Is Family misspelled "Fammily" on purpose, or just another goof by some CBS intern?  This can't be a clipshow as it does mention that it is the 11th leg, and according to everything we know there are only 11 legs in TAR8.

Weasels and the Law: CBS Misdirection to be sure.  Next pit stop is an elimination stop and it looks like the Bransens are on the chopping block.

Guess after all that prep and practice in TAR5 they had to get the teepee building gig back in.

At least we are pretty sure about the pit stop this time: a ranch outside Billings, Montana.

That bit about the production team draining the car battery sucks.  Why penalize the racing team because the camera crew reporting to TPTB goofs AGAIN.

And the Weasels don't seem to be too handicaped by losing their money and extra clothing. Will Rory be stuck in those red shorts for the rest of the race?

Losing interest in TAR8 pretty fast.  Bring on TAR9 (at least they seem to be travelling around Australia!)

Hopefully someone will be able to identify the Indian Chief. Their outfits, feathers, etc. are pretty disitinctive aren't they?  :headhunter: (been wanting a reason to use this guy)
Also, hope someone (maybe a local) can tell us which sheriff department has the Weavers pulled over.  ]//{
What's up with the AOL previews lately??? Come on, throw us a bone!!  )<

Amazing Race makes stop in Billings

BILLINGS -- The latest season of one of TV's most popular reality shows begins Tuesday night on KTVQ. And part of this year's "The Amazing Race" will look very familiar to viewers in the Billings area.

Q2 has learned that the contestants and crew of "The Amazing Race: Family Edition" stayed in Billings for several days.

CBS won't say where the production crew spent time, or how far along in the series the Billings stop was.

In the Emmy-winning reality show, teams follow clues and race each other around the world on a limited budget.

For the Family Edition, instead of couples, nine families of four are competing for a $1 million grand prize.

The season premiere of "The Amazing Race: Family Edition" airs every Tuesday at 8:00 p.m. on KTVQ.

The Amazing Race: A Rumor
Now that the Amazing Race has started, the rumor mill is grinding. I heard a rumor a month or so ago that the Amazing Race contestants had been in Montana. And in Billings no less. But today I heard another rumor from a pretty reliable source. Not only were the Amazing Race contestants in Montana but the pit stop for that particular point in the race was a ranch not more than 45 miles from where I live! Whether this is all true or not remains to be seen. But this is the way I heard it. The Race leaves Cody, WY and heads for Fishtail, Montana through Red Lodge. They camp at the ranch for their mandatory rest period and then head off to the airport in Billings. Which means they had to pass by the town I live it! This is all too exciting! This is all speculation, however, but it sure makes the race fun to watch.

30. "Don't know how credible..."
I read on a site, don't know where, that there was something about going to Montana for a visit to Pomp's Pillar (The place that Lewis and Clark engraved their signatures on the expedition), that's outside Billings. The C.M. Russell art museum, that's outside Great Falls, and lastly something about purple sidewalk squares. Don't know what's significant about it, or where that is in Montana.

Havre Montana (http://en.wiana)Walking around the streets of Havre one may see a few small grids of purple colored squares on the sidewalk. These are from a sort of underground "mall" built in the city at least a hundred years ago (the squares let in sunlight).

Hi Rose,

Here is the scoop the way I heard it. I know ________ that
own a ranch near the Fishtail/Absarokee area in Montana. He told us a week
after the Race had started that one of the pit stops would be at this ranch.
I guess they filmed it sometime during July but he didn't pinpoint exactly
when. He also never told us how many teams were left at that time. He has
never watched Amazing Race so I don't think he would be making it up. He
told us that they wanted a "real" cowboy to greet the contestants so it must
be a pit stop. He also told us that the winners of that leg of the race win
a car because they had to bring it out to the ranch. He said some of the
teams had to leave in the middle of the night to drive to the airport in
Billings which also leads me to believe it is a pit stop. So unless the
Amazing Race films fake footage to throw people off I am pretty sure this
happens.

I can't see the Race going through Yellowstone Park because of the terrible
road conditions and traffic. The road between Cody and Red
Lodge/Fishtail/Absarokee area is two lane and not great but the traffic
isn't too bad. If they do drive it, they will have to watch out for
wildlife, deer, etc. because they are always in the road. If they are going
into Yellowstone Park, they could have been planning to go to Red Lodge via
the Beartooth Highway, which would have been awesome, but we had landslides
this spring and the road has been closed all summer. Maybe they had to make
a detour through Cody to get to Red Lodge. Kind of a round about way but it
would be one of the only ways to get to Red Lodge from Yellowstone Park
because of the road closure. This is all just speculation.

I absolutely love The Amazing Race. It is a great show!

PZ

Ha! Chateau, those locations may look close together, but a lot of driving on two lane roads is required. Plus, you add in all of the summer traffic (RVs, etc.) and one can become a very frustrated driver.

There's also a great change in elevation. Cody's only at 5000 feet. Yellowstone's roads are mostly at 7500 to 8500 feet.

If they visit Old Faithful, they'll have to make a loop in Yellowstome to get to Cody. You have to take a left at the T coming up from the Tetons.

Yellowstone is one of the greatest places I have ever visited but the driving sucked. Oh, I forgot to add all of the vehicles slowing down and stopping to view the elk, buffalo, moose, and other animals..

I don't expect an auto race in Yellowstone.

Found a picture of the Irma cherrywood bar here (http://www.ultimatewyoming.com/businessdirectory/buspages/sec2/irmahotelphotos.html) which seems to match #51. As Pedaler wrote a few days back, there's not much to do in Cody if you're not a BB fan or a bighorn hunter.

The Sisters don't look too happy.  Is this a recycled photo?  If not, it looks suspiciously like a post-elimination interview, similar to some that we got of the Paolos right before they were eliminated.  Are we still thinking the Bransens are next out?  They've been doing so well...

I dunno , just looking

The Hardin area is rich in history. Each year the Crow celebrate their heritage at the Crow Fair with a powwow which is the largest in the state.

South of Hardin is the Little Bighorn Battlefield, where the Northern Plains Indians defeated Custer and the U.S. Army.

The world famous Custer's Last Stand Reenactment is one of Custer Country's biggest annual attractions, an annual event celebrated in Hardin. Sioux, Northern Cheyenne, and Arapaho warriors under the leadership of Sitting Bull, Crazy Horse, and Gall fight George Armstrong Custer's Seventh Cavalry troopers. The reenactment script is based on Crow Tribal Elder Joseph Medicine Crow's translation of oral and written Native American narrative beginning before Lewis and Clark's epic journey almost 200 years ago. Presentations have a newly expanded emphasis on the impact of the explorers' travels, to be commemorated with a much-heralded Lewis and Clark bicentennial in 2003-2006. The sweeping pageantry of high plains history is portrayed by over 200 participants, including descendants of the troopers, Indian warriors, and scouts involved in the original battle. It is listed as one of the ‘Top 100 Events in America' by Destinations magazine.

The only writing and emblem I see is Buick.

No sign of the Bransens so what does it mean? Lets see .... Ep. 3 we saw no signs of the Godlewskis so we thought they were out; Ep. 4 we saw no signs of the Schroeders and they were out. So the answer is, who knows?  :huhC:

Is this a recycled photo?

Rmax,  There's an insider video this week (Bad Animals) with the sisters being interviewed. The video matches the photo. In the video, Michelle talks about how she bruised her leg during the cowboy task.  She also says that the sisters colored? her bruise "last night".

Since the last episode ended on the day of the cowboy task, that would mean that the video and photo were from an interview in the future.

I get the impression that the interview was a post leg interview, not a post elimination interview.

Most likely the Native American location is within the Crow Indian Reservation and the site of the Custer Battlefield National Monument where the good general died with his boots on at the Battle of Little Bighorn.  Location is near Hardin about 60 miles from Billings.

Teams probably leave the non-pit stop at the ranch south of Yellowstone and could go through Cody, Wyoming for a task with the Buffalo Bill location then on to Teepee gig somewhere in the Crow Reservation perhaps near Little Big Horn. And we have probably a visit to Pompey's Pillar with the Lewis and Clark tie-in.  So this half-leg could really have some interesting historical tie-ins: Buffalo Bill, General Custer, Lewis and Clark.

We know that the pit stop for the end of Leg 10 is at the ranch near Billings.  And this will get us down to three teams for the final leg 11 and the dash to Niagara Falls and David State Park for the final big mat in the sky. And did that former CBS intern tip us off with the X on the Bransens which was removed a day later? Real CBS Misdirection or a mistake costing the guy his job?

The Sisters don't look too happy.  Is this a recycled photo?  If not, it looks suspiciously like a post-elimination interview, similar to some that we got of the Paolos right before they were eliminated.  Are we still thinking the Bransens are next out?  They've been doing so well...

that confessional is not from now and its not recycled its from the finish line (Niagara Falls) compare it to the Starsi pic they are so simmular.  They are mad or look disapointed becuase they just came in second place to the Linz family.

Elizabeth Branson does not have the same backround she looks more like at a ranch (after there elimination), The Godlewski are very simmular to the Starsi pic and its not a ranch.

If Ms. Branson is the same backround as Chris when has she ever wore that red shirt??  I dont remember so its just her at teh finish line talking.  Like in AR5 in egypt the midget talked about riding horses in a confessional and it was from the finish line in Dallas.

Here is the scoop the way I heard it. I know someone who has relatives that
own a ranch near the Fishtail/Absarokee area in Montana. He told us a week
after the Race had started that one of the pit stops would be at this ranch.
I was looking for the Ranch or maybe the field that they are buiding the teepees on  :lolCX:

Military and Native Indian history runs deep along the Stillwater and Rosebud Rivers near Absarokee, Montana.  In 1874 there were no highways, no telephones, no power lines and just a dot here and there representing squatters, Indians, expedition camps and the Crow Indian Agency -- "The Mission".  The first Crow Agency at Ft. Parker, present day Livingston, Montana, burned in 1872, then relocated and built in 1874 four miles south of present day Absarokee.

Thanks Puddin! After watching the video again with my finger on the pause button these are some observations:

- Running to the detour you see the Weavers, Linzs and Bransens together. If the Godlewskis are there they are running last and aren't in the pic.
- Weaver and Godlewski do the teepee
- Linz and Bransen do the wagon build
- After building the wagon those teams ride off in the wagon and Linz look on as they pass team(s) doing teepees
- Bransen also ride off with a team not halfway through building a teepee (there is a finished teepee there, don't know if it was an example or team has finished?)

Linz should ROCK this detour!!!  :grinC:

sups right after we see the Bransens passing the teepees the Linz say " whoa whoa that looks like its going to tip over " maybe the Linz are behind the Bransen's wagon ..maybe just maybe the Bransens wagon falls apart and they have to start over ? unless they are making fun of someones teepee   </]

If this article is right a team actually gets eliminated this Tuesday  .. can you beleive it ? YAY

One team will be eliminated Tuesday, with three advancing to the finale the following week, DelliColli says.

I still can't understand why TPTB would continue to penalize teams due to "production errors" like leaving a videocamera on and draining the car battery.  This is different than picking the wrong car and having it breakdown half way between Budapest and Eger, that was just the luck of the draw.

The only thing I can think of is that a delay such as this would not matter in the long run since there probably is a built-in bunch-up point before the next elimination jump on the mat.  Just like we had this week with everyone having to wait for the 6AM start of the balloon run. Poor Linz  lost their 4.5 hour lead over the Weasels and eventually fell from first (which spot they were in during the entire race up to the time they were late getting to the overnight) to last.

CBS misdirection has you believe that the Weasels are detained by the local sheriff on the way to the pit stop and this would make them come in last.  I sort of doubt it.  More likely the Bransen wagon loses a wheel and they have to go back and start over.

Speculation has it that the Bransens are next to pick up the dreaded "X" on the CBS website page!!

Gman do you think TPTB scurried to make the last leg an extended leg becuase of the production screw up ? as the week before the G-sisters also had the same prodution problem with their battery making it a non-elim leg .

I agree the Bransen's are toast whatever the scenario ..they had there story last week when daddy shined at the railroad task as the Paolo's did before there elimination ,Papa Paolo and the banana task . And the Webmonkey blurb sure seems to confirm this .

CBS Press Release :

ONE TEAMMATE'S PERFORMANCE OVERWHELMS THE REST OF THE FAMILY AND GETS THEM OUT OF A POTENTIAL JAM, ON "THE AMAZING RACE 8," TUESDAY, DEC. 6 ON THE CBS TELEVISION NETWORK

"The Family Christmas Card" -- One teammate's performance overwhelms the rest of the family and gets them out of a potential jam, on THE AMAZING RACE 8, Tuesday, Dec. 6 (9:00-10:00 PM, ET/PT) on the CBS Television Network. Phil Keoghan is the host of the series.

On the way to the Pit Stop, one team gets pulled over by the police and wonders if this will cost them the race. Tensions continue to rise as another racer pulls away from the team to perform a task on her own.

Could be since all previews and early info bits indicated things happening "on the way to the pit stop".  The Linzzibs and Godlyones are at least 92 minutes behind the others and the sun is about to set when they finally reach Phil on the rail. But I would think that the "next clue" will be sending them somewhere to spend the night either in their trailers (how convenient and nice of TPTB to provide same) or they must camp out and wait for some opening time tomorrow morning. Which means all four teams are going to bunch up once again perhaps at Buffalo Bill's bar in Cody.

Something bad is going to happen to the Bransens which will make them lose out to the evil Weasels; perhaps their wagon wheel is going to fall off. We do seem to see them pass the evil ones still working on their teepee.

I thought it was logical to wait for Buffalo Bill bar to open the next morning for the bunch up but the the shot of 3 teams running together through the field (at the detour?) has to be the morning bunch up. If they had visited the the bar first they probably wouldn't be arriving at the detour at the exact same time (since they have to change into costumes and pose for pics.)

Maybe since it's the Bransens turn some monkey camera crew drains their car battery and that's how they bite the dust.

At least then next week it will be Weasels turn.  :neenerC:

In this pic the first teepee is the example that was already set up (the one that had the indian standing next to it). The second is the Weavers that are over 1/2 through if not almost finished and next the Godlewskis who are just getting started.

In the shots of the Bransens riding by I can't tell if it's Weavers building the tent or the Godlewskis (with the finished tent being the Weavers.)

The only reason I question the Bransens having a wheel fall off is that someone would have approved their work before letting them leave.

This shot looks like about 8 pm.  So it would then be 2 hour’s drive from Old Faithful.

From NPS at Yellowstone:  “The maximum speed limit is 45 mph (73 km per hour) unless posted otherwise.”

From Old Faithful to the entrance is 39 miles.  So that‘s 50 min to the South Entrance.

So the ranch would be about 70 miles From there.  That is arrived at by the path on the GE image at the bottom.

Wow Chateau your really good
this is what Pandora posted after the show
This makes perfect sense because in order to go from Old Faithful to Absarokee, they would have to have taken the round about way because of the Beartooth Highway closure. I couldn't believe they could show all the teams going from Old Faithful to the pit stop in Montana in the last ten minutes of the show.

Good observations on the tents Sups  |#'

If the teams continue south on Route 287 70 miles to find the ranch with Phil with the raised left eyebrow they would be in the Dubois area.  So if they then are given instructions to continue on as the sun sets in the west, they may not backtrack along route 287 and route 16 to Cody, WY and then up to the Northern Cheyenne or Crow Indian Reservations in Montana but may continue a few more miles south to the WIND RIVER INDIAN RESERVATION.  The headquarters for this reservation is at Fort Washakie a famous Eastern Shoshone chief (with a statue in the Capitol's Statuary Hall in Washington DC). This reservation is home of the Eastern Shoshone and Northern Arapahoe indian tribes.  Both are plains indians and have teepee villages in the reservation.  This area also was on the Famous Oregon Trail.  Covered wagon tours are available in the reservation.  Also there are golf courses in the area. So they could do the DETOUR and ROADBLOCK  in this area then travel north about 195 miles to Cody, WY to find Buffalo Bill's Bar for the dress up and picture taking (Kodak Digital camera plug, plug). Then on up about 135 miles to Billings, MT for the pit stop.

WHITE RIVER INDIAN RESERVATION

Minor correction, G'Man.  It's Wind River, not White River.  I've been there to see Sacajawea's grave.

The area around there looks nothing like the golf course terrain.  The types of and limited number of trees in the vidcaps look similar to what can be found around a golf course in Cody http://www.oliveglenngolf.com/ (http://www.oliveglenngolf.com/)  Unfortunately, I can't find a match.

Hi, guys! Long time no see.

So what's this talk about the Bransen getting eliminated in this episode. They're my favorite team along with Linzes and they are doing really good in this last leg, they're at least 90 minutes ahead of the Glodewskis and Linzes.

Can you tell me what spoilers exactly say that they're out next? Or is  just the cross thing over at the site? Because that could be misdirection, right?

Plus they have final 3 edition, they're like Jon/Kris, the nice/kinda invisible team.

D---, you're too fast for me Peddler.  Of course, I meant to write WIND but my fingers don't always do what my brain tells them to do.

One picture of the gold couse on the reservation looks similar but it won't transfer over. Will try the courses and see if any of them have pix we can use

www.oliveglenngolf.com

The one in Cody does look similar to the vidcap; same sloping fairways and small pine trees. So after doing the DETOUR perhaps somewhere in the Wind River Indian Reservation which from the length of the shadows is either very early in the morning shortly after sunrise or just before sunset.  But the latter makes no sense so it must be the early morning gig. After competing this they could then be given directions to find Buffalo Bill at some sleazy bar in Cody, WY. This would be a drive of about 159 miles.  After getting spruced up and slicked down they have their picture took (have to find someone to take picture of the entire team with BB)  Do they then find a local Kodak dealer and have digital pix printed out (this has been done many times before) and when they do they receive clue to go to the Olive Glenn Golf club for ROADBLOCK which is to find a certain number of balls or maybe just to find the orange ball.  Finally they then get instructions to drive north again to Billings Montana.  Maybe they have to do a task there for another route clue such as find Pompey's Pillar and then get clue to go to the pit stop at the ranch outside Billings.

This is probably the last elimination pit stop. And they probably arrive here in early or mid afternoon since we have report that they had to leave early in the morning to get to the Billings Airport.

Slowhatch posted a photo of the bar on the first page of this thread.

I've eaten there and it's a pretty good place.  Even though the vidcaps foucus on the bar, most of the first floor is a dining area with the fancy bar to the side.

I'm kind of surprised that they would shoot any scenes in there since it's a very popular place.

Hey, puddin!

Thanks for the answer. That sucks, i really like the Bransens.

Well, this season is really boring anyway, so i'm really just waiting for season 9 with the teams of two and with the race around the world like the Amazing Race we all love.  : )

About the lighting in the bar, I just get a morning vibe from it.  Can't do better without a shadow line.

The teepee building looks really early morning too.

Temperatures in Cody  (http://www.wunderground.com/history/airport/KCOD/2005/7/27/DailyHistory.html?req_city=NA&req_state=NA&req_statename=NA) ranged from 50 at about 5:30 am to 82 at about 3:30 pm on July 27th 2005.

Puddin!  :holidayC:  could you help me gather all the promo shots that show the tee pees with shadows?  I have an idea that at the beginning the shadow points as it would for sunrise.  That I can look up.  Then as teams progress I see the tee pee shadow moving clockwise like the hands of a clock (is that redundant or what!). And it will give some idea of how long the task takes and who gets it done first.  That assumes we can identify which team is at which tee pee.  There's only two doing it so it should be easy.

And not that there was any doubt:  the golf carts are definitely the Roadblock

Yea looks like they will get Gus and Hera'd sucks.  GH rocked in the leg of the TBC( i think they would have finished second) and then were eliminated in the second half of the TBC.

Thanks Banzai!

This would be the Bransens arriving at the Detour.  They are driving (or riding something) along the road that goes behind (shadow side of) the Tee Pees.  And you can see that the Tee Pees are fairly far along.

So they are rather late!

Yeah...i remember that. They had a pretty good lead. So frustrating. I prefer the Bransens over the Weasels and the Glodewskis any time.

So they arrive late at the detour...more evidence of them losing.

If it's the car battery thing fault, i'll be really pissed.

Just thought I'd post links to a couple of photos that show Phil sitting on the fence at the false pit stop.

The first one from TARFlies shows little in the background  http://www.tarflies.com/gallery2/v/tar08/tar08_09/RDVD_1599.jpg.html (http://www.tarflies.com/gallery2/v/tar08/tar08_09/RDVD_1599.jpg.html)

The second one is from a blog written by the Bowling Moms from TAR5.  The Tetons are shown in the background.  If it's a true vidcap, then the false pit stop was on U.S. 26/89/191 on the way to Jackson

The route marker given to the teams by the fireman at Old Faithful clearly says drive south on Route 287. Chateau estimates the distance to be about 70 miles south of the South Entrance to Yellowstone Park which would put the ranch somewhere around Dubois, WY.You probably could get a shot of the Grand Tetons way in the distance if Phil is sitting on the right fence with the sun coming from the West which would be on the back of his head.
Title: Re: EP11 :' The Family Christmas Card '
Post by: Chateau d If on December 02, 2005, 11:02:50 PM
That 70 miles could be expressed as somewhere between 40 and 90 miles.

In the Mom's shot those Tetons do look closer than they would look from Dubois.  I tried Google Earthing it and they get rather small.  But Camera Dudes know how to make the far look near with just a twist of a lens.  So... ?

Thanks, G'man.  I knew about the 15200 but didn't know about the Route number.

But if the Mom's photo is correct, the false pit stop isn't near Dubois. I've driven that road before.  At Moran Junction, the highway going south splits with one branch going toward Jackson and the other toward Dubois.  The road to Dubois climbs up over the Continental Divide and the Rocky Mountains at Togwatee Pass. Dubois is then 30 to 40 miles downhill from there.  You wouldn't be able to see the Tetons from there.

Estimating travel time after an Old Faithful eruption is kind of dicey.  The racers did not view Old Faithful anywhere near where most tourists do.  In the summer time there could be many hundreds of people around Old Faithful.  Traffic jams can ensure as the sightseers depart.

Wherever it is, they don't stay very long.  They get sent on their way by Phil's clue.  Characteristically, they would be sent to find Buffalo Bill in Cody.  And get stopped by Hours of Operation until something like 8 am (a time when regular customers/visitors would not be there).

Then golf carts.  Then wagons and TeePees*.  Then Pit Stop in Fishtail/Absarokee.

*The long shadows here could be either early AM or late in the day.

And you can see that the Tee Pees are fairly far along.

Maybe the Bransen's decision to do the wagons is their downfall.  The Godlewski's may have learned a leesson at the railroad task by not doing the strength task this time.  If none of the women can roll a wagon wheel, then it's 3 Linzes against 1 Bransen.  That could be a significant difference depending upon how far they have to roll the wheels to the wagons.

Just a thought.  Maybe that photo of the Bransen sister near the Tee Pee is her struggling to roll a wagon wheel and not her riding on the wagon.

There's an indentation on the sleeve patch that gives it a distinctive shape; unfortunately, there's not enough resolution to read the print. It might be a sheriff's deputy or tribal police; it's not the Montana or Wyoming highway patrol (see here (http://www.weaselsweb.com/weaselfl/SP.html)).

Augusta, Montana looks to be pretty much out of the way if they are coming up from Wyoming and will end up near Billings, Monana for the pit stop.

Route 287 does split about 30 miles south of the South Entrance of Yellowstone, but Route 287 continues on the East side of the Continental Divide and Routes 25/89 continue on to Jackson, WY. But I assume that the ranch at 15200 would still be on route 287. But maybe not.  We do have tease in opening flash credits that Jackson Hole is a location for the teams to visit.

And would it make sense, Chateau, to have the teams go south 70 miles or so on route 287 and then have them backtrack up through Yellowstone to route 16 which would take them to Cody?  Why not have them exit Yellowstone through the East Entrance if this were to be the next stop after the "fake pit stop"

They must have the "street" numbers posted on the road for EMS purposes.  It shouldn't be this difficult to find the address.  I believe the false pit stop to be around Moran Junction.

For example, this website:  http://www.yellowstonerv.com/largemap.htm (http://www.yellowstonerv.com/largemap.htm) for a campground only gives its address as Highway 26/287.

But this website:  http://www.rvparkstore.com/directory/listwyoming.htm (http://www.rvparkstore.com/directory/listwyoming.htm)  gives the same campground's address as 17800 E Hwy 287, Moran, Wy.

On one of this week's insider videos the Bransen's are giving a confessional at the pit stop and it's still light out so the pit stop is near where they met Phil.

Also, the vidcaps for this week show the racers in heavy clothing running. There are some houses in the background. Since they are wearing heavy clothes and they are together, I'm assuming this is the following morning after the pitstop.   That valley floor is something you would see in the valley from Jackson up to Moran.

But this would be only true if an analysis of the shadows indicate the runners running south. The Tetons are on the west side of the valley and there are no houses are in the National Park.

Thanks, Puddin.  I was wondering how could they find the place so easily while on the road and I couldn't find it searching on the web.   I felt like such a dumb*ss   *8/ *8/ *8/ *8/ *8/ *8/ *8/

.so Pedaler did you get to see this Buffalo Bill ?

I don't know how I missed this.  No, I didn't get to see him.  Your vidcaps of him are hilarious.  He looks like such a lecherous perv.  My impression of Buffalo Bill is based on an old 1940's movie that they used to show on TV.  The actor, Joel McCrea, was much more dignified that the current Buffalo Bill.

Thanks Banzai!

This would be the Bransens arriving at the Detour.  They are driving (or riding something) along the road that goes behind (shadow side of) the Tee Pees.  And you can see that the Tee Pees are fairly far along.

So they are rather late!

I believe that the Bransens are leaving the detour in these shots -- not arriving. The Linzs and Bransens are doing the wagons at the same time and you see the Linzs riding off in their finished wagon and looking at the the teepee builders as they leave. The Bransens are slower than the Linzs but still finish before the teepee building which looks like the longer task. They also ride off in the wagon they just built and see the Godlewskis (and possibly the Weavers) still struggling with the teepees. I think the Bransens leave the detour in 2nd place (if not 3rd). It's very early in the day so lots of things can happen between then and the pit stop.

A couple of things that might help with the timeline. Looks like they are wearing the same clothing the entire episode (with the exception of peeling off layers from the cold morning).

Detour and Buffalo Bill are early morning with teams wearing warmups and coats.

Chris Godlewski is wearing a watch as she is being molested by Buffalo Bill. :)* When I freeze it really looks like 8:20.

The golf is late in the day as they are now in short sleeves.

"If" the shot of the teams running in the field together is at the detour which I think it is it would almost have to be the first thing they do in the morning, otherwise they wouldn't be bunched up. Notice there are houses on the hill in the background if that might help find the reservation.

Hey Puddin -- I haven't looked at the insider confessionals except for the Godlewskis but I'll try to read between the lines:

Since Sharon talks about her bruise from the horse riding and said the sisters colored it in "last night", doesn't that show that the second half of leg 10 happens all in one day? They are wearing the same clothes they wore on the golf course (afternoon due to short sleeves) so the confessional is after the pitstop for leg 10?

Is that how you see it? And if so, we would assume they were NOT eliminated?? (not that we thought so anyway).  :danceC:

I just watched the insider videos and Weaver's says it all. The last thing said was:

"it was a long leg, it was tuff but we made it"!!!

They also said some lady at the campground let them go through some shirts and sweatshirts so maybe we will see them in some different clothes afterall.

from EP10 :
after the task was over and the Godlewski sisters, now in fourth place, received their clue, they started fighting over whose idea it was to do the "Spike It" task. (I watched the video over and it showed them all choosing it. The sisters, though, seemed to blame it on Chris.)

After they finally got in the car, Chris began to cry. When the others asked her if she was crying, she said, "Leave me alone! I don't want to talk to you! Leave me alone!" Later, when she was talking to the camera, Chris said, "I don't feel I get the kudos that I deserve. Deep down I know I did everything to the best of my ability. I think that I kicked butt. It's my sisters' loss if they don't see it."

Yeah, the Bransens actually have 3 clips but the one called "Father Doesn't Always Know Best" will most likely be renamed next week to "Bransens Parting Words" :cryC: although the Godlewskis seem awful bumed in theirs.

On another note, the Linzs are in a really good mood so maybe first place????

Based on the clips and these insider videos (thanks puddin for bringing them up especially with the pics!!), I'm gonna start early and predict the next episode finish as:

1. Linz
2. Weaver
3. Godlewski
4. Bransen - eliminated

One teammate's performance overwhelms the rest of the family and gets them out of a potential jam

This could very well be Chris lifting her sisters to complete the teepee task !

also I like your order
Linz first
place Weasels or G-sisters here ( remember the Weasels get pulled over so another team can pass them? )
last place Bransens :ohno:

I'm betting it has something to do with Eeyore ( dad ) , we know how easy it is to go from first to last .." one little mistake can cost you the game "
to bad the promos don't give us a clue , even the PIP during the college game was the CBS promo just mixed around abit , nothing new worth posting .
Curious to see the eyemail this week will the Bransen's be in the big picture or tiny one at the bottom? or at all ?

So looking at the vidcaps again I have to agree with you all that the Roadblock/Golf task is last before the pitstop at the Ranch ,any bets on what type of car the first place team wins ? Maybe something GMC- EY  ]][ ? I also wonder how a team of 4 shares one car ?

That's very possible; at $15 grand a pop (and a golf bag holder is a $245 option--yowza!), I can't see a golf course, even a fancy resort, shelling out for a fleet of these.

I had e-mailed luxurycarts and asked about golf courses that carry their carts. They e-mailed me back and said that all their sales are to individuals around the world. I found these 2 places in Vegas also carried the Lucerne but they didn't e-mail me back.

So the question becomes: Who made the pitch? Who suggested the placement? Did PartyBike (http://www.partybike.com/index.php) and LuxuryCarts (http://www.luxurycarts.com/) approach WRP, or was it the other way around? I'm not an expert in the business, but I'm guessing the answer is somewhere in the middle; in other words, there are staffers at CBS that go out and collect these deals and then "suggest" to producers that they include placements. Here's a quote (http://www.productplacement.biz/2005/07/19/product-placement-deals-more-of-them) from Les Moonves, mid-race, about how enthusiastic he is on placements:
Quote
“We’re making more and more of those deals: The kind of cars they drive in CSI; the kind of orange juice they drink in Two and a Half Men.”

This is strange, but if the pattern holds as it has in the past, then the pitstop at Billings, Montana will be ANOTHER NONELIMINATION LEG!!!! This is based on the fact that there was no mention of another TAR castoff family appearance on The Early Show this week. The weekly plug was for George Cluney (again) and the latest Survivor castoff.

But this could make sense and explain why we had reports of four teams flying on Air Canada on July 30 from Toronto to Montreal. Montreal or Toronto could be the pit stop for leg 11 with the elimination of the fourth team in the first hour on Dec. 13.  That would leave the traditional three teams to continue during the second hour to Niagara Falls and the Final Mat in Davis State Park in New York.

I noticed that too Gman but we have this article ~

The $1-million prize for "The Amazing Race" contestants is two weeks away. CBS will reveal the winner in a two-hour broadcast Dec. 13 says Lori DelliColli, the publicist for the show.
One team will be eliminated Tuesday, with three advancing to the finale the following week, DelliColli says.

It's hard for me to criticize my favorite show but I agree -- no elimination this week would be pretty crappy. I don't see why they would do that. Maybe CBS is just trying another misdirection via the Early Show.

I got to see this sequence in a commercial and noticed that in the background there are three teepee frames that have no cover on them or anybody working around them.  The completed teepee is probably the example teepee and the team working on a teepee is the Weasels.  Since this sequence is probably the Bransens riding along on their completed wagon that would indicate that there is quite a gap between the lead three teams and the G's.  Notice that the G's are also missing from the run-through-the-fields shot that seems to precede the Teepee/Wagon Detour.

Are the suits at CBS trying to pull a fast one on us or are TPTB really going to throw a curve ball tonight.  Still no mention of a TAR castoff on tomorrow's TES.  In the past this has always been a dead giveaway clue that the Tuesday program is a NONELIMINATION LEG.  This would bring us back to the early modus operandi when the final elimination occurred on the penultimate leg (the first hour of the finale).  If the first hour ends at a "pit stop" one team would be severly handicapped going into the final leg by losing all its money and clothing (the latter would not be too much of an actual handicap and might allow them to pick up thier pace with lighter packs etc.

Guess we will just have to wait and see what happens.

I've got a bit of a problem with the location of the ranch at 15200 highway 287. Perhaps our expert on sun direction and time can help me out.

From all indications the first teams arrive at the 15200 ranch at around 6PM. And we see that the sun is coming in low through the windshield as the car drives down the highway south from Yellowstone.  After the junction with route 26/89 at Moran, highway 287 heads southeast.  Now when they reach the ranch we have a shot of the gate and in the distance are the high mountains of the Grand Tetons. These mountains are also behind Phil on the rail with the sun on his back (from the west?) The sun is also casting a shadow of the gate from right to left. In other words the sun is to our right (west) so the ranch road is heading south.

Our cars arrive at the gate and turn LEFT ACROSS THE HIGHWAY and the sun is now streaming in the righthand windows of the car. So the car is heading south and the sun is from the west.  But acording to my map this doesn't make sense. If they have continued on 287 then they would be headed southeast and when they turned left they would be headed norhteast and the setting sun should be coming in their left hand windows not the righthand.  Also this is directly opposite of the direction we would have to see the high Grand Tetons ahead of us.

The one scenario that would make sense to all this is that they missed the turnoff and had to turnaround and come back to 15200. Then they would be headed more or lesss north west so when the turned left across the highway they would be headed southwest with the sun low to their right or from the west. This would also put he mountains correctly to the west of the ranch.

This may make more sense for if Wyoming follows the usual practice followed by other states, even numbered lots are on the left or west side of north-south roads and odd numbers are on the right or east side (on east-west roads, even numbers are on the north side and odd numbers on the south side - at least this is how it is in Virginia!)

Here  in California it's even numbers on the east and south!   :nonoC:

Another thing that may have happened is the ranch is located at 15200 on some other road and they just keep the 287 part in the audio track as that is the main road to take to get to the correct area.

Just how far will CBS go for misdirection?. In the TAR video section if you click on parting words you'll see the videos of the eliminated teams. The video listing starting at the bottom goes Black, Rogers, Aiello, Schroeder, Gaghan, Paolo then what do you see at the top?? ... a video titled "the others" which is the confessional of the Linzs at the Salt Lake City library.

I'm not biting. How stupid do they think we are?  :neenerC:

Do we know if teams film their confessionals in the order that they arrive at the pit stop? I watched the ep. 10 insider clips again and looked for differences in background, lighting etc.  The thing that stood out most was the wind. It was calm for the Linzs, just slightly breezy for the Godlewskis and Weavers but windy for the Bransens.
Am I trying too hard to figure out the finish order?  :huhC:

I think they mix the insider clips up , check out the URLs ..the numbers arent in order ,how I posted them in the EP10 thread is how they placed first to last .

this is bugging me , see they always put the webclues in the order they happen
the Weasels are already on the way to the Pitstop & the G'sisters are still doing the Roadblock? wow !

One Teammate's performance gets their Family out of a Potential Jam  .( I think its Chris G'sis )
On The Way to the Pitstop , one Team Gets Pulled Over by the Police .Will it cost them the Race?( we know this is the Weasels )
Tensions Rise when one Racer Breaks from the Team to perform a Task on her own .( I think this is Sharon G'sis /Roadblock)

Technically they've been on their way to the pitstop since they left Utah! ]][

Anyway, the roadblock may be the very last thing they do before heading to the pitstop and the Weavers are ahead of the Godlewskis. They might not be far from the golf course when they are pulled over.

What I was getting at with the order of the filming of the confessionals was that the wind shifted through the afternoon and got very windy peaking at 6 p.m. This is the weather history in Billings for July 28th.

http://www.wunderground.com/history/airport/KBIL/2005/7/28/DailyHistory.html?req_city=NA&req_state=NA&req_statename=NA

Someone like Chateau may be able to compare the background sun and wind and determine approx. time of day each video was shot. That's why I wondered if the teams usually do their video in the order which they arrive.

If they film in any old order than this whole thought process is meaningless |(

We seem to have a lot of unknowns for tonights epic.  We have most of the elements but how do they go together and in what order?

First, what do we have?

1. A completion of the TBC.  Looks like around 8PM when the Linz and Godlyones arrive to meet Phil at the fence.

2. An overnight somewheres

3. DETOUR:  Indian Reservation?  Build a TeePee or build a Wagon

4. ROADBLOCK: Find the orange ball on a golf course

5. ROUTE INFO: Find Buffalo Bill in Cody and get picture of you all in costume with him

6. PIT STOP: A ranch near Fishtail/Absarokee most likely arriving in late afternoon (since it is reported that they must leave in the early morning to reach Billings Airport on July 29.

7.  CBS MISDIRECTION:  Weasels get stopped by highway patrol on the way to the pit stop.

Now what kind of order can I make of this?

1.  After arriving at the 15200 ranch on route 287 they received directions to the Grand Teton RV Park (KOA) located nearby at 17800 Highway 287.  From the angle of the sun and shadows and the fact that the Grand Tetons can be seen behind Phil at the ranch, I surmise that the first two teams (Weasels and BrandedBunch) went pass the ranch and had to return since we see them make a left turn off highway 287 into the ranch.  At this time the sun is streaming in from the righthand windows so they must be headed in a southerly direction. Coming down directly from Yellowstone and turning to the left would make this an impossible shot.

2.  The other teams (Linz and Godly ones) arrive at the fence at about 8PM and drive on toward the "overnight" at the Grand Teton RV Park which has connections for camping vehicles.  They again leave in order they arrive the next morning (July 28) and head down route 287 toward Fort Washakie headquarters for the Wind River Indian Reservation.  But must wait until Visitor Center opens at 8AM.  I think that the DETOUR begins the day and not ends it. The shadows and low level of light indicates either late in the day or very early in the day. If it is late in the day, I do not think that we would have at least three teams bunched up and running together across the grass field toward the route marker box.

3.  DETOUR: Build a teepee following the design of the completed one (white) to the left. We see clearly that the Godlyones and Weasels are doing this task.  Or, build a wagon (or at least gather four wheels, carry them to a body on boxes, attach wheels and then get wagon master to drive them along road past the teepees before receiving their next clue.  We have he Linzzibs and BrandedBunch doing this.  The latter seem to be having trouble, but in the end we have shot of them passing one of the teepees still under construction and one completed one, so the Branded ones are not last.  Aside note: in frame 70 we see a wagon with dappled gray horses being driven but this is just the wranglers driving an expo since we can clearly see the cameraman with Sony BetaCam on his shoulder filming over the heads of the drivers.  Frame 71 we see the two drivers with no one in the back of the wagon.  But during the construction of the teepee by the Godly ones we do see what we believe to be the Linzzibs driving past.  So it looks like the final order of completion is : Weasels, Linzzibs, BrandedBunch, and then the Godlyones.

4.  Clue tells them to drive north on route 120 to Cody, WY and locate a bar with Buffalo Bill inside.  When they arrive they receive orders to change into period costumes and pick up a Kodak digital camera. When they find BB, they must get someone else to take a photo of the entire team with BB. Then perhaps following old scripts they have to go to the local Kodak print shop, print their picture and when it is printed out receive the next clue on the back of the print.

5.  The clue here tells them to find the Olive Glenn Golf Course and there they will find the ROADBLOCK which is for two team members to pick up a special Tiger Woods Buick golf cart and drive around the 18 hole course looking for an orange golf ball. When they find it they must bring it back to the golf pro to receive their next clue. As teams are completing this job it looks like it is clouding over and getting later in the day.

6.  The final clue tells them to drive to the next pit stop at a ranch in Fishtail/Absarokee near Billings, MT. The route from Cody area to Absarokee takes the teams through Red Lodge, MT which has been mentioned as the route they followed from Cody to Billings. Now here could be an alternate location for the golf course. It could be they have to play golf at the Red Lodge Mountain Resort which has a course which seems to be similar to the one in the previews.  This would also break up the trip from Cody to Absrokee.

7.  And when the Wheasels are stopped by the local law, the clouds and afternoon time seems to be similar to the golf course. So they may not be far from Red Lodge when they are stopped.

8.  At the pits stop the one remaining question arises?  Is CBS playing mind games or is this indeed another NonElimination leg? The Weasels are delayed but not enough to come in last.  My order of finish is: Linz, Weasels, Godlyone, and the Branded Bunch bringing up the rear.  The BBs are due to go; CBS has had them "X" already, but this may be another NEL and they are saved once again.

This is all complete speculation and there may not be a grain of truth in the scenario at all, but it reads like a nice story anyway.

Thanks GMan!  A very nice read.

Actually, I saw the Canon logo on the flash.  So no Kodak this time!

The latter seem to be having trouble, but in the end we have shot of them passing one of the teepees still under construction and one completed one, so the Branded ones are not last.

I am not sure if the 'completed' teepee is the Weasel's or the existing demonstration teepee.

Jennifer was abusing the anti-anxiety drug, Xanax, and drinking alcohol. Tracy Smith has spent time with this family over the past few months and brings us their story -- from how Jenny’s addiction grew to crisis level, to why they sought professional help to arrange an intervention, and how Jennifer’s recovery is going in Southern California rehab facility.

Or are they, perhaps, just covering their butt?

But if true, then it is the great big "X" in the sky for the Branden Bunch!!

And, then next week do we have just one extra long Leg 11 or do we have a Leg 11 in the first hour with a non-elimination in Toronto with a final leg 12 (As posted at one time on Wikipedia) ending up at Niagara Falls and then Davis State Park with one team striped of cash and backpacks (or in the case of the Weasels what little clothing they have left)

So is it traditional that the teams do their pitstop "confessional" in the order they come in?

Little late to the viewing here.  But that Bransen chat with the breezes picking up was clear doom speak.  They were saying things in the past tense like "that was a great thing that I learned from this race".

I think we will see them tomorrow on the Early Show.

The delay in announcing the appearance of the "latest castoff" from TAR may have been due to the fact that the BrandedBunch might have not wanted to make the trip to New York.  We'll know what happens in an hour or two.  Has AOL come up with a preview yet?

*mutters* it was a cheesy show

should have seen the Godlewski's boot coming , if it wern't for the spoiler ( which I admit some of you were right , probably the Bransens "Hot" with one of the Weavers *gag * ?) I would have had the Godlewski's picked to be booted next every episode ..lost big on my game picks but its not for money sooo...
Good thing is I'll save on asprins ,the sisters were frustrating ..I have 3 sisters and wonder if thats how we sound   :lolCX: , my poor mom !! another good thing we get to see the Bransens one more time and Wally kick someones ASS  =]/  , gosh he's crabby in the previews . Still I'm palcing them in 3rd spot ..leaving the Weavers ( bad guys  ) ~vs~  the Linz ( good guys ) for a race to the finish line ..now that Spoiler ( Linz winning ) I have to beleive with or without spoilers .

yeah, apart from my MW game picks, I'm glad the Godski sisters went rather than the Bransens.

I may be in the minority, but I'm still enjoying the race, even with the low-skill challenges (I keep imagining that if Carissa Gaghan or the Black boys were still in it, it would be a lot more fun).  That said, it will be good to get back to traditional racing, with airport and taxi crises, and yes, even the disgusting food tasks.

The Weavers really do bring it on themselves, don't they?  I mean, how hard would it have been for them to come out of their trailer and try to socialize with the other teams?  They're like fake martyrs, being persecuted by their own imaginations.

The preview next week, where Rolly and Tommy (?) have a scuffle, makes me think Ma Weaver's going to yell child abuse!  Kettle, meet Pot!

Post by: gingerman28 on December 07, 2005, 01:44:49 PM
Fellow TAR detectives, we did alright this time around.  We were just way off on the eliminated team; but I think we had in the back of our minds the fact that CBS had placed an "X" on the Branded Bunch (hence the name) and we had a reported spotting of a team with four girls at an ice cream vendor in Toronto.  So just maybe the Godlyones were sent along with the three other teams to Toronto to act as decoys. That would account for the four teams on the Air Canada flight.

But we had the events down cold and we had the itinerary and order of events pretty much as the script was written.  Was lucky to find the Red Lodge Mountain Golf Club at the last minute, and this made the rest of the trip complete.  So they did go on down toward Debois on route 287. After the overnight (not with RV connections it seems) it looks like hired men drove the teams on into the Wind River Indian Reservation (probably no trailers or campers allowed inside the reservation).  Once again one task (wagon wheels) took a lot less time than the teepee build.  Must have been frustrating for the Weasels and Godlyones  to see the Linzzips and the BrandedBunch race past them.

And my speculation that the Bransens and Weasels must have driven past the ranch at 15200 route 287 and then turned around at some point and driven back up the highway toward the north. We did see them turn left across the highway into the roadway leading through the 15200 gate.  When both the Linz and Godlewskis arrived they both spotted the ranch to their right and turned right directly into the road without crossing the highway.  Nice to know you can be right sometimes.

After the Detour, three of the teams took the long road down to Riverton on route 26/287 and then back north again on route 120 right into Cody. The sisters were not that far behind the Weasels at this point but made the really wrong (actually stupid) decision to drive back north on route 287 and back again through Yellowstone Park (remember it is summer and tourist time is at its height) where there is a speed limit of 35 or 40 mph and where they said this morning they got stuck in traffic.  This made them really late at the Cody Buffalo Bill gig. The other three teams overlapped eachother, but the sisters were there all by their lonesomes.

Still when the sisters arrived at the golf course in Red Lodge, the Weasels had only found one golf ball.  So if they had taken the longer but much faster road to Cody, they might have been ahead of the Weasels at some point (that is again if the stupid sisters could have stopped bickering and concentrated on looking for the balls)

Next week, since our spoiler from Billings was dead right about the location of the pit stop and the fact that the car would be the winner's extra prize (does Wally get to keep it and loan it out when one of his girls wants it?  And remember they each have a "life-time"  of free gas from BP and ARCO!) then it follows that the teams will be leaving after a traditional 12-hour pit stop in the early morning for the Billings, Montana airport.  Just guessing but through Minneapolis to Toronto?

Well, fellow detectives: especially Puddin, Chateau, Sups, and Peddler, this is my swan song for TAR8.  I will watch what you all come up with, but now my time must be concentrated in getting ready for our Christmas and New Years holiday trip to Germany, Austria, Slovakia and Hungary (if I don't spend more time on preperations I am afraid wifey will be taking some kind of drastic action - like steal my key board!) So while you all are glued to the screen as EP11 and/or EP12 brings the final three to the finish line in Davis State Park, I will be reclining in my Delta Airlines first class seat (yeah, I'm splurging all my frequent flyer miles as a Christmas gift to ourselves and just to use up as many miles as I can in case Delta doesn't make it out of bankruptcy!) sipping champagne and enjoying filet mignon!! (yeah, I wish).  In Budapest and Vienna I hope to vist sites from TAR3 and TAR6 and get my picture took at places you all might recognize.

So, I take this opportunity to wish you all a very merry Christmas and a happy and prosperous New Years. And I hope that the saddest days of your future will be no worse than the happiest days of your past.

I havent had a moment to watch the insider clips ( annoying charmin dancing bear  (:;) )
swiped from another board and i'll post some vidcaps when I get around to the insider clips

ETA I figured the url's out , now added  |#'

I Scream, You Scream:
While both teams are stopped by some road work on the way to Cody, the Bransens run back to the Linzes' trailer and get the ice cream sandwiches they'd picked up for them the previous night. Tommy manages not to make a joke about being the meat in a "Tonya sandwich."
http://video.cgi.cbs.com/vplayer/timeplay2.pl?type=ram&id=17765

What a Bummer: Linzes in the car on their roadblock mistake. Nothing you didn't get from the episode. Not even a joke about finding their balls.

http://video.cgi.cbs.com/vplayer/timeplay2.pl?type=ram&id=17766

Small Talk: As in, the Weavers making it with Buffalo Bill (eeeew, not like that) while they wait for the picture to be developed. The fact thet they're from Florida comes up and Linda says they were pioneers there, along with the Spanish and Mexicans. At least that first part is historically accurate, I think. Still an odd comment. I mean, he's not ACTUALLY Buffalo Bill, sweets.

http://video.cgi.cbs.com/vplayer/timeplay2.pl?type=ram&id=17767

Harder Than it Looks:
The G's in the car about the teepee task. Something about spacing the sticks and getting the spikes in. Proof that they can talk for a whole minute or so w/o bitching at each other.

http://video.cgi.cbs.com/vplayer/timeplay2.pl?type=ram&id=17768

Good News: Bransens on being excited to hear they made the final 3. Hadn't thought about it, but I guess that was news when Phil told them -- they couldn't know whether the leg was just another NEL. And given the sucky race design, can't blame 'em.

http://video.cgi.cbs.com/vplayer/timeplay2.pl?type=ram&id=17769

In A Different Light: Bransen girls on seeing their dad as "more of a person and not just as a father." They were surprised at how social he was at the pit stops -- but he says it was just because he'd been stuck in the car with them all day. He adds that he's finally learned how to tell the Tonyas apart (Lindsey = Green?). OK, maybe not.

http://video.cgi.cbs.com/vplayer/timeplay2.pl?type=ram&id=17770

Shaking Things Up: Linzes on feeling a bit bad about interrupting everybody's meals at the Buffalo Bill hotel. Oh come on, probably the most exciting thing ever to happen there that didn't involve shooting a gun. They say Bill "looked half drunk and horny at the bar."

http://video.cgi.cbs.com/vplayer/timeplay2.pl?type=ram&id=17771

Silver Lining: Linzes say it was "better" to be in the final 3 than to win the car. Dudes, those were not mutually exclusive -- the Bransens did both.

http://video.cgi.cbs.com/vplayer/timeplay2.pl?type=ram&id=17772

Still Standing:
Guess who? The Weav-o-crites say they are being underestimated by the other teams AND that they were yielded b/c they're a strong team. OK, just pick one delusion and stick with, m'kay? And Ma says: "I don't even understand how we're here" in the finals. You and me both, sister, you and me both.

http://video.cgi.cbs.com/vplayer/timeplay2.pl?type=ram&id=17773

The Godlewski Family's Parting Words: Post-philimination interview. Mostly nice stuff about appreciating what they saw on the race. But gotta give Tricia some grief for saying "I never knew there were . . . so many roads that lead somewhere." Yeah, roads tend to do that. Sharon adds her lesson: "There's a lot of good people out there" -- if only they were my sisters. (OK, not the last part.)

http://video.cgi.cbs.com/vplayer/timeplay2.pl?type=ram&id=17774

Breaking it Down: Best of the bunch. Separate interviews with each G sister. Sharon's all "When Christene's right the world needs to validate her," but she won't own up to it when she's wrong." Then Michelle say the exact same thing about Sharon. Hee. These clips should be sent directly to Dr. Phil.

http://video.cgi.cbs.com/vplayer/timeplay2.pl?type=ram&id=17775

Family Rules: Weaver mat chat. Rachel on each family member's contribution. Let's see, Rolly did every single task, Rebecca managed not to crash the car or get attacked by a fellow skunk, and Ma was the "mother chicken." (No, she really said that. "Hen" not being part of her extensive vocabulary.) Oh, and Phil says: "I've gotta give away $1 million . . . any reason why it shouldn't be your family?" [Horshack voice] Oooh ooh ooh ooh ooh, can I answer that one? Can I? Please? Can I? (OK, I know it should be "may".)

http://video.cgi.cbs.com/vplayer/timeplay2.pl?type=ram&id=17776

Fond Farewell: Godwhycouldn'ttheybeattheWeaversskis mat chat. They tell Phil "you didn't do your job" and that he "should have eliminated [the Weavers] last time" when they were so far behind. Sorry, girls, but it's you who didn't do YOUR job -- beat them to the mat and spare us from further toxic exposure
