One More Cast on '24'

Jamison Jones lands recurring part on FOX series
December 29, 2006

The sixth season of "24" has added yet another actor to its already sprawling cast, with Jamison Jones taking a recurring role on the show.

Jones has signed on to play the head of President Wayne Palmer's (DB Woodside) Secret Service detail, according to The Hollywood Reporter. The show is scheduled to return to FOX on Sunday, Jan. 14 with a two-night premiere spanning four hours.

The casting is actually a return trip to "24" for Jones; he had a small role as a deputy in two episodes of the show's second season. His other credits include guest spots on "Crossing Jordan," "NCIS" and "Alias" and the feature film "He Was a Quiet Man," which is due for release sometime next year.

Season six of "24" will pick up 20 months after we last saw Jack Bauer (Kiefer Sutherland), who was on a slow boat to China after being apprehended by operatives from that country. The country, now under the leadership of Wayne Palmer, suffers a series of terrorist attacks.

Among those logging time on the show this season will be Regina King ("Ray"), James Cromwell ("L.A. Confidential"), Peter MacNicol ("Numb3rs"), Powers Boothe ("Deadwood"), Kal Penn ("Harold & Kumar Go to White Castle") and Rick Schroder ("NYPD Blue"). Gregory Itzin, Jean Smart, Mary Lynn Rajskub, Roger Cross, James Morrison, Jayne Atkinson, Eric Balfour and Carlo Rota will reprise their roles from past seasons.

Special "24" Podcast for Itunes/Ipod Subscribers
« Reply #3 on: January 03, 2007, 03:16:20 PM »
I wanted to tell you that there is a 24 podcast you can subscribe to for free.  It is called "The 24 Guy Joe Filip" (type in the search engine to find).  He has a special video to watch...it looks like outtakes from season 5.  It's about 45 minutes long.  Actually, you don't need an Ipod to watch it...just download Itunes on your 'puter and then go to the music store and click on podcasts (left side are choices).

Enjoy :dancer:

Vuday thought I should post this info in here even though it has to do with season 5 so here goes:

Just to tell all of you "24" fans, the first four episodes of Season 6 have been leaked onto the internet, and if you can't wait any longer to see the show, you can get them through torrents.  I've never seen the show, but I have seen the torrents around the web.  If you want to know what websites you can go to get them, just PM me and I'll tell you.

Interesting though,, how do these people get their hands on this stuff before its aired? Makes you wonder who can be trusted, lol.  Good help is hard to find :).

Wow, four hours of nonstop action and adrenalin rushes!  Great season opener, EXCEPT that Curtis Manning, one of my favorites, was killed at the end of  the 4th hour, or so it was implied.

In this week's show, only Chloe mentioned Curtis getting killed.  Maybe I'm in denial since no one else, not even Jack, mentioned Curtis.  I'm hoping that he survived somehow, and is in the hospital.  The nuclear explosion is the main focus. Plus other stuff.  Well anyway, when Jack shot Curtis, I just sat in shock and bawled!!  :'(  I understand why Jack had to shoot him, but it totally caught me off guard.  Was the least thing I expected in the Season opener.
Only two other times, did I bawl when someone died in 24:  Day 1 when Jack's wife Teri was killed and Day 3 (i think)...when Mason died.  :'(  :'(

OMG, last weeks show was incredible.  When it showed the bad guy from last season (can't think of his name) behind the terrorist activities as being JACKS BROTHER!!  I could not BELIEVE it :o  :o

And THEN having Rena Sofer on the show as his wife.  How they gave a hint of some romance years and years ago with her....how will that come into play and what about Andrea.  I loved Rena Sofer when she was on General Hospital a long time ago.  Also Kim, will she come back?

Can't wait til this week and see Jack kick some butt!   :knuckles: :jumpy: :woohoo:

I can't wait either. Tomorrow night I think we see Jack's father. (Did Jack dispose of his yucky, bald-headed brother by electocuting him with the lamp cord after torturing him?)  :box:

If I have one wish in this world, it is that Kim has moved to Siberia or perhaps the middle of the Sahara desert where there is no communication possible except once in every 10 years when a satellite passes over that will allow a 10 second call. :yess:

Audrey? I hope she is escorting Kim on her journey.

 you're funny, TL!  So you don't like Kim or Audrey.  hmmmm...   Care to say why?
They aren't my favs, but I like 'em...Kim more than Audrey.  I read (in tv guide  ???) that Audrey will be back, but don't know when.  She's in The Nine, so will probably depend if that show continues.  I like her in 24 better than The Nine.

One thing I didn't like about Audrey in 24 was her phony "passionate" kisses.  Seemed way too strained & fake.

Jack's evil Bro is the lowest snake ever, and I hope Jack wastes him! Hope his dad is NOT a bad guy and he and Jack work together.  Oh, and maybe Jack and his ex Romance w/ his bro's wife will rekindle?  Just hope she's on the right side, NOT a mole.

I miss Curtis Manning!!  Hope he's alive, but if not, then his character was obviously no longer needed.

How about that crazy radical Tom in the White House throwing his weight around?  I'm wondering if he's really a mole.

3 eps ago, I was speculating that Tom might be a mole, & now relieved he isn't.  However he was willing to compromise his position to threaten the President's stand against terrorism, by going along with moles who wanted the Pres out by definitive action.   So Tom was purdy dang close to becoming part of a molish act!  He backed out though.  Although that means trouble for Tom, at least he stood by Pres Palmer.  But what's gonna happen to Tom?

That's for sure!! Last night's show was a real nail biter.  About the time things are beginning to level out a bit, whamo, here comes more plots/sub plots.  Amazing how they constantly keep interweaving more stuff into it!  Wow, what a great show!

My head is swirling... I'm fairly certain Josh is Jack's son, but he seems to have inherited little from the mother's side of the family. For example when told to run from the killers, she stays with Milo even though she knows for certain they have guns and for all she knows is going to kill them both. Heroic but stupid comes to mind. (Unless she knows that Jack has signed on for another few years of 24 and will save the day. I'd say Milo was very lucky though, given the odds of CTU staff to live more than one season.)

Josh could/should have made for the door when he heard his loving grandfather say 'Too bad, if you don't do what I want, I'll have to send Josh to be with his father.' (Whichever one it is, maybe I've been reading too much about Anna Nichole.) Given his heritage couldn't he have figured out some way to take out his grandfather and get the gun? Rip the lamp cord out of the wall and zap him?

I'm to the point that I'd be willing to bring back President Logan from his forced retirement because really and truly I don't want to watch another  President assassinated but I'd rather it be Logan than another Palmer. He needs a shave though... Logan REALLY REALLY needs a shave. My hopes were that the little weasel would go rat out the guy in the boiler room, but nope.. no such luck he's on the floor and the weasel is busy getting the hit man clearance.

I've decided Rudy, bring back Audrey and Kim.

ETA: I am sort of disappointed this year. I love 24. I've watched it every season since it began, but something is different this year and I can't quite put my finger on it. I think it is the writing for Jack. His character just isn't the same. I don't know if they are writing it this way to add some dramatic tension to the show.  ??? Hopefully it will pick up though. This week was definitely better.

Omgosh, TL...I was telling my best friend, also an avid 24 fan, that Josh doesn't appear to fit into the same mold as his gr'pa and dad.  He resembles Jack in actions/expressions/ perceptiveness/awareness of his surroundings.  Well, my friend suggested the same as you... that possibly Josh is Jack's son!!  Awesome if he is!  :yess:   Wow, that would more than fill a deep void in Jack's life, having viciously lost his wife, having to kill his good friend Curtis, then finding out that his dad & bro turned out to be lowlife wicked murderers!  I sooo hope Josh is his son.

Even if Josh had gone to the door, I doubt he could unlock it with the card without making noise, & gotten clear away from his gr'pa in time.  I kept saying...go Josh, goooo...get the heck outa there!!  Whoa, sooo intense.  My head was swirling too!  Had to take a few deep breaths and gather my wits after the show!!

Audrey is returning, but from what I've read...not for a long time.  It probably won't be this season.  And Kim?  I really doubt she'll be back unless it's for a very brief visit w/ her dad.  She is the least liked among viewers.  My friend can't stand her!  I tolerate her.

If Pres Palmer is assassinated, the VP would take over unless the plan is for the whole administation to be overthrown?  I hadn't thot it thru that far...so not sure how that will play out.

What do you think about the actor who plays Pres Wayne Palmer?  I haven't liked his acting at all.  He overplays the part, like he's trying too hard.  But last season, he did a great job playing the brother/president's advisor role.  Maybe he got so used to playing that role, it's difficult for him to fit into & adjust to a totally different role...in the same environment.  Dunno, but he makes me nervous.  He is not a natural in the President role...not yet anyway.  I hope, if he isn't killed off, his acting will very soon improve greatly!

Well, I could go on and on, but need to do my Survivor game and git to bed. :nitenite:

Ruday, Sorry I have been a little busy lately or I would have answered you sooner. I'm tired of old Prez. Wayne Palmer. Since he was further away from the blast, I'm sure he is just injured not killed but sadly the VP will take over. David Palmer was a much better character and actor for that matter, he was believable in the role.

I have decided after seeing the previews for next week that Jack was suffering from jet lag and is getting his act together, the old Jack is coming back to life. Whew!

That's ok, TL.  I understand!

Maybe the producers got negative feedback on the actor playing the Prez, and decided to take him out of the limelight, so they changed the storyline to focus on the VP.  I don't like the VP or the situation, but his acting is excellent.

ttyl!
