From Real.com:
Why are the cameras showing a fireplace? I thought Big Brother 7 had 24/7 feeds.
Answer
The Big Brother 7 house this year includes a gas fireplace. When the show is airing on TV (and at select other times), the cameras will be pointed at the house fireplace.
At any time during the Big Brother 7: All-Stars season, if you see the fireplace, the feed is not down. CBS has reserved the right to limit, delay, or block the live camera feeds at these times:
- When the live show airs (after the premiere on July 6th, on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Sundays, 8pm ET/PT).
- During potentially inappropriate scenes (including nudity or other adult rated situations).
- Intermittently during houseguest challenges, preparation for the live show, and other times chosen by CBS.
Because CBS airs the program on both television and the Internet, this keeps the content new and original for all viewers of the TV show. CBS also displays this policy when you sign up for Big Brother
Looks like we get a fireplace this year instead of the fish.

Darn, the fish were kinda entertaining!!! LOL

Rob thinks it will be a "looped" fireplace :groan: *groan* ! Ya know like some networks do for X-Mas with the looped Yulelog .

Gas fireplaces are used just for decor more than heat. Its likely the producers will true it on before they cut the feeds, and then turn it off again when we get the live feeds again.

Ok, so they've had fish forever & everyone's sick of them. BB1 had chickens. Could do that again? A fireplace?? Dum.
How about living creatures: Hamsters, birds, a monkey, or a pig! Or what about a non-shedding dog in case some guests are allergic. Poodles and bichon frises are non-shedding...and maybe others, but dunno which ones.
OR: a small garden already planted & needs care; indoor plants enclosed in an aquarium-type thing. can't think of the name. It's too late this season for live critters I suppose, but a fireplace in CA in the middle of summer seems really stupid. It must be for looks only. Surely they won't burn it!! :groan:

if you noticed in the Den/eviction room when Julie was sitting there three were flames on the wall behind her so perhaps fire is somewhat of a theme this season. LOL Maybe Julie will say "In the BB house fire is life"
