Now that makes it pretty sure that Ep 12 in Shanghai will be a non-elimination leg.  Phil says that four teams leave Shanghai on the penultamate leg and only three continue on to the final resting place.  Question is: if they count the start and finish in North America as being one of the four Continents, then the teams will NOT be going to Australia.  I believe they are talking about four continents that are "visited" which would not include No. America. This would explain the 13th leg going to Australia (posiblely through Melbourne to Tasmania - and we have a pretty good spoiler saying that CBS has "thanked" a local film crew there for helping them on the production of the "Sixth Edition" of TAR'),  This would not be out of line: give the teams a lot of traveling to do during the last two legs of the race. The teams would be cut down to three after Tasmania, and the final leg could take them up through Hawaii (which is a normal route from Australia to No. America) which would account for sighting of Kris and Jon on flight from Honolulu to California.  Do we have any solid data on where the race ends?  Back in Chicago or somewhere else?

Gingerman28,  I searched for flights from both Shanghai and Melbourne to Los Angeles, Chicago, and Boston.  None of the flights went through Hawaii.  I'm not saying that it couldn't happen, but there are too many direct flights to the U.S. mainland.   Some Shanghai flights do stop, but the stops are in Japan.  Some Melbourne flights stop. but they stop in Syndey.  If Kris and Jon were seen in Hawaii, then the race probably goes to Hawaii.

I'm really really glad to hear that it will be a close finish between the teams. Hope it can be something like the season 2 end. The season 4 finale was awfull 'cause the teams were so far behind Reichen/Chip(ok and because all three teams were boring (%#).

Yeah it was preety close.

I hope the two teams running for the finish line will be Kris/Jon and Aaron/Hayden. Out of the four remaining teams, these two are the most competitive and competant of them. Plus, i'll be happy if any of them win.

On the other hand if the race to the pit stop is between Adam/Rebecca and Fred/Kendra i'll puke. \[}

Well if it is a race between Kris /Jon and Hayden /aaron I think the winner will be H/A...they put alot of time in the Hayden was a cross country track star and how they both "smoked' john and Kris.   But who knows knowing you are about to get 1 million dollars maybe you can run faster.

Right, so maybe we're led to believe by the editors that they won't win!  When in fact, they might in spite of their bickering etc.  Watching them sure grates on my nerves! ]//{  Dysfunctional...just as bad as Victoria/Jonathan...only in different ways.  {^^}

Adam and Rebecca are still in the race because they are lucky and becuase of the bunchings during the race. Even when they are not bickering they usually do an awful leg. I think that in the final leg, competence will be more important than lucky. Let's hope.

I have updated a chart that I found on another website a few weeks ago. It shows just what Hi-Fi was saying, that Adam and Rebecca are very poor racers. The ONLY time they finished in first, was the week they took the Fast Forward. Otherwise, their highest finish has been fourth, and that was this last episode. They would have been last, if Lori and Bolo hadn't messed up on their clue at the Roadblock.

If Adam and Rebecca should luck up and win somehow, it will be an injustice in my opinion. They have been very poor racers the entire race, not to mention that they are the most dysfunctional team this side of Dic and Vic.

Here is the chart for anyone who is interested....

Exactly. They don't deserve to win. Rebecca did shine in a few moments (like in the soup roadblock) but in general, they are terrible racers.

I want Lena and Kristy to win.   {l{

I wonder if the old spoilers about Adam/Rebecca winning will turn out to be true?  I don't even dare hope Kris/Jon will win.  Really, when it's down to Final 3, it's more about luck than skill.  I'm preparing myself for Adam/Rebecca to win, but I think I'd rather they win than Freddy/Kendra at this point.

I think the teams that should win is Kris and Jon or Hayden and Aaron.  Kendra has surprised me more than once with her strength in some of the roadblocks/detours but her insensitive stuckup comments about people in poor countries wiped out all her marks with me.  And I agree with everyone that Adam and Rebecca are poor racers.  Rebecca is a good competitor but Adam is such a whiny baby.  If I could replay the wetsuit episode where he blew up like a big balloon over and over again it would make my day.   c/* c/*It had to be the funniest moment in Amazing Race history.  But I guess what would have been funnier would be that I could have thrown a dart at him, and like all good cartoons, Adam would have deflated and darted all over the water. c/* c/* |#'

Oh, hilarious image of Adam in the blown up wet suit exploding and buzzing around like in a cartoon!

The thing that made me laugh the most during this season was Aaron on those roller skis.  I watched it twice when it was first shown, then again in the Recrap.  Never get tired of that one!

Hey, any conspiracy theories about CBS showing Kris/Jon first in the credits?  Has that ever happened before (showing the winner first)?  Hide in plain sight?

Sorry to hijack this thread....

I think its going to come down to Hayden and Aaron, and Kris and Jon.  I think it can go wither way Kris and Jon can pass Hayden and Aaron again or Araon and Hayden can smoke Kris and Jon.  honestly i think Kris and Jon will be the victors with Hayden and Aaron taking a villian second, and Adam and Rebecca third.

And can someone post teh popularity of the teams all 11 for some reason i cant get to that part of the websight

That popularity poll shows the same thing that we have all been saying here. That we really do not like Adam and Rebecca that well, and do not want them to win.

So my question is ..... would cBS edit Adam and Rebecca so bad, that the majority of the viewers will be disappointed if they win? Obviously nothing can be done to make them better racers. But cBS, for the most part, has not shown either of them in a very good light. They have had their funny moments, but it has been mostly a negative edit for them.

Last season, the Bowling Moms were bad racers. But they were edited very favorably. If they had won, I believe most people would have been OK with it. This is not the case with Adam and Rebecca. Sure, we all have a good time laughing at just how much a momma's boy Adam is, and how much Rebecca has to mother him. But in the end, would we embrace them as winners? I don't think so, and that is why I don't think they will win.

At least I hope not!  ]:,

I know ..... Flo and Zach were not that well liked. And they (she) got a very negative edit. But I don't believe that many people liked them winning. Of course, cBS cannot help who wins. But they can help to make them look nicer.

Yeah, it's hard to know what "winner's editing" is.  I mean, Flo got the editing she deserved because she was such a shrew and a whiner.  The editors couldn't have made her look better.  Like they say, you can edit out but you can't edit in, what's there what happens (I know, sometimes context is missing but for the most part, we're shown what happens and we can extrapolate from there).  Colin/Christie sure looked like the winners, even with their unflattering editing (again, they showed us what happened when Colin was a jerk and Christie was a *itch).

So, Kris/Jon sure look like winners at this point, but I'm not counting on it.  Adam and Rebecca may be getting the Flo edit.

Well, i can't see other team winning besides Kris/Jon or Hayden/Aaron. Both teams are edited as the more competitive and are easily the best racers left.

The only team i can be sure will not win is Fred/Kendra.

Adam and Rebecca are teh only team that wont win.
1. If its a close race they are the slowest of all the teams
2. I think they have just gooten negative edit and they broke up Flo and Zack at least got we are still friends and he is a good friend for putting up with me edit, they have gotten we hate each other so i dont think they will win.

Also after Flo won AR took a huge ratings decline!! Along all season three ratings declined.

AR6 has goten into a bad posistion being that is Kris and Jon dont win rating will drop for AR, thats why AR really needs to spend time casting fun teams.  Season one only had like onoe team "low" in polularity.

And you know what i am a fan but AR deserves to have ratings droped for casting ugly americans and just down right bad people who dont deserve a million dollars.

1. F/K

4)Adam/Becca
3)Freddy/Kendra

What i think will happen:

4)Freddy/Kendra
3)Adam/Rebecca

1)Kris/Jon

Welcome S1mOne!

I think the first leg (first hour) of the finale begins in Shanghai, but we don't know yet where they go.  It would make sense to go to Australia from there, then to the U.S. (there was a spoiler about Jon/Kris either in Hawaii or changing planes in Hawaii).

Puddin, Thanks for the screen caps from the AOL previews.  Would it be possible for you to capture an image a fraction of a second before screen cap #29?  If I counted right, #29 is Kris running in a large city.  The city looks to me to be an Amercian one.  On the preview, there is a glimpse of a skyline just before Kris is shown running.  I saw a spoiler on some other board that Kris and Jon were seen on a plane from Hawaii to Chicago.  I'm thinking that maybe some TAR detective will be able to link up that skyline shot with Chicago.  Thanks.

Boy I'm really missing Banzai right now  /]}

I want to metion something before I forget..and this is my own opinion ..Aaron & Haydon do not make the final three.. the first thing I noticed ..they are not in any of the Hawaii shots as far as I can tell  ^&#

A couple of episodes ago, you did a clothing thingy. That helped me soooo much that episode, to figure out the order of events. So maybe we (you) could do it again.

And Pedaler ..... I believe I remember hearing something way back at the beginning, that the teams would be beginning AND ending the race in Chicago!!!

Banzai,  Another super job.  I asked about cap 301 on another board.  All flights from Shanghai to Honolulu stop in either Korea or Japan.  Another poster said that the language on the flight information board in the background was Japanese.  So the thinking is that Kendra and Freddy arrive in Japan and run to another gate to get a faster connection to Honolulu.

Puddin is right about the mountains in China.  If you google Huangshan locks, you'll learn where the roadblock in China is.

Kris/Jon: (2nd,1st,2nd,1st,4th,2nd,4th,3rd,1st,3rd); average = 2.3
Hayden/Aaron: (1,4,1,4,3,4,6,1,2,1) = 2.7
Adam/Rebecca: (7,6,5,6,6,5,1,5,4,4) = 3.9
Freddy/Kendra: (4,7,6,5,1,6,2,4,3,2) = 4.0

Corection
Adam and Rebecca= 4.9 not 3. 9!!

Wow, Freddy and Kendra and Kris and Jon have made it to the finals for sure. I believe that the taxi that Hayden and Aaron got soo mad at, must have done something really really wrong and probably $crewed up the whole thing for them, and adam and rebecca were able to get through. Lucky them. The other two teams, mentioned above, run for the million. I believe the winner will be...Kris&JOn, just because they are stronger but look who knows, the race has a lot of dark corners, hehehe, anything can happen, anyone can win! Kris and Jon were constantly ood racers and always got good places, but look what happened to them this episode, they $crewed up with the taxi and got second last!!!! But that was just a once in a lifetime thing, they are definitely going to make it to the top and win it all! (sorry Hayden and Aaron!) ]#* ]#*

Hayden and Aaron , excellent, magnificent, spectacular work! |#'

Love you!!!!! ]**]

Okay, i can see that now.
I'm so pissed. This should be a race between Kris/Jon and Hayden/Aaron, clearly the best racers of this season. If Adam/Rebecca win, i will stop watching this show, because the only reason they are still in the race is the excessive bunching of this season. Plus, what's the use of a yield if it's a non-elimination leg?? I'm really, really angry now.

heee. ok. I just didn't know if it was ok to post TAR 6 spoilers yet or not.

Well, my friend, E, just flew back from Hawaii. I don't know what day, but she was still there on Tuesday (9/7) because she didn't attend a board meeting for our dog club. She told me tonite that she was on a plane from Hawaii to Chicago and saw a team on the plane. She said it was a young couple (guy/girl) and really cute...they kept wanting the guy to put his bags up in the stowaway compartment over and over again. Their clue was directing them to Buckingham Fountain in Chicago. Apparently, they were only allowed to ask E certain questions that were printed on the clue, like "what is the fastest way to get to the fountain? train?" I thought that was pretty interesting....limits how much help they can get from others.

I've been a lurker but I decided to "come out".   *8/

I totally agree that it should be between K/J and H/A for the final two when considering consistency.

Luck does factor into this. For example, H/A wouldn't even be competing right now if they hadn't got lucky to be last on a Non-Elim round.  (same goes for R/A)

Between the bunching up and the luck of the draw (taxi drivers and so forth)...

Hell... I'm just going to say it... FREDDY/KENDUH better not win!!!

I also have my resevations that the previews would tell us who the last three teams are (no pics of H/A in Hawaii).

Thanks for all the vid caps.  I can't believe that Adam and Rebecca are in the F3.  What happened to Hayden and Aaron?  I don't think A/R will win and they don't deserve it either.  Go Kris and Jon.  |5| })}  I want the nice couple to win and they deserve it.

Ok ..... I'm gonna attempt to do a clothing comparison for the final leg.

(http://img132.exs.cx/img132/7060/61ky.jpg) The racers start their day in China. This is an obvious bunching point, because we see the 1st place Hayden (wearing a peach tank top) and the last place Rebecca (wearing a black tank top).

All four teams ride in a cable car up a mountain.
Kris (white tank) and Jon (grey tee shirt)

Freddy (black tee) and Kendra (pink tank)

Adam and Rebecca (both wearing black tanks)

Aaron (navy tee) and Hayden (peach tank)

Once on top, the teams participate in the Roadblock. Kendra (pink tank)

Rebecca (black tank) with Adam "watching" in background, one of the reasons I believe this is the Roadblock.

But if it is, what is this a picture of? Could Adam be working one of the locks also?

Hayden (peach tank)

Kris (puts on a greyish tee)

I do not believe we are shown any Detour pics. Some additional photos...

Aaron (navy tee) and Hayden (peach tank) on bus
(http://img132.exs.cx/img132/9191/103ht.jpg)

Aaron (navy tee) and Hayden (peach tank) in taxi
(http://img83.exs.cx/img83/4857/tar61148ww.jpg)

Aaron (navy tee) argues with taxi driver
(http://img83.exs.cx/img83/6060/tar61220pb.jpg)

Aaron (navy tee) showing anger, Hayden watches (peach tank)

Aaron (navy) and Hayden (peach) running towards pitstop
(http://img132.exs.cx/img132/4756/547cv.jpg)

Unfortunately for Hayden and Aaron, their trip around the world stops here. They are NEVER shown wearing anything except a navy tee shirt (him) and a peach tank top (her) and are not shown in any of the shots after leaving China. So I believe they are eliminated.

The next day, Freddy(blue tee) and Kendra (purple tank) making reservations at airport
(http://img132.exs.cx/img132/9947/75sj.jpg)

Another airport pic, but Kendra is wearing a black 3/4 lenght shirt
(http://img132.exs.cx/img132/4953/121jm.jpg)

After having flown to Hawaii, teams possibly performing some task to get their next clue
Freddy(blue) and Kendra(purple) Notice the palm trees in background  Edited to add that I see now that Kendra top is styled different than the airport pic.

Adam(black tank) and Rebecca(Light blue tank)

Teams then do skydiving Roadblock ... Adam
(http://img132.exs.cx/img132/4492/354yu.jpg)

Jon(white shorts)

Freddy(blue tee)

Possible Detour .... Jon(black tee and visor) and Kris(halter) woowoo
(http://img78.exs.cx/img78/1629/leg20095qm.jpg)

And then run for the finish line...
Adam(black) and Rebecca (Lt blue)

Jon(black) and Kris (now in greyish tee)

Whew! This is a lot of work! I admire you guys who do this regularily!  (^.#

OK everyone ..... start tearing it to pieces!!!  :)*

From the details ~
four teams start off in Shanghai in the penulitimate leg of the race , which ends with one duo being eliminated . The remaining pairs ultimately head back to the US for the final sprint of the finish

never , what I read was that Fred was seen clapping and he was standing next to Hera ..if its true , either he is First and clapping for the incoming teams or second and clapping for the last team .

Thanks for the clothing analysis, tanbuns.  I suspect you're right about H/A eliminated at F4.

If Freddy is standing next to Hera at the finish line, would CBS release a preview showing the winners?  I'm still hoping for a Kris/Jon win.  Did anyone determine if the double skyscrapers is in Chicago?

Oh, I also wanted to suggest that the pic of Adam during the lock Roadblock is just him leaning against something in frustration (we were shown that Rebecca has trouble with the locks).

a Chicagoan (Teeanday) at Sucks said that this is Lincoln Park about 3 miles north of the Buckingham Fountain.

Well if thats Adam and Rebecca we can say they dont win if that is teh finsih line.
1. It is not close at all there is not even another cab in the parking lot
2. i dont think they would show the winners running to the finish line

And It was Aaron they gor Fred and Aaron mixed up.  Anyone know if where they were clapping looks that the road Adam and Becca are running on??

uh, so what's the detour in China?  *(^

edit: but then again, I heard @ TWoP, the fiilming permit is for the Fountain and not really that park. I'm lost now  *(^

about the lock task, I was thinking they should go for brand new locks. But then again, TAR might throw in a few used locks. Oh well, there goes my strategy.
If Hayden breaks her keys, then she has to get a new one and restart from scratch again. She's behind now.

I agree that the Keys are the Roadblock and Adam is just looking for something in his backpack..whatever ..
the detour ..In China ..no idea banzai , i'm looking for something and will let you know . It has to be something in Xian I would think ..back to google ..lol

I wonder were these photos fit in  *(^ they Jon runs by so fast (blurrrr) ..clue in hand..no backpack

I too think that it's really stupid to let us know who the final 3 are. CBS did a bad job with the previews. That's why a really small part of me thinks it's misdirection, and A/H will win... I can't see one more entire leg in China. Maybe they go to Hawai in this leg(the one before the last) and that task with the boats occur there. we just not see H/A doing it....
What do you guys think?  well, i'm probably wrong.

Hey Hi-Fi, supposedly it was shown during a commercial in Canada. But I read where other people from Canada say they haven't seen it.

Let's say that Freddy/Kendra do win the race. Wouldn't they still be standing with Phil when the 2nd and 3rd place teams show up, not standing next to Hera and the other eliminated racers clapping.

I am surprised any of the teams woudl be next to Hera...they are usually in the order they finish so Hera should not be next to the 4th place team.  But at the end they all come up and hug and are still clapping.  The 1, 2, and 3 stand up by Phil

It has been found that flight NH7058 flies from Osaka to Honolulu.  I am checking schedules further since rounting through Osaka may be the best place to connect between Shanghai and Honolulu. In any case, I do not think anything happens in Japan, it is just a stopover on the way to Honolulu

Banzai,  Great screen caps.  The sky diving looks to be the north shore of Oahu http://images.google.com/images?hl=en&lr=&q=+north+shore+sky+diving&btnG=Search

Dillingham Field has at least two sky diving companies.  I think the exact location of the paddling is going to be difficult.

Some more information.  The best connections (no direct flights) from Shanghai to Honolulu are either through Tokyo or Osaka. There are flights leaving Shanghai on All Nippon Airways (NH) at 12:50PM arriving in Osaka at 3:55Pm connectings with a flight NH7058 (but operated by United Airlines (UA) leaving at 6:30PM (18:30) arriving in Honolulu at 7:00AM the same day (don't forget that you will be crossing the International Date Line so that a flight leaving Wednesday evening at 6:30PM arrives in Honolulu at 7:00AM Wednesday!) There are other flights to Osaka on Japan Airlines and Thai Airlines. So maybe Freddy and Kendra were not able to book straight through from Shanghai and are now trying to get on the earlier flight NH7058. There are also conncecting flights through Tokyo and two of those flights also arrive in Honolulu at 7:00AM.  So it looks like however the three remaining teams fly to Honolulu they all will be arriving at the same time early in the morning.

More Information.  Looking up the "Love Locks" in China, Information on Google places the location of these unique tokens of "love" on a mountain in HUANGSHAN (OR HANGCHOW) China.  This location is pictured in one article and the scene and background are a match for the ones shown on AOL. To reach the Love Locks you must first travel up by gondola cable car (you can walk is you so desire and have all day to do it!) then climb a very steep stairway (AOL shot matches one in the article).  To reach Huangshan you can travel by bus, long and rough roads, or take an overnight sleeper train (about 10 hours with stops).  The distance from Shanghai to Huangshan is about 250 miles. We have no pictures of airports or trainstations so it is possible that they even went by taxi!  And it looks like the four teams are all there together and are waiting for the gates to the cable car to open early in the morning.

Welcome, ckoh!! Hope you saty with us!

Guys, i'll post something someone posted in amazingracesucks by canadafan:

About the next pit stop. Maybe CBS is trying to make us think that it's in China because the people in that clip (#28) look like asian. So as we do not have pics of A/H in Hawaii, we all beleive they are toasted. Don't you think this is too easy?
But let's not forget that there's a "Chinatown" also in Honolulu, Hawaii. So what if...the 4 teams did some tasks in China before leaving for Hawaii where the pit stop really is. CBS may deliberately not showing us pics of A/H just to let us think they have been eliminated in China. They could easily have a roadblock & detour in Hawaii before arriving at their pit stop (#28) where one team (all guesses are good) is finally eliminated. If it's true, A/H could be in the final 3. The next morning they fly from Hawaii to their final destination in USA.

Do you guys think that's possible?

Outstanding job, Banzai.  The same fencing and the similar background look to make that a match.  I think it is the detour.

If one continues on HI 61, you'll come to Kailua.  Kaelepulu stream/canal/pond which empties into the ocean at Kailua looks very similar to the waterway that A/R and F/K are paddling on.  Unfortunately, I can't find an exact match.  Maybe some one else will be more successful.

Puddin, I saw on Sucks that someone thought that they read a sign during the lock roadblock that said Hua instead of Huang.  Hua Shan also has locks, a cable car, and white limestone mountains.  If the race goes to Xi'an, then Hua Shan would be a more logical destination.  Also, Xi'an has a market similar to the one that is shown in the screen caps http://images.google.com/imgres?imgurl=http://www.fu.org/jkl/anabasis/china/xian/goingtomarket.jpg&imgrefurl=http://www.fu.org/jkl/anabasis/china/xian.html&h=330&w=440&sz=44&tbnid=YClL34SUfKkJ:&tbnh=92&tbnw=123&start=36&prev=/images%3Fq%3Dxi%2527an%2Bmarket%26start%3D20%26hl%3Den%26lr%3D%26sa%3DN.  (look towards the bottom of the page)

Way out there theory ..what if the detour( one of them)  in China is to get produce to the market ?
Farmers and resellers still mainly use bicycle carts to bring their produce into the free market centers.  Even today, there are virtually no motorized vehicles performing this function.  I was surprised to see that each city has it own unique way of modifying a standard 2-wheel bicycle to transform it into a market cart. Follow the route from( Beijing to Mudanjiang , just as an example) to see how much the designs differ from city to city:

Hey Pedaler and banzai..I got lucky .. I was searching Xian rivers and this turned up  Xian Market  (http://www.gate1travel.com/Destinations/chijap/images/xianilenemarket.jpg)

Bonjour puddin, banzai, Pedaler et toutes,

You all deserve medals for your discoveries.  Maybe you already figured this out:
This finale city shot
(http://img78.exs.cx/my.php?loc=img78&image=leg20215lq.jpg) (screen cap number 319 if it does not show here)
shows Park Tower  (http://www.emporis.com/en/wm/bu/?id=116666) in Chicago’s Magnificent Mile district.
One Magnificent Mile  (http://www.emporis.com/en/wm/bu/?id=117208) is also shown.

Also, I bet teams go to see the Terra Cotta Army  (http://www.anniebees.com/China/China_42.htm) at Xian.  It is of significant cultural and historical importance are TAR usually manages to hit those kinds of attractions (except for TAR4 in Marseille when they could have come here! (http://www.cogito.fr/marseill/chatif.htm) but did not).

Adding more:
Image #305 of F&K has the landform Diamond Head  (http://volcano.und.nodak.edu/vwdocs/volc_images/north_america/hawaii/diahead.html) in the background behind Kendra.  The city they are overlooking is Honolulu. You can see it better in #427.

Banzai,  You're doing some incredible stuff.

just saw the sunday promo. It's the same. No luck puddin.
I'm stuck. I'm still confused with Hua & Huang. Oh well!

Here's some thoughts.  In screen cap 202 by S1m0ne, Freddy and Kendra are arguing outside an airport in what appears to be the dead of night.  Based on the type of lattice type windows in the background, it looks to be Pu Dong airport in Shanghai.

Now, the last leg ended in the afternoon so the next leg will begin early in the morning.  Well, this site http://www.huangshantour.com/english/type.asp?typeID=25 shows that the only flight leaves Shanghai at 9pm so I don't think that F/K are at the airport for that flight.  That web site also says that the express train leaves Shanghai at 10pm and doesn't arrive until the next morning at 8:55am.  I don't see a long train trip happening either.  Beacuse of these transportation limitations, I don't think the race goes to Huang Shan.

Based on the next leg starting early in the morning, I think a flight to Xi'an is much more feasible.  I went to expedia.com and saw a 8:45am flight from Shanghai (PVG) to Xi'an (XIY).  Since Hua Shan is close to Xi'an and Puddin has found images to match Xi'an screen caps, I would guess that Hua Shan is the correct destination.

Of course, as you know, I could be all wrong.

The more I look at it the more I believe that the teams fly on the 8:00AM China Eastern flight 2152 from Shaghai to Xi'an. The flight takes 2 hours and 10 minutes to cover the 1509 km distance.  I found this picture of the West Peak of the Haushan Mountain which is 75 miles east of Xi'an.  It looks very much like the mountain behind Rebecca in AOL frame #43 and the sign these people are standing behind looks very much like the one seen behind Adam as he looks for something in his backpack.  I'm not good enough to transfer the picture here, but maybe someone else can.  It sure looks like a match to me.

Great work!!! You guys rock!!

So why the hell K/J picked the detour task that seems to be the "could take a long while"task??? They should do the boat thing!! Always pick the "could finhish quick" one!! I'm really beginning to think that in the end it will be a race for F/K and A/R, just the two teams i could care less...what do you guys think??

thanks puddin  (that emoticon is hilarious, why have I not noticed it before?!)   I didn't know if the betting spoiler was for real.  I've done some googling but haven't been able to find a reference to it.  It's probably buried somewhere in Sucks, but I'm too lazy to go over there to look.

Then there was that elimination list which turned out to be wrong, except for the fact that 3 of the 4 teams it said would be in the final 4 are there.

This comes from a tabloid I picked up in the grocery store, either the Star or Enquirer, I'm not sure which. I opened the cover and on page 2, there is an article that says one of those off-shore betting sites closed because suddenly a lot of people from one of the teams' home towns started betting the maximum on that team.

The alleged heavily bet team (and supposed winner): Freddie and Kendra.

Noooooooooooo!!!!!!!!!!

As I said, it was in a tabloid so take it with a grain of salt, but I wasn't looking for spoilers, the article was just right there on the page when I opened the magazine.

ONE LAST TIME: WHAT WE KNOW AND WHAT WE DO NOT KNOW -

There has been a lot of information floating around out there and it is time to try to get it down into some kind of order. A lot of things are missing and I'm including some calculated guesses.  So to start:

The teams all arrive in mid-afternoon at the Shanghai pit stop so once again our four remaining teams will be leaving the hotel in the dead of night.  Aaron and Hayden are going to start finding money before they can get going, and I believe they have learned from previous non-elimination doings to start finding money before they bunk down for the night.  Due to plane schedules, etc. it looks like the first task will be to get to the Shanghai Airport.  There are two of them, but the one they want is the one for domestic flights (SHA) since they will be headed to the ancient capital city of Xi'an. There are not too many flights and the first one on China Eastern Airlines leaves at 8:00AM.  It looks like there will be enough time for all of the teams to make this flight. The distance to Xi'an from Shanghai is about 1000 miles so the only way to reach it in a reasonable time is by air.  There is a train connection but this takes some 22 hours! And the bus is even longer!! Don't even think about a taxi. So the shot of Aaron and Hayden by the window of a moving train, must be somewhere else..

Upon arriving in Xi'an it is not clear whether they first must visit the Museum of the Terra Cota Warriors (the most famous tourist spot in town). We have a shot of the teams (including Aaron and Hayden, more about them later) waiting for a gate to be opened.  No idea when the museum opens, but this could be another bunching up point (looks like it)Here they may have a route marker task to do, like counting the number of soldiers, or horses in a particular area. But whatever the task, they probably will not be able to run around the terra cota figures since they are a National Treasure and very much protected.  When correct they get the DETOUR which has to do with locating something in the Hawkers Market outside the museum. We have Jon racing by the umbrella covered stalls.  Outside of that we have no idea what the two detour tasks are.

When the Detour is completed, they are instructed to take a train to the village of Haushan about 75 miles east of Xi'an. Or they may go by cab or bus. Just speculation here, but they do go to Mount Haushan or Flower Mountain (and we have positive identification that it is Mount Haushan and NOT Mount Huangshan) to locate and unlock some particular lock which can be found on the trail near the top of the North (or as one source noted the West Peak) of the mountain. From the village of Haushan a minibus will take them to the cable car station for a gondola ride up to a steep staircase carved into the side of the limestone mountain. We have shots of one couple on the bus (Aaron and Hayden?) waiting to start. Others are not seen so may be ahead or behind.

We have shots of all four teams in gondolas (each gondola can carry up to six people, so they probably are in different gondolas along with their camera people) going up the mountain (about a 4 minute ride). Then they must walk up to the top and find the "love locks". With a key they must try to open one particular lock.  This is the ROADBLOCK and it looks like Rebecca, Kris, Hayden and Kendra must do this one. It is difficult and all four teams complain about how hard it is to find the right lock.  Eventually at least three teams find the correct lock and are given the clue to the pit stop. Hayden, unfortuneately breaks her key. At this point we do not know what happens, but whatever does happen puts them behind the others.

The pit stop could be back in Xi'an, or locally in Haushan. But based on what will happen on the next day, they may very well return to Xi'an to some famous spot such as the Drum Tower or some particular Temple. We do not know, but we do have a final shot of Aaron and Hayden, hand in hand, without their backpacks running across a square toward what we think is the pit stop, which looks like it may be the entrance of a temple or other landmark.  Unfortuneately for them it looks like they are the next team eliminated leaving the three teams of Jon and Kris, Adam and Rebecca, and Freddy and Kendra to make it home in the second hour to Chicago via Hawaii.

The next day, probably again everyone bunched up leaving in the dead of night for the Xi'an airport.  We now may be getting some free lancing on making their way to Honolulu the next stop toward home.  There is a direct connection from Xi'an to Honolulu via Tokyo which arrives in Honolulu that morning (remember we are crossing the International Date Line so we arrive the same day we leave)at 9:45AM. But the quicker route is to take the 8:20AM, 9:35AM or 10:10 flight to Shanghai. Two flights then must go from SHA to the PVG terminal; the 10:10 flight goes directly into PVG. From here they can either go to HNL via KIX (Osaka, Japan) or NRT (Tokyo, Japan). The quickest flight is via Osaka and we do see Freddy and Kendra talking their way onto All Nippon Airways flight NH7058 (actually operated by one of TAR sponsors United Airlines.)

The next stop is Honolulu. Flight NH7058 arrives at 7:00AM. And it looks like the first task will be totravel from the International Airport to the lookout on top of Diamond Head. Here they get instructions to go  to a smaller regional airport and meet up with the sky diving teams. This is the ROADBLOCK. We have shots of Jon, Adam, and Freddy taking the dive out of an old DC3 (they still are flying) over the ocean off the coast of Oahu; one shot looks like Diamond Head down there below them. And it is not clear whether all three teams go up at one time; the plane looks big enough this time instead of the last time the sky diving stunt was done when only one team could go up at a time.

Once on the ground, it is not clear exactly what they have to do next; we have a scene of Jon wading through the surf, and this must have been pre-planned since we have a shot of his legs going by from an underwater camera (this has to be in place in advance, you can't just push your camera underwater and expect it to work!).

Somewhere they get the clue for the DETOUR (perhaps after wading out to some marker) and this seems clearly to be either OUTRIGGER or OUTFITTER. In outrigger they must row an outrigger canoe over some distance to do some physically demanding task. In Outfitter, they must search through racks (at a dry cleaners??) to find a particular matching Hawaiian shirt. One task is physical (as usual) but quicker; the other task is less strenuous (as usual) but can be time consuming.

It looks like Adam and Rebecca and Freddy and Kendra opt to do the outrigger; while Jon and Kris are stuck trying to find the particular Hawaiian shirt.  At the end of their task,-- we have shots of Adam and Rebecca with the yellow route marker envelope in her hand - if this were the final run to the final pit stop, I don't think she would still be clutching that route instruction in here hand, so I think this is at the end of the outrigger task -- they are instructed to go to the airport and catch a flight to CHICAGO THE FINAL PIT STOP and One Million Big Ones await them.

In all of the scenes so far in Hawaii there have been no shots of Aaron and Hayden. And since we have been told by CBS that one team is eliminated in the first hour in China, the team eliminated must be Aaron and Hayden. Sorry people, but one team has to come in Fourth.

It looks like there are two good ways to get to Chicago and wouldn't you know by coincidence these two flights are on American Airlines and United Airlines (two TAR sponsors, of course). United Flight 2 leaves at 4:25PM; American flight 72 leaves at 4:35.  Perhaps the first team to arrive at the airport is Freddy and Kendra and they get on the United Flight; Adam and Rebecca and Jon and Kris arrive later and get on the American Flight.

Both flights arrive early in the morning in Chicago; we have shots of the Chicago skyline at dawn and a shot of a 747 landing at ORD as the sun starts to come up. United was scheduled to arrive at 5:15AM and American to arrive at 5:48AM. Sunrise in the first week of September in Chicago is at 6:20AM. So these could be matching shots with the plane landing being the American flight.

We have shot of Freddy and Kendra racing out of United's gate C18a. United uses Terminal One and gates C; American uses Terminal Three on the other side of the building and gates K. We also have a very early spoiler saying that a person saw a "very cute young team" on the plane with cameraperson, etc. But only one team. So we must assume that Freddy and Kendra may have a short lead over Adam and Rebecca and Jon and Kris.

Next we see Freddy and Kendra racing up out of a subway station in downtown Chicago; it is just getting light out now. Later we see Kris and Jon running around some other corner, but I don't think we have a shot of Adam and Rebecca. In any case everyone seems to have ditched their backpacks by now; who needs that stuff when one million smack-a-roos are at stake.

Who wins!! Do they go directly to the spot from which they started Buckingham Fountain? Or do they have to do something else first which has been the usual practice in the past?

But for what it is worth here are my picks:

Fourth: Aaron and Hayden (we lost them in China)

Third; Kris and Jon (they seem at lost in Chicago and not clearly going anywhere fast)

Second: Adam and Rebecca (they race hard at the end but are beat out by)

First: Freddy and Kendra!! Perhaps they had the most to learn on this trip, and the editing became more positive during the later stages of the race.

The problem I have with the resume is that the person who saw the teams on the UA plane to Chicago later identified the team as Jon & Kris (am I inventing this up?). The spoilers says they were alone on that flight, but maybe they weren't.  Freddy & Kendra don't look at all like Kris & Jon, so it would be impossible someone to mistake one for another.

That means Kris & Jon are in front or behind the other 2 teams, or somebody missed the other teams. If your saying F&K are on the UA flight from the preview, that would mean that at least F&K and K&J were on the same flight (if the spoliler missed a team, it can miss two, maybe the cameramen from the other teams were not sitting close to them (which would make them harder to spot).

The other direct flight on the average arrives behind the spoiler flight (from 0-45 min) depending on the day. That would mean there would be no run to the pitstop if at least two teams were not on the same plane (which seams to be the case K&J + F&K).

Even if K&J chose the slower task in Hawai, I'd still find it hard that the powers that be would have not had a kind of aiport bunching by insuring that that everybody should normally be able to get on the quickest flight to the destination, unless they got lost.

Chip & Kim could easily make the original direct Dallas flight, even if they were much slower on the detour.

The drive to and from the sky diving roadblock would allow someone to get lost.

Anyway, all of this to say that with the two direct flights coming in at between 0-40 min interval (depending on the day), getting off the plane, transportation, the possibility of another task in Chicago (The person that saw K&J on the plane said that K&J were going to buckinham fountain, but that doesn't mean it's the finish line, there was an intermediate task in Dallas).  I think we can't be absolutely sure of the arrival with what we see in the preview.

Somebody said at sucks that A&R from the AOL preview didn't look like they were running near Buckinham fountain (it looked like Lincolln Park, further north).

The editing though seams to point to a close A&R and F&K finish. My feeling is that with all the little people cracks, and put downs by F&K  and the we haven't shown our best lines from A&R (many of thems), the end will be an A&R victory.

I want A&R to win... I'm still not sure it's them... but it's looking good, I'll just have to wait.

Seacrest: There you have it, America. Hayden and Aaron win the race; Freddy and Kendra take second, Kris and Jon in third, with Adam and Rebecca coming in fourth. That’s it for this season of The Amazing Race – Seacrest out.

Author’s note: That’s the way the American Idol judges see it. But Steve and Dave have slightly different opinions. Besides which, the more picks we make, the better the chance we have of getting one right.

Idol Judges        Steve                     Dave
Hayden/Aaron    Hayden/Aaron         Kris/Jon
Freddy/Kendra   Kris/Jon                  Adam/Rebecca
Kris/Jon            Adam/Rebecca         Hayden/Aaron
Adam/Rebecca  Freddy/Kendra          Freddy/Kendra

got this from TARflies!  pretty interesting! |5|

Yes, welcome foghillcafe!

In terms of the flights, it would make sense that if Kris/Jon are alone on a flight to Chicago, it might be the later flight, allowing F/K and A/R to race each other to the finish line.

I'd prefer A/R to beat F/K, if only because F/K think they're so superior.

I hate both teams, rmax. But since Adam is one of the most irritating people ever, i think F/DisrespectfulK should beat him and that poor girl he make his girlfriend.

The Spoiler was K&J on the UA flight.

My feeling is that they're all on that flight.

That's what the producers want, and barring stupidity, that's what they'll get.

The AA flight makes no sense unless the UA flight is booked solid (They leave very close to each other).

So, it will come down to a Chicago scramble. and hopefully a  |#'  Adam & Rebecca victory.

One thing that is also interesting. The Frame we have of Adam & Rebecca running with the parked cars behind them is filmed with a long lenses from pretty far out. Their crew are nowhere to be seen. That means they're being filmed by the area cameramen at a task or pitstop. Whatever it is, it's on the other side of the street just in front of them. My feeling is that it's the final pitstop.

That doesn't mean they win, but the way they are running, they still think they've got a chance just steps from the pitstop.

Someone on another board commented that A/R didn't look like they were running that hard, indicating that they weren't racing to beat someone to that mat.  If that's the case it  means one of  two things:

1. They are far enough ahead of F/K not to have to rush to the winner's mat.
2. They already see F/K at the mat, so there's no need to rush to the winner's mat.

I hope for #1 to be true.

Yeah, if they saw F*K there, would they be running at all, or just jogging or walking (like Brandon & Nicole). Even Colin & Christie weren't  really running when they came to the pitstop.

They are definitively running, so either they don't know their position, or they know they're not third (the second team gets a substantial prize, so there is still an incentive to run).

One thing also, we don't know how long they've been running. If you've been going at it for a mile, well your not going to be running  very fast. By the way, Freddie and Kendra are pretty poor runner from what I saw in Ethiopia.

I think that if it comes to a long run, A&R have a large advantage over F&K and a slight advantage over Kris & Jon.

Just noticed something.. {l{ The Voice over for TAR6 says 72,ooo miles
TAR5
After 72,000 miles around the globe, married parents Chip & Kim landed in Dallas, Texas to win THE AMAZING RACE. Starting in the Philippines, Teams struggled in a grueling climb up a sheer limestone cliff that resulted in the elimination of intrepid bowling moms Linda & Karen. The final three Teams, led by dating couple Colin & Christie, made their way to frigid Canada, where they took a thrilling luge ride before heading to Dallas. A fog bank brought good fortune for Chip & Kim, who snagged....

Question:  If Adam and Rebecca are running to the final pit stop at the Buckingham Fountain in Chicago would Rebecca still have that Route Information envelope in her hand?  I think this is after they have finished the Outrigger detour and have just got the clue that tells them to get their butts to the airport and catch a plane to Chicago.

If they were on American, they are all but screwed... Only a few times does that flight come close to the United one.

On sunday the 12th, there's 24 minutes difference. A lifetime.

So, unless A&R are on the united flight. The prize goes to F&K.

If not, well we'll have the F&K vs A&R showdown.
