You guys are great.  Why in the final run to the mat does 'Bama still have their back packs on and the other teams do not?

Because they don't know any better.  And look at the size of those packs!  If you are running to win a million bucks, throw all that junk away!

Here is a RATP map of the Champ de Mars-Tour Eiffel Metro Stop.

Gman! We are wrong.  It is that stair well that I originally drew to.

But now, R&K are busted for either theatrics or being really blindstupid.  They had to walk along the Quai Branly.  And then we have footage of them going along Avenuede Suffren with its fence around the track.

I have included here a view from Pages Jaunes that one would see on Quai Branly.  It really screams Eiffel tower.  No way they could have missed ET along Quai Branly.

The stairwell is the MAIN entrance (with ticket booth etc.) but the station platform stretches all the way to the corner at Avenue de Suffern with the EXIT actually facing up Avenue de Suffern and NOT Quai Branly.  I know I spent a week at the hotel there in '04.  And my favorite pub is at the next corner from your marked spot - No. 38.  The spot you marked is the actual spot I took the photos of the Eiffel Tower.  So if they cross Avenue Octave Greard and don't look to their left until after Rue Jean Rey they will never see the tower and could walk quite aways. Perhaps they even stopped at the 38 Eiffel for a quick one!!

Thanks Gman.  I trust you and should trust my memory too.  The RATP map must have left out the entrance.  I think the lady shows R&K the Eiffel Tower at the same spot you took your pictures.  How come your pub has number 38 when the numbers should start over at 1 as the street changes name from Rue Jean Rey to Avenue Octave Greard?

Could be because no one is in back of them chasing them to be worried about.  I rarely ever saw them RACE to the Pit stop so I don't find it unusual.   Personally I believe those pictures in the clips don't suggest to me that the J/T or K/R are the winners.  Every time they arrive at a pit stop they do the same thing not knowing what position they are in.  So do the Winners just stand on the map waiting for the 2nd and 3rd place to come in?  I rarely followed AR before so I don't know.

Well even if they knew they were first I don't think the picture would look any different. Karlyn always has that sourpuss chip on her shoulder diva biatch look on her face.  :rotf:

Yes the teams that arrive first are there up on the matt when the others arrive (unless they are significantly behind like more then an hour or two).

But it depends where they shot that footage if they have just been given the final plac to run to but aren't in a direct line of sight yet.  Or if that shot is them seeing the matt.

But I will say this is the first time I can ever recall seeing the producer give so much away on the last foot race to the Matt.

So I have to assume its misdirection.

And even though I really want Tyler & James to win.  I don't think they do.

The footage does imply that all teams finish relatively close together.  In what order?

Can you blow up the pics of the contestants clapping waiting on the fianl 3... maybe you can tell by the barbies, chos or mary and David's face how happy they are to help with who wins.

:cmas10  For the "die hard" detectives, here's a link to a map of the towns along the Hudson from NYC to Hyde Park.  Interesting, no one brought up West Point yet.  Not a coincidence that a lot of towns have "falls" in their names (i.e. Highland Falls, Wappingers Falls, etc.).   :snicker:

I haven't found the right building, but I might be in the neighborhood. Take the mat photo and flip it and compare it to this Flickr shot (photo source) from Montgomery Place. Another photo here. Kmz attached. There's more than one railroad spit in the Hudson valley, so I'll keep looking for the building.

It's funny how the teams are standing in order of elimination.

I can't remember if this has always been done.

As for the "happiness" factor I think this would probably be a dry run for the camera-run-up-to-the-mat.  So they just tell everyone to clap and look happy.  The waiting teams don't know yet who will be coming around the bend.

There is no point in plipping Phil!

The word "RACE" appears correctly on the mat!   :rotf:

After blowing up those finish pics, Dustin and Kandice dont look excited at all.  Dustin is standing strait no jumping, and Kandice has like a whatever stance, and look to be giving a slow clap. They dont look happpy at all.
