This thread is the WORKZONE of our spoilers.
This is where ALL the spoiler speculation/discussion of the TAR AUS 4 race goes, NOT in the LIVE thread. It is where we try to thrash out what the LIVE sightings mean.
(If the start is pre-announced LIVE, then we will use that thread for all sightings Start to Airport Departure.)
ALL Discussion of the LIVE Sightings and comments on them go here!
As always, per RFF's practices, we do not spoil the start location (if known) or any non-revealed teams until it is believed that the teams are safely underway. We would never want to put a team in jeopardy or cause them distress or interfere with the actual running of the race. Info on future legs may also occasionally be protected for those reasons. But if you have info to share beforehand, we would love to know, so please feel free to PM or email me! Spoilers are treasured!
This thread will be opened once the race is beginning.

Oh Shoot, maybe we missed the start.
Hanoi?? Can someone help with this translation?

Scott Morrison (Australian Prime Minister) is currently in Hanoi. Could this have anything to do with this?
Beau was also posting on his Instagram AND his Instagram story at around 8pm last night... we may not have started yet!
-
Beau can post whenever/wherever. His posting does not reflect on the TAR current status.

So leg 1 is South Korea and leg 2 Hanoi?
-
The Seoul sighting was posted at 8:59pm AEST time on Wed 21/08 - video clearly shows teams racing in the daytime.
Possible timeline could be:
Tuesday 20/08 - Start Line in Australia - overnight flight to Seoul.
Wednesday 21/08 - Leg 1 in Seoul & daytime sighting at N Seoul Tower
Thurs 22/08 - Arrive in Hanoi late evening & evening sighting at Hanoi Cathedral
-
Omg have we missed 2 legs already?! :'(
-
Looks like it :o
-
In that video posted by aussieamazingracer, that orange team most certainly is Tom Wilkinson & Tyler Roos!
The man on the right (in the video), is almost certainly Tyler and you can get a good image of the side of his face, if you look very closely!
Great work guys!!!

Do you have screenshot of FF team in hijabs from that instagram story you mentioned, GeorgiaPeach?

Ok, thanks!
Also is there way how to find out that instagram post which is videorecorded on reddit? Because it looks liked he shared more sightings on his instagram, but we see only 2 in that video on reddit. He also posted some commentary which is cut on that screen...
Of course, we could directly contact that guy on reddit and ask him for more info but he doesn't seem very active... His last activity before this TAR post was month ago.
Edit: I found that instagram account(it hasonly 9 posts), but it's private. I asked for following, so we will see...
-
Its been close to 24 hours since the Hanoi sighting so chances are good they are on the move again or already at next destination.
All hands on deck for searching for our next sighting! :hfive:
-
Do we have 2 vietnam legs or just 1?
-
So nice to see sightings.... :ghug:...
-
I wonder if Ninh Bing is LEG 2 or 3? What do you guys think?
-
I wonder if Ninh Bing is LEG 2 or 3? What do you guys think?
Teams were spotted in Hanoi Thursday night, likely encountered an HoO, and traveled to Ninh Binh the next morning on Friday. The sighting of the grey team was posted at 4PM local time on 8/23, so I would say Leg 2.
-
One of the male from black MM has greyish hair, so I guess he is older. Maybe father & son?
-
Leg 3's probably over and done by now? :(
-
The sighting of the grannies (or nuns or w/e they're referred as) was most likely at the love locks at Namsan Tower (http://www.korea.net/NewsFocus/Travel/view?articleId=120763).
-
So which leg is Mongolia? 4th? 5th?
-
So which leg is Mongolia? 4th? 5th?
If they did a second leg in Vietnam, somewhere rural, there's less chance of sighting. 4th is still quite possible.
-
Would they really do two rural Vietnam legs and then go to Mongolia directly after? I'd think it's more likely we missed another country. Especially if the route is going Australia-Korea-Vietnam-Mongolia, it seems odd that they wouldn't do Vietnam before Korea in that case. It makes more sense to me that there'd be somewhere like Bangladesh or Nepal in the middle.
Also I know Mongolia typically doesn't have many exit options, but there appears to be a flight from Ulaanbaatar to Frankfurt today. Europe is DEFINITELY a possibility for the next leg.
-
Thanks!
-
SEOUL????? :duno: :duno: :duno:
-
That Starting Line in Seoul is very curious, indeed. Not very sure i like this
-
When Beau said one country required 4 shots, I presumed it'd be one in Africa.
-
The Gobi Desert is being speculated as a destination???
I'm THINKING...
Leg 1: South Korea
Leg 2: Vietnam
Leg 3: Mongolia
Leg 4: Gobi Desert? (unconfirmed)
Leg 5: Kenya (unconfirmed)
Leg 6: Zimbabwe
Halfway there! :0328:
-
OK. A Starting Line not set in Australia, this is almost setting up to be the anti-TARCAN, at least in the destinations sense.
So they probably had sequester out of Australia, and production and teams were flown to South Korea during sequester.
At least we didn't miss anything "local". Keeping an eye out in social media, but wonder what's after Africa, Europe, South America or North America, at least I expect them to finish the race back in Australia, right?

-
If you are posting a location , PLEASE provide the source and credit.
Otherwise it is valueless info...
-
Since there was no sighting in the past few days there probably on Leg 8. I am thinking about South America or Europe. Probably Brazil since they have only gone to Argentina in South America. If Europe probably Italy, Spain, UK, Ireland, France, or the Netherlands.
-
Looks likes we’ve missed at least a country or two if they are already back in Australia!
Does anyone think the story posted from Darwin looks like the finishing mat? Seems like there’s a big mat and multiple team waiting around?
-
I can confirm that, that Instagram story is taken from the Darwin Waterfront!
I was there about three months ago! Lovely, relaxing spot! The sun rises early in the morning in Darwin. It looks to be taken at round 7:30am this morning?
Anyway, I've added some pictures below of the Darwin Waterfront, for confirmation! Nice find aussieamazingracer!

It appears that filming has wrapped, guess we'll see some press info in the next few weeks :waves:
-
Guess your timeline's kinda all over the place on this one, Oval. There's a big hole in the second half :(
How do those Aussies manage to stay so invisible? This happened the last time, too.
-
It is interesting to note that on the same day we got the Darwin sightings, the AFL Premiership Cup also visited Darwin... I wouldn't believe it would have anything to do with us... but then again, Tom was on an AFL list and Tyler is the famous son of Paul Roos, who lifted the Premiership Cup in 2005... just something to keep in mind... :duno:

CONFIRMED!
Beau has stated on a Commercial Break:
'22 Australians, EIGHT countries and you can catch it right here on Ten!'
-
South Korea
Vietnam
Mongolia
Zambia
Australia
We are missing 3 countries.
Malawi?
-
For a standard route, there's probably 1 European country, at least.
-
The only two international destination arriving in Darwin are Singapore and Denpasar, Indonesia.
They probably had a layover in Sydney/Perth (I think they have a flight from London, so Europe could be the last leg before the finale)
-
Is anyone else annoyed that at the 'live' start Beau shouts '3, 2, 1, GO!'?
What happened to 'The World Is Waiting! Good, Travel Safe, GO!'?
What is this bloke doing? :( :'(
-
South Korea
Vietnam
Mongolia
Zambia
Australia
We are missing 3 countries.
Malawi?
I Kenya was specifically mentioned by Beau in this interview: https://www.kiis1065.com.au/entertainment/tv/beau-ryan-tells-us-all-about-the-amazing-race-australia/

Doesn't bother me considering he's not the first TAR host to use 3, 2, 1, go, and he said race hard, race safe like Grant.

Also, that's a first world type problem. Doesn't really matter as long teams and tasks are good.

I do not believe Beau is that much of a quick thinker that he'd (1) pull out a fake country as an example and (2) conveniently pick one of the two countries that had been rumoured but not confirmed just to confuse the show's stalkers, especially when it's not the sort of country that's been associated with TAR much in the past.
I think the "every corner of the world" bit is more significant given the race as we know it is almost entirely confined to east Asia and south eastern Africa. Would make it almost certain that the missing country is in the Americas somewhere. Or maybe they're treating it as "eight INTERNATIONAL countries" and ignoring the Australia finale, and there's one missing country in the Americas and one in Europe.

There's been a bit more development since the google view, but it should match up.
I'd peg it as the pitstop if they stopped to take selfies.
-
Judy & Terese and Alana & Niko are not seen in preview outside of Seoul, Rowah & Amani are not seen either, but we had sighting of them in Vietnam.
So I would guess one of the first two teams mentioned is first team eliminated.
-
Discussion of new possible Locations/TAsks from the promos is fine here.
TEAM/Contestant discussions go in that thread please. That includes spec on placements.
:ty3:
-
Some of the new locations shown in the preview include a headfirst swing at the Lookout Cafe swing in Zimbabwe, a shot of Route 37 outside of Seoul, a hydroflight task at the Mapo Bridge in Seoul, a Batoka Aerodrome microlight over Livingstone, and a Lake Malawi-style dugout canoe.
-
They went to Victoria Falls, so that's 2 of the 8 countries right there =/
Zambia/Zimbabwe. And Australia makes 3.
-
So our countries must be:
South Korea
Vietnam
Mongolia
Malawi
Zimbabwe
Zambia
Australia
We're missing one!
-
Just speculation but I think the missing country could probably be one in the Middle East - UAE/Qatar/Bahrain etc. This would also fit within the 3 continent confirmation from the preview.
Only because the preview including shots of teams fly boarding in the water and looks to be behind a Middle Eastern type skyline. Is someone able to screencap those shots and try and ID the city behind?

That's the Mapo Bridge in Seoul (https://www.google.com/maps/@37.5320125,126.9342204,3a,15y,4.9h,90.94t/data=!3m6!1e1!3m4!1sxml0PLj2j9buQ7HHcPLJRQ!2e0!7i13312!8i6656).
-
Ah okay! My bad! I still think we could still have a Middle Eastern country as one of the penultimate legs however - but this is pure speculation.
-
Didn't somebody say Kenya, or was that pure spec, too?
The route will be a little better if the missing country is something Middle Eastern. Or even in Australia's continent, somewhere in Polynesia.
-
There was a frame where Ashley was in the mud. Where is that?
-
I think the route is Asia (SK, Vietnam, Mongolia) - Africa (Zambia, Zimbabwe, Malawi) - Asia - Australia, with last country being Asia's one not seen in promos because it would be too spoilerish. Or would they go all the way from Africa to Australia? Isn't that logistic nightmare?
-
Yeah, Australia's always done a fantastic job with fair casting of older folks.
I'm equally excited for the announcement of that other Bill & Cathi-looking team that spun around on the camel.
-
The "empanadas" chalenge from last promo is in South Korea, right? Do we know the name of that food?
Also I think either SK or Vietnam will have 2 pit stops, I wonder which one.
-

Those aren't empanadas, they are gyozas/potstickers a food that is found in East Asia.
-
Based off the promos and knowing from filming that Victoria Falls is Leg 7, I think the only logical choice at this point is 3 double legs in South Korea, Vietnam and Mongolia right? I don't think we've seen any promo footage outside these three countries.
-
Yeah, I believe that. Sure didn't get much out of Africa.
-
Yeah it makes me think this info below is accurate. We'd have all double legs excluding the Zimbabwe/Zambia combo and the penultimate leg before the finale in Aus. Kinda disappointing honestly.
I have heard from a reliable source that there will be 6 countries visited, 2 legs in each country.
-
I would have loved more of course. Guess we should be grateful for what we have though!

There is lot of Africa footage in promo. Sid & Ash, Jerome & Jasmin, Femi & Nic and Viv & Joey are seen in Africa in promo(s).
I think first half of the season are double legs in SK, Vietnam, Mongolia, then 3 single legs in Zambia, Zimbabwe, Malawi. Then I guess double leg in another unknown asian country and then one leg in Australia. Just speculation.

3 seasons, 3 all-male winners. It'd be nice if Season 4 breaks that pattern.
But who knows...there's a "Tyler" in the cast. The luckiest name in TAR history

Keep dreaming. MM team will win this season for sure, it's obvious.
They casted 3 strong musculine alpha MM teams, while all the others team are old, unathletic, small... Sid/Ash, Jeremy/Jasmine and mayyyybe that one girl team look like only ones who can compete with them.
Honestly this cast looks epic and these alpha MM teams will just ruin everything probably. :( They seriously could not cast Femi & Nick at least, the exact same archetype won TARAU season before lol.
Ok, stop bitching, back to speculating...
The other 2 FF teams were both showed in 3 different clothes outfits in promos, so I would say they made it to leg 3 at least. So unless NEL happened, Alana & Niko and Judy & Terese are first 2 boots.
-
Came across this today!
It might be a route map for our season! However, it has listed TWO legs in South Africa, TWO legs in New Zealand, a start in Sydney (fake news), a leg in Israel or Jordan and doesn't contain legs in Malawi?

Yeah, that's not right. They just copied and pasted some other random season's route map from Wikipedia o_O
Edit: That's Israel 1's route!

So is there a location which would boost our total distance to 45000kms? Cause I'm starting to think it's bull**** :funny:
-
Just looking at the preview videos and I’m thinking that the location in Mongolia with the desert/camels looks like the “Mini” Gobi and not the actual Gobi. I was there just a few months ago and the Mini Gobi is only a small area surrounded by mountains and greenery as seen on the videos. Furthermore, going from one place to another in Mongolia is quite a challenge and the Mini Gobi can actually be reached from Ulaanbaatar in a few hours drive versus the actual Gobi which would take days.
-
Thanks! Would love to see some of your pics?

To give some idea of what clues team might face, it looks like we might be starting the Race with a riddle with teams having to find the other I•SEOUL•U sculpture by going from the one in Seoul Plaza to the one in Yeouido Hangang Park to find the Flyboard task.

Maybe an island nation or territory in Oceania for the penultimate leg to fit with their theme of two legs in the sameish location each week. Including connecting cities, that gets the route up to about 45,000 km.

Not sure where to post this but saw this pic on facebook and it obviously looks like its part of the race and doesn't seem like it's from anywhere we know they have travelled so maybe it's from the mysterious last country?

I notice they've been treating the pre-season coverage as if they're trying to attract new people to Amazing Race.
https://www.facebook.com/AmazingRaceAU/photos/a.472256566697225/483740822215466/?type=3&theater
If this post has to explain what a Fast Forward is, I assume that means we're getting at least one this season. No doubt about a U-Turn.
-
Are we sure that "making dumplings" is Leg 2 and not Leg 1? Both Ash & Sid and Judy & Therese are seen in same clothes like in Leg 1.
Agree, I thought that making dumplings, speed stacking and flyboarding would be Leg 1 in South Korea. Then Leg 2 in rural SK with kayaking, mud task and the temple shot in the first promo - DMZ visit (pure spec)??
I think the route is:
Leg One: Seoul
Leg Two: South Korean countryside
Leg Three: Hanoi
Leg Four: Ninh Binh
Leg Five: Ulaanbaator
This is just my thoughts considering the spoilers and information from promos etc.
Might need to re-evaluate this, the preview definitely showed Ninh Binh as the pitstop for next leg.
-

Yeah I agree! Perhaps we only have one leg in Vietnam? I'm not sure - still think we may have China in there somewhere because Beau explicitly said in an interview that China was his least favorite place that he visited? Guess we'll find out next week.
-
I would guess there are 2 legs in Vietnam, based on this picture:
Show content
(https://i.imgur.com/8QjzWfu.png)
Hayley & Mikayla wear different clothes in preview, not the ones they wear at photo.
It also means unless LEG 3 is NEL, Rowah & Amani will be eliminated.
Yeah, the boot order is getting ****. And preview even hyped epic footrace to mat so watch them to lost footrace to boring inferior team like happened to nuns.
-
Well, the thing the preseason did focus on for Vietnam was Amani crying over whatever that is they're eating. And so far their foreshadowing has been very spoiler-y.
I'm half-guessing something their faith does not allow them to eat, and that's what gets them eliminated. Penalty.
-
They mentioned that Amani is a picky eater in their bio. Yeah, it looks like that eating challenge could cost them race. I wonder why Rowah didn't do it instead. Do someone know what food are they supposed to eat?
-

It looks like the sticky rice since I think they were unwrapping them from the banana leaves? Maybe something similar to TARA5's Fast Forward where they had to eat until they found a coin inside.

An ad just showed that Tom & Tyler experience "Hanoi Horror" next week and are dead last at some point.
-
Also Rowah & Amani make it to wherever this picture is from:

^^That looks like the cube puzzle from the premiere of Survivor SA: IOS. Plus there are other team pictures, so it might be the final task.

Sooo uhhh they just showed an ad that Sid & Ash get U-Turned by Jasmin & Jerome in presumably Vietnam. Looked to be a single U-Turn too

Country list: South Korea, Vietnam, Mongolia, Zambia, Zimbabwe, Malawi, Thailand, Australia

That pretty much confirm 2 legs in Vietnam and Mongolia.
Do we know if Gobi is 1st or 2nd Mongolia's leg? The one with camels...
-
Well maybe it's just 1 leg in Vietnam and two in Thailand!
This is like TAR Canada 5 when they visited Bangkok and nobody knew.
Penultimate leg in Thailand for sure, now we we wait to see if it's just 1 leg or 2
South Korea 1 (11 teams to 10)
South Korea 2 (10 teams to 9)
Vietnam 1
Vietnam 2 (I feel like one of the Vietnam legs will be NEL, and at the end of both leg, we will have 8 teams left)
Mongolia 1 (8 to 7?)
Mongolia 2 (7 to 6 or NEL)
Zambia 1
Zimbabwe 1
Malawi 1
Malawi 2
Thailand
Australia
-
Thailand, of course, what is it about that country?
Visits there by US and Canada had gone completely unnoticed, too.

That's hilarious!
It's not like they wanted to keep it a secret though when it says at the end of the episode to go online to see the full credits.

From the crew list some of the camera people worked on TAR Canada!
** Also a Producer and Senior Challenge Producer

Wonderful find Xoruz! :conf:

Odd that they'd spoil a U-Turn in a commercial, but yeah, here it is on Deadly Duo's Instagram https://www.instagram.com/p/B4YWLQEAKxo/

The pre-season previews were quite spoilerific the way they focused on one certain moment of the early boots.
Judy & Therese (running in Seoul) - gone in South Korea.
Rowah & Amani (Amani crying over the eating task) - gone in Vietnam.
And then, of course, there's Chris & Adrienne with the camel. Got a terrible hunch that means we're going to lose them in Mongolia.
-
Chris and Adrienne will be eliminated in Mongolia for sure based on spoilers. Only 6 teams made it to Africa and they are known based on spoilerish 10's promos, lol.
Question now is will they be eliminated in leg 5(8th place) or leg 6(7th place)?
I didn't find episode 4 online so far so couldn't watch preview for episode 5... Is episode 5 the desert leg with camels based on preview or not? thanks for answer. If not, and it's city leg instead, that would mean sisters will be eliminated next leg. If it's desert leg then it's sisters or Chris & Adrienne.

The preview showed Sid & Ash looking for a taxi near the Gandantegchinlen Monastery with the rest of the preview in the desert with the camel scene.

How do you know only 6 teams make it to Africa?
One of the Mongolian leg could be our second NEL.
But you are right if both legs are EL then we know who are the next two teams out
-
We have info that Zambia leg 7 was raced by 6 teams.
I just checked the episode, and leg 5 is desert leg featured in preseason promos, so either Chris & Adrienne or Hayley & Mikayla got eliminated.
Hopefully it's older couple, because just noooo @ possibility of 3 FF teams going back to back at 10th-9th-8th.
-
Also Rowah & Amani make it to wherever this picture is from:

Wait, I'm confused, where was this from? Rowah and Amani were eliminated but yet I don't believe we saw this in any of the episodes they were featured in?

Maybe a memory challenge, you can see another picture on the left of the clue, and another at bottom-middle of the picture.
-
I think Chris and Adrienne will be eliminated next followed by Hayley/Mikayla. I would be surprised if Hayley and Mikayla are next since they are a strong team.
I think Sid/Ash and Femi/Nick will be eliminated after them.
Final 4 Guess: Tom/Tyler, Viv/Joey, Jasmine/Jerome, Tim/Rod

We can never be 100% sure unless we have pics about this. Sometime maybe not all teams were seen.
I just saw a promo on facebook: It seems a lot of teams are there in the desert at the same time (they seem to be digging). And lots of attention on the alpacas farmers. (he falls from his camel). Would they put so much attention on them if they are out?

If this is the final memory challenge, maybe it's with pics of eliminated teams only. Can we see who is on the other pic? It looks like someone with Black hair (Viv/Joey or Jasmine/Jerome)
-
Normally I'd agree Stunami, but there was a leak during filming. We can be 100% sure the next two boots are the alpaca farmers and the sisters.
-
Just saw a new trailer on facebook.
It's a U-Turn vote... and guess who get's Uturn???

Tim and Rod :groan: :groan: :groan:
What the hellll... giving how production seems to spoil a lot in their preview, I'm going to bet that they will be last in a NEL.
-
For the all the talk about spoiling in the previews
Show content
why did production decide to introduce Jasmin & Jerome preseason by showing Jasmin jumping out of a Top End Tandem skydiving plane in their intro video? Thus spoiling the fact that they make the finale.
-
Anyone else notice Jerome's now done 5 Roadblocks and Jasmin's done 1? (Leg 1) How reminiscent of those first seasons of TAR, lol.
If Australia follows the equal Roadblock thing, she'll probably be forced to do the ones that are left.

J/J u-turned T/T, I think it's a smart move

I also notice there's only one brief shot of Viv & Joey (from behind) in that entire trailer. Unintentionally foreshadowing the final elimination?

I don't know... (Wasn't there a picture that showed them in Darwin?)
We do see them running from the back close to Tom/Tyler.
The editors have given away a lot in their previews, and this preview kind of make it seems like it's a race to the mat between T/T and J/J for last place. But who knows maybe V/J or T/R are behind at this point.
-
Yeah, maybe. Feeling pretty sure it's either them or Tim & Rod eliminated.

I don't think the U-turn will matter. Tom and Tyler fly through everything anyways :funny:
Prediction:
1 Tom/Tyler
2 Jasmin/Jerome
3 Viv/Joey
4 Tim/Rod
-
:groan: Why do they keep spoiling U-Turn results.
-
Argh - I hate T&T u turned
I knew those bastards couldn’t be trusted
-
:groan: Why do they keep spoiling U-Turn results.
They spoil everything. No suspense
-
Might as well spoil the F3 and winning team.
-

Then again, if there's a U-turn this leg, only the most dumb team will choose not to u-turn Tom & Tyler, knowing they are the strongest team in the final four.

It could totally be a winner's move. Tami & Victor did Uturn Kisha and Jen in China. Of course the bathroom break didn't help at all back then. Though I don't expect it to hinder Tom & Tyler too much. It might slow them enough to give 1st place for another team.
For Tom & Tyler not to make it into F3, it would take the other 3 tams to actually properly teaming-up to try to get them out. I don't expect that to happen.
-
It always depends what the tasks are... all is take is ONE task that they are not good at, to put them behind and last.
I really don't know if it means anything, I mean production kinda spoiled a lot with their previews: Chris falling of the camel and being hurt, the influencers getting a penalty and being eliminated, etc.
But at the same time they have been deceiving: the Mongolia trailer 2 with T/T being 'hurt', and this last episode with a containder being eliminated (let's be honest F/N were the weakest team left by far)
So I guess i won't be surprise either way lol
