Top Chef, Season Two
« on: October 25, 2006, 06:41:50 PM »
Season two is just beginning. Anyone watching it with me?  :hallo2

I see two who are already noticeable, not in a particularly good way. Otto and Marcel. Otto totally screwed up his first dish with under cooked rice and Marcel is somewhat obnoxious.

Yes he does!  :umn: We were trying to identify that hairdo last night. Eddie Munster comes to mind or Wolverine.

I was not surprised that Otto would pack his knives and go but I didn't expect it to happen the way it did.

I am watching too.  I am so glad that they got a new host.  I like this one much better than Billy Joels wife.

She was??? I didn't realize that!

I long for the days when we had Stephen and Harold. Harold did a great job as a judge though didn't he.  :wine:

Just bumping this one up.....anyone still watching? I am. Seems like Bravo is dragging this one out. I don't remember season one being this long.

So, who do you think will win? My money is on Sam or Cliff.

I think both have a good chance.. I also think Elia will make it to the final four. They really have drug this season out, I think you are right about that.  :groan: I can't even stand to watch the reruns.

I do find the previews for next week intriguing. For several weeks they have been showing more and more animus towards Marcel and it seems that some sort of joke was played that backfired. My guess is Marcel was the victim. (Or I suppose the perp but he seems to provoke more with his words than by actions.)

I'm thinking Sam will win, he reminds me a lot of Harold in his demeanor.

Marcel was the victim just as I thought he would be.

I wonder if anyone besides me thought Cliff wasn't the only one at fault when he attacked Marcel. Sam was laughing and it seems like Ilan was doing the filming. I don't think Sam or Ilan deserve to win and all of them including Elia and Marcel are lacking one way or another to be a chef at this time. All need some maturity and Elia needs some leadership training.

Marcel Attacked by a Fan

Very tough going for "Top Chef 2" contestant Marcel. Last week it was a headlock from Cliff. This week, the press is burning the toast with a report of Marcel being hit on the head with a bottle by a disgruntled fan. He's alright, but the poor guy needed 30 stitches, Marcel told “Las Vegas Weekly."

"This girl came up to me at a nightclub and asked me if I was Marcel from 'Top Chef.' The next thing I knew, this bottle struck me, and my friends had to rush me to the hospital. I needed 30 stitches."

We wish Marcel a speedy recovery, and would like to echo the sentiments he offered during his interview: "I don't believe violence solves anything."
