which probably will hurt her in the long run because it is limiting. It was a no brainer to choose the color for her.  :snicker: too bad the girls didn't pick an uncomplimentary or blah color.

I just love Natasha. She is such a positive person and the judges see it too. I love Brittany and Jael, both stand out although I think Brittany has the better look.

Wasn't Jael's shoot a hoot? I was surprised that she didn't have a really good photo.

its the curse of the Plus Size model...they loose their drive because they are too intimidated and self conscious of the skinnier women ....

they never last past like week 6

It is amazing that these beautiful woman are so insecure. I haven't seen enough of the seasons to realize that the plus-size models leave so soon but what you say makes sense. OTOH, those with huge egos don't seem to win either.
