CBS Unveils Fall Lineup

NEW YORK, May 18, 2005

(CBS) The CBS Television Network, after winning the 2004-2005 ratings race, is adding six new series to its lineup, including a science fiction adventure, a suspense thriller, a paranormal drama with an emotional twist, a Jerry Bruckheimer crime drama set in the suburbs and two ensemble comedies.

CBS will win the 2004-2005 season by nearly three million viewers ahead of second place ABC, the largest margin any network has held in 16 years. The network had more top 20 hits than any other network, and the top shows in several categories: drama ("CSI: Crime Scene Investigation") and news magazine ("60 Minutes"), plus the popular reality series "Amazing Race" and "Survivor" and the top comedy among returning shows, "Two And A Half Men."

The network is also #1 in adults 25-54 for the second consecutive year and is #1 in adults 18-49 with regularly scheduled programming for the first time in 30 years, CBS said in a press release, as well as in a virtual tie with Fox for first in adults 18-49 with all programming.

Overall, CBS will return 16 primetime programs, including 13 entertainment series, with the entire Thursday night line-up of "Survivor," "CSI: Crime Scene Investigation" and "Without A Trace" returning intact.

The returning shows are:
"The King Of Queens"

"Two And A Half Men"

"CSI: Miami"

"NCIS"

"The Amazing Race"

"Still Standing"

"Yes, Dear"

"CSI: NY"

"Survivor"

"CSI: Crime Scene Investigation"

"Without A Trace"

"Numb3rs"

"Cold Case"

"60 Minutes"

"48 Hours Mystery"

"CBS Sunday Movie"

"Crimetime Saturday"

For its Monday scheduling, CBS said it made two key moves following the departure of "Everybody Loves Raymond," which this week ended its nine-year run after winning 12 Emmy Awards. "The King Of Queens" returns in the 8:00 p.m. slot, where it previously dominated the time period, and "Two And A Half Men" moves into the "Raymond" slot at 9:00 p.m. Two new shows will enter the night's lineup, "How I Met Your Mother," between the two returning hits at 8:30 p.m., and "Out Of Practice," an ensemble comedy about a family of doctors, at 9:30 p.m. The night's #1 show in all key categories, "CSI: Miami," caps the evening.

On Tuesday, CBS is introducing one new show, the suburban crime drama "Close To Home" at 10:00 p.m.

One new drama is also being added to Wednesday, the suspense thriller "Criminal Minds" at 9:00 p.m.

"The newly modeled Friday night line-up introduces a diverse and compelling blend of dramas," CBS said, with the paranormal drama "Ghost Whisperer," followed by the alien invasion adventure "Threshold" and the returning "Numb3rs."

CBS also announced that it has ordered two new midseason series, "Everything I Know About Men," starring Jenna Elfman, and "The Unit," from acclaimed writer David Mamet and Shawn Ryan, executive producer of "The Shield."
