Usually I can tell right away if a guy is dressed like a girl, but the girl who ended up being a guy threw me for a loop. I loved the song he sang by Whitney Houston and I am shocked that Paula Abdul did not like him.

That guy freaked me out too. I tried like crazy to imagine he was a guy. I felt kinda sorry for him, but didn't like his performance. :hand:

Rudy, I also was looking for some sign of him being a guy. As they were walking out, I DID notice his biceps were a little bit more masculine looking. But that's all I saw.
I do feel badly for him....can't imagine all the comments made by other kids while in school. Kids can be cruel. He seems like a nice guy, but he is not AI material. Did not sing good at all.

Oh no, I didn't think you were being harsh. I can TOTALLY understand what you're saying with what he was wearing. That, well he walked right into that one. I was saying generally even while dressing more masculine. I wonder if he hears he looks like a girl even then. If so, it's gotta be hard. I don't know if I'm making sense or not.

Not to be making fun of him, but seems to me that if he's offended that people think he's a she, HE would go overboard to dress n' act mascuine. I was confused on whether he wanted to be "viewed" as a female or a male? During the audition I did not see any signs of manhood,but when he came out I thought I caught a glimpse. It just goes to show ya that we are looking...LOL

Gee, these auditions are so crazy...unbelieveable! :groan: :groan: :groan: Do these peeps really think they have a chance or are they jsut there for the heckuvit?! Is this how it's always been in AI?? (I've never watched until this season) The truly talented ones are few & far between, that's for sure! I can hardly w8 for the good ones to start competing! :jumpy:

I think there is one more city (Boston) before going to Hollywood. Who wants to make a bet that guy who danced and flirted with Paula (even though he's married) will be one of the people who ends up in a hot tub with other girls? I don't think he'll last long.

I can't believe Paula put herself in that situation on national tv (letting a guy carry her out the way he did) especially after all the scandal she went through with that one guy last season. She's already putting herself in a bad position....literally!! :lol: :lol:

My first ever AI season so didn't know about the Paula thing. I thought the guy carrying her like that was kinda bizarre for her being a judge, but passed it off as an "OH well"!
Actually, AI is totally crazy so I'm not too surprised at anything (in the preliminaries at least) Such a bunch of verrry poor candidates was surprising to me at first, then I realized they must do it on purpose to create more drama!!
I'm just happy they're now awwwwn with the show in Hollywood and the judging criteria is LOTS more serious. Now we have the good, better, & best competing, not some lame brains just trying to get attenion!!

he twins that got in trouble with the law? What is up with that? Who do they think they are? American Idol judges? They are very judgemental and would not make it with their attitudes in the music industry, but hey what do I know.
The other thing that threw me the other night was the cowboy. He got another chance. I hope he atleast picks a guy song to sing.

I'm sooo happy AI is past the preliminaries and down to the final 24! :jumpy:
My favs are Paris Bennett, Katharine McPhee, Kellie Pickler, and Taylor Hicks, not neccessarily in that order. I like a few others too, but can't remember their names. I like Katharine the best so far.
Bummer that AI and Survivor will be airing at the same time this week.
I'll be flipping channels 4sure.

Your pic cracks me up! I remember seeing an episode of ER where there is this disease where you can be a male but have female parts cough cough - rare but can happen. Not an expert so if you have questions / comments use the internet instead of asking me. :knuckles:
